It’s cool Jakob- I was just curious about the Tengu Steve thing, not trying to jump your bones about it.
As far as AE goes, I actually have better luck getting decent connections on the 360 than the OG Xbox. Besides, it doesn’t recognize my new gamertag, even though I went through account recovery, updated all of my payment info, all that good stuff. So I guess I’ll have to wait for your challenge at Evo or the one time a month you hop on HF. If you have a good showing at Evo, that will do a lot to rinse the bad taste out of everyone’s mouth from that ranking spree you had when HF first dropped.
Actually, Vanilla Tears is the alternate to Savalas.
Both are legendary though.
Sorry Jakob, but I tried going back to AE, but waiting around is no fun. I’m 28. I got better things to do. Besides, my ST rog is too dominant. That’s also why I only have 4 360 games. (if you can even count the trial Contra).
Time is scarse.
About the Decoy thing. I’m just saying is all. Your attitude seems to be that the only good player in the world is the one that consistently dominates you. You basically put off everyone else. Afro, Jason Cole, amongst others. Take a realistic look at SF. There are many MANY players that would make all our eyes bug out. Even yours. Maybe you should just try and be more humble.
Vt is right on the aspect anybody i beat with ease or beat consistantly i think is overrated. I just really don’t consider myself a good player in HF for 360 due to the controller issues and lag and when i bruck some highly talked about player. But i really don’t blaim you for not wanting to play AE. I find myself holding a 80-90%winrate everytime i play but i rather sit around and play a bunch of mid-upper tier players than a swarm of scrubs. But i really don’t attack other players unless they ask for it. Hf is still to easy for me the good players are too far and inbetween and i’m not bragging by anymeans.
As for Tengu Steve did you come up with this theory i never heard anything about this? I sent him a message but i never got a response yet. But i’m really looking foward to evo it’s a chance for me to shut up all the trashers who have never seen me play at my best. It’s not HF but my ST Vega has been looking on AE and i use to be very good with him years ago plus i do alot more than throw with him.
I just thought VT might be Dekor because it said I’ll eat you children. Altough i think Dekor came up with that name and put the Balrog icon to frame him.
Nah, I’m pretty sure someone else came up with the Tengu theory, but I’ll take your word if you say you’re not him. It’s not a big deal to me anyway, forget I asked.
I’m not afraid of losing to better players in AE, if that’s what you’re implying. I’ve never turned down a challenge from top players in 3S or HF. It’s just that in AE, the only people I played consistently in that game were my friends Malaguena and FS7, as well as Afrolegends. Sets with that dude were rather one-sided, but fun nonetheless. I like the variety of comp and atmosphere in HF. Hopefully ST comes to 360 so everybody can hop on that and continue the good times.
I wasen’t saying you where a loser at AE i was saying in HF the competition for me is really bad. And not from a bragging point im just saying it’s not fun dominating a room for over an hour then your forced to switch characters like Dhalsim and Balrog just to get a challange. I like to lose more than win. But i can’t just sit around and magically summon KJ’s Sagat,River’s Ken,Master Censor’s Ryu,and/or Decoy’s Blanka to the room to give me my fix. I’m usually playing random scrub A,NarcissusCaeser, and TravelinPenguin. Or random scrub A,B,and C. While sitting around waiting for timeouts,15 second screens, getting booted by the machine, playing in lag from h3ll with a crappy default 360 controller.
They should make AE b/c but there not gonna because M$ thinks that will hurt there HF sales at least imo. Plus you actually have to go buy the game (and find it) which will lessen the amount of scrubs. I beat a guy 50-4 the other day but at least most of the games where kinda close and wasn’t a lag filled mess like HF. Plus if nobody is on Hyper Anniv you can always go on Third Strike that game has almost as many people as HF. I think full retail games especally rare ones have more dedicated and better skilled players than a downloadable arcade game. I think HF for 360 highly damaged the reputation of such a great game and arguably the best in the series. I only played it for as long as i did because i love fighting games enough to put up with it.
Thats mainly why i’m looking foward to Evo because i’ts mostly dedicated players alot who traveled to get there. Arcade’s are dead you won’t find too many good players in person thesedays and usually friend A is playing Halo and GOW while friend B is playing WOW. I’m fortinate enough to have one friend who is really good at fighting games but i want to play a variety of good players without stupid online lag and turbo controllers.
www.gopodular.com it’s $245 plus shipping. I decided againest it and just bought a MAS stick with the perfect 360 joystick and convex japanese buttons for use on PS2/Dreamcast for $179 plus a $35 lag free PS2/Xbox converter. But Gopodular is one of the very few Xbox 360 sticks out there.
Hi Koop is the date on this still March 10-11th because i’m already booked for evo south on those days. I whould like to play in KOF XI and A3 but Georgia is a bit further from me than Texas although if the date was a bit further away i might have been able to go.
Greetings all! This is my first post here and have seen some interesting threads lol!
Ummm…good games to KJ out da 17th yesterday, some bloody fierce battles…
Yes possum! Good to be here, well, doesn’t seem that lively at the mo lol!
I look forward to getting headbutted in the groin by ur slightly overweight character u use :wgrin:
Good games tonight to Mad Possum! We had a lot of really good, close, fun matches. Also, GG’s to Zeruel. I would’ve liked to have played some more with you, but when “Establishing Connection” dropped me from the room for the umpteenth time tonight, I decided to just call it a night. There were a lot of other good games tonight too, but I don’t recall anyone else who posts here.
Just wanted to say great games recently to mad possum, Atmos8 and KJ as per usual. Koop, I look forward to playing ur sick M.Bison again…
These days I hardly ever find any REAL comp like the peeps I just mentioned and it’s a shame cause I’m left mostly with scrubs who bitch about my Super Sim light slide fake combo’s lol!
Where are u good fighters lol?!! Bloody hit me up!
Ya, very GG’s to SweetJV the other day. Between you and Cuthbert I know I can always get some good Honda v. Dhalsim matches going. The multi-character matches were also good (though you can see there’s some characters i’m not that good with, LOL).
Good games tonight to Jumpsuit, Cuthbert, and Caliber LS7. We had a really nice room goin’ for a while. Cuthbert and Jesse, you guys gotta get some mics so we can talk!
Yeah good games to u SweetJV and to the other names u mentioned
The reason why I personally think my rep has been rock bottom pretty much since day one is that decent players, especially Ken/Ryu players, can’t accept that my Sim actually stands a chance against them never mind me winning a lot of games lol!
SweetJV, u saw what happened earlier when I beat up that guy in our lobby(can’t remember his name) and he quit early on the humiliation screen.
I should have sent him a message and said “Couldn’t take ur severe beating? What u gonna do, give me a bad rep!!!” Mwaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa!..
LOL! Yeah, people tend to get a little too worked up about losing. And I think they especially get worked up about losing to characters they don’t play or understand. When a Ryu/Ken beats a Ryu/Ken they might not be happy about it, but they can at least appreciate the tactics, combos, timing, spacing, etc that the other guy used. When people get beat by a character and tactis they don’t understand it’s easy for them to just go “That’s bullshit!” So don’t take it too personally :wgrin:
With that being said, I do think that it’s a lot harder to do things like reversal DP, headbutt, etc in between all the moves you do in your lockdown patterns online than it would be offline. At the same time, I don’t think most people appreciate enough how your timing, spacing, and patience allow you to get in on them and get out of sticky situations.
I hope we get a chance to play offline some day. Is there any chance of you going to EVO this year?
