Street fighter III: 4th strike

I think you focused WAAAY too much on the super arts. To be honest.
Its the same fault David Sirlin made when “rebalancing” ST for HDR. You get way more ooohs and ahhs from new specials and supers.
Tons of small stuff should be changed first: Elena having a cancelable C.MK, Q/Alex/Hugo/12 having more than? 2 cancelable moves.
12’s health.
Oro’s S.HK whiffing crouching chun.
Removing (or toning down) whiffing pokes to build meter.
Oh, and can you bring back the 2nd Impact Stages/Music?

Yeah, fuck jab short jab, I want to keep using short jab short.

Of COURSE not. If the balls touch, that would be gay.

I thought it was to buff and nerf the top randomly and nerf the low tiers for the heck of it. So is this going to be a download game via xbl arcade or something stupid?

:coffee:

at first i thought this was mugen and i was like shakes head, but then i found out it was a romhack and i’m quite impressed. however, that doesn’t change the fact that it does look pretty broken. i think all the criticism is coming from the fact that op labelled it as a “re-balanced” version of 3s, when it really isn’t. as far as i can see, hes not really ‘solving’ any of the ‘problems’ 3s has, he is just (randomly?) adding and removing mechanics. if it wasn’t labelled as such, i think more people would be open to it and accept it for what it is.

re-balanced doesnt mean its balanced it means its re-balanced

EXACTLY !!! not many people, do which is why its fuckin incredible.
Not to be a fan boy but i’ve a Bsc in computer science and only way i can see this being done is using a hex editor and sitting down and making sense of what parts do what, probably going further to even making a tweaking application, like an engine tweaker.

ANYWAY i dont think people comprehend the work involved here [i.e your comment, no offence, but rom hacking has nothing to do with the lag, thats up to the emulator itself and the netplay algorithms it uses] and have resorted to bitching about the term used ‘re-balanced’, take it with a pinch of salt. Its just the beginning ! Do you think a balanced SF3 will create a scene ? NOW ? after SSF4 ?

regardless anyone complaining now should have been complaining when cps2 got emulated and was W.I.P with gfx and speed issues. It was obviously WIP and so is this. jeez

You ask this about a community who leaps forward with wallets extended like crucifixes to ward off an impending vampire assault for shit like a re-release of a couple barebones, 20-year-old beat-em-ups, a crappily redrawn version of a 16-year-old fighter, and a port of a 10-year-old, horribly unbalanced, epilepsy-inducing 3-on-3 glitchfest. How can you doubt the success of this, especially when this hacked rom is a nicely modified game from the same company?

this 100 times, this game is going to fuckign own so hard. haters can suck it

People misinterpreting the word rebalance all up in here.
I think what he’s doing is clever and interesting. Some of the changes are crazy and it’s cool seeing changes like Remy SA3 being a grab, Oro with air fireballs, the Hugo combos, and Alex’s chop reflecting fireballs. I was laughing at broken Twelve and unblockable Sean hado.

people shoudl think of it more as 3rd strike+ or 3rd strike remix or somethin so they dont act stupid then

@maybememories I know this is complex I know they are using a hex editor but one thing you forget to mention is that they also have to decrypt and re-encrypt the roms 10 and 20 (either by yumeji’s xcopy or special lines in debug version of mame).

Cause going through with a hex editor with it being encrypted is going to make the rom fail on loading.

Yeah I had no problems with new supers but the damage on them needs to be scaled down.

Also are they going to release some hacking notes cause all cps3 games use the same way for holding data just different locations.

@Renegade it is possible to switch the music just a lot of work cause the music isn’t just a sound wave on the cps3.

Fixed for accuracy.

What is this project meant to accomplish though? Is it a serious rebalance to compact the tiers? Is it a bit of fun not meant to be taken serious?I would like to hear what the creator himself has to say about this first.

I don’t like what I see in terms of the actual changes, but I can see what potential this has.

jesus people on this forum are such dorks. stop taking everything so seriously

Game looks like absolute gutter trash.

“Opponents are happy when they’re winning, when in fact they already lost. That is the Joseph Joestar way.” [via your sig]

you already lost, bitch

Changes may be stupid from a balance sense but holy shit, this looks fun as hell to play.

I joined SRK because everyone here was against Brawl+ and said it was better to play games the way they are despite their flaws. I thought that was the right way to go about things.

Now, there’s a thread about a 3S hack doing the same thing Brawl+ was and… there’s about 50% supporting it at least? What happened?
