“Ono san also said that it seems a lot of people want a Dakstalkers using the sf4 engine and (wait for it?.) a STREET FIGHTER III 4th Strike”
Ok so the possibility of a sequel to 3rd strike is now real. In no way is this definitely coming out but we now know that Ono recognizes the demand for it and who knows what that means. Maybe just a HDR style rerelease or even just a straight port to current gen consoles.
What is the 3rd strike community’s opinion on this?
If Ono considers 3s perfection why would he think you could improve on that? Honestly, it’s interesting to hear this, but at the same time im not all that thrilled based upon capcoms style with fighting games now.
and I’m sick of people talking about balancing this game…god.
Also, like others have said before. Ono likes to talk…a lot.
Well 3s does have some glarring issues with character balance, but it only really needs a adjustment and not a complete revision. If they want to attempt to balance this game, consult multiple high level players and assure that this game is reflecting the opinions of those whom know it the best. This won’t promise "great results"of course since some people will just prefer the original, which is why they should be sure to include the original game with a improved netcode to satisfy the veteran players.
Really don’t want gameplay changes that will just fuck everything up but the idea of a rebalanced 3S is intriguing. To be honest a nice non-Udon resprite (or just some nice filters/anti aliasing), another arranged soundtrack from djpretzel&co and GGPO netcode and I’d buy the shit out of it.
EDIT: SFIII: 4th Down or whatever would be great but definitely not with SF4 engine at all.
Thats what people said about SF4, and its true we can just keep playing 3s, but other people make it their goal to encourage people to stop playing 3s in favor of their game or belittle the people who still play 3s. That annoys the fuck out of me.
But like that other guy said, not much to lose. People are already trying to get rid of 3rd Strike in tournaments by talking crap about it. The least we can hope for is some great revival.
Shooting ideas down solely based on opinion now is not an option if you want to keep a superior game engine alive.
