NO! just release Third Strike the way it is on the current game consoles. my God with Capcom rebalancing and remaking their games. Third Strike is perfect just the way it is.
i don’t believe that they have the ability to make a 4th strike anymore.
if it was still the same people that made 3s i would welcome it.
It’s just too cheap to produce polygons as opposed to exceptional animation and design. Best thing they could do is re release it with minor tweaks to help with balance but a major overhaul would be disastrous.
just curious,
all you peooper 3s players and hardcore say don’t change anything, just rerelease.
would you be against this thing i did:
http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/21001681/third_strike_widescreen_remix
widescreen would change the game, so yes
edit: didnt look at those images at first. those are pretty dope man.
while I do appreciate all the time and effort you put into your work… I hope 3s will never be changed.
no thanks
4th Strike? Yes. I’m all for it. If only to put SF4 out of it’s fucking misery.
As long as the developers:
- Keep the core engine the same. It’s mathematical fighting perfection, after all.
- Add an even deeper character roster. Bring back all the original world warriors.
- And with it, new stages, new BGMs.
- Make Yun’s super meter longer. (you know the one…)
when i read that i interpreted it as a whole new sf3 game not a remake of 3rd strike. that would be great actually. sf2 has a bunch of upgrades (6 i think) and sf3 has only been upgraded twice.
3s isn’t perfect. it has balance issues. seems to be the white elephant in this thread. although it’s the most fun to play sf game in my opinion.
as i said before 3s IS perfect…reason why it took 10 years to make another street fighter thats much more noob friendly
if you want to take a game to the next level and prove yourself as a great player…you play 3s
they could just re release with no changes on ps3 and 360 instead and let the players who are willing to play it do so…no need to improve graphics on something that already looks sexy
>3s is perfect.
Are you sure?
I have no doubts with the gameplay engine itself, but the characters are all perfect for their respective roles?
^SF4 Fan boy
3rd Strike IS perfect, period.
Word.
Capcom thinks so :bgrin:
thank you for bringing that back :lovin: i forgot where i posted that in the first place lol but yes what was i saying???..oh yeah…3s is perfect. PERIOD.
definitely not perfect. nothing is and that’s why anything has potential to get better, including the sf3 series.
i don’t see why people are picking on Nyoronoru. just because 3s isn’t perfect doesn’t mean he’s an sf4 fanboy. i hate sf4 but i certainly don’t think 3s is perfect. anyways, i don’t want another 3s. i’d like to see sf3: 4th impact or whatever they want to call it. change shit around so we have new combos and match ups to learn.
EDIT
also, making a fourth installment in the sf3 series helps keep the scene for it alive (i hope). unless you wanna play sf4/sf2 style street fighter in the years to come.
I think SF4 is an okay game, but I am actually a really big fan of games that require assist characters like MvC2 and TvC.
After playing Third Strike but too late to make a larger investment in it, I concluded that it really was the ultimate fighter because it masterfully embodied the philosophy of risk-reward (parries) and technical skill along with the maximum amount of mind games ever implemented in a fighting game. Throw in the UOH and the ability for any character to land a super reasonably, and you definitely have a masterpiece. SF3 caused true brick-shitting moments in fighting game history that will probably never be seen again.
But it’s not perfect. It just needs a couple of tweaks in terms of character balance. Denying this seems odd. Just my own opinion, I can understand those who want to preserve the game until the end.
I like the idea of a 4th strike. Just include an arcade perfect copy of 3s and I’d be happy cause if 4th impact flops I will have arcade perfect 3s at home
Third Strike is a masterpiece. Like everything it has flaws and is not perfect. The movie Goodfellas is a masterpiece. It might have flaws but why would you change it and how would you even know how to change it.
My point is people should not touch masterpieces but keep them as they are. I own four arcade versions of third strike. When third strike first came out in 98 it had unblockable combos. When Capcom made an updated version (Which is like the dc version) and took out the unblockables, that game was a step down because it was no longer as fun as the original version. If Capcom kept that upgraded release that took out the unblockables, then there would be no Urien or Oro as we have them today.
What I’m trying to make clear is that Capcom was right the first time in their release of third strike. The second upgrade was unnecessary. Any minor tinkering of third strike is not a good idea. The hardcore players who kept the game alive for the past ten years should not have to see their game messed with. It’s like that year in the NBA when they tried to force the players to use a new basketball. Change in this case doesn’t work. If they release a 4th strike, the players who love third will not embrace it and the casual players who will play it will only play it for a month and then leave it and go back to SF4 or their other games. It takes history and a hardcore connection to the game to truly understand why third strike should not be changed at all.
So Capcom for the love of God, don’t desecrate third strike by thinkering with it. You should have learned your lesson on how you messed up Super Turbo by making HD remix. Super Turbo was fine. I don’t understand why this version exist. It’s not an improvement. These remakes are just a slap in the face to the hardcore gamers who really care about Street Fighter and keep it alive and thriving today.
Right now Capcom should just focus on making SF4 better. And believe me they have a lot of work to do on that. They just scratched the surface. So forget about the old masterpieces and just make SF4 perfect. That’s the game everyone should talk about remaking.
Please no more talk of messing with third strike. It makes me sad.
