I won’t spoil too much since today is Christmas Eve and some people might wait a bit to pick up and read their comics, but this one was fun! There’s a cameo of an SF4 character in the main story and, is that Roy’s father I saw of Power Stone Fame ROFL! Some cool Fei-Long / Bruce Lee references, LOL at Fei-Long as Kato with the Green Hornet! Lots of martial art movie references too. Were those Jackie Chan and Jet Li clones I saw HA HA!
The El Fuerte back up was pretty comedic too. He’s a fanboy of a SFA character OH SNAP! :lovin:
Well good stuff Udon. Chamba’s style gets better with every issue! That cover with Chun-Li next to Fei-Long is excellent! But MAAANG I wanted to see some Cody / Metro City action, I hope I won’t have to wait too long… :wonder:
A very solid issue. Plenty of action, some great comedic references, and sporting some great art.
I definitely like the pacing. The presentation has slowed down just a bit story wise to focus on individual characters. We all know the tourney is going to happen. We know who makes the cut. It’s nice to see the build up.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to seeing who Udon picks to be the winner of the SF2 Tournament as well.
My comic book store sucks and they didn’t order the issue. So I’m basically out of the loop in anything that happens until the trade paper back comes out. This always happens with Udon’s stuff, I wish there was more comic book stores in Wappingers Falls.
Yeah it does look like Q! And is that Guy sitting in front of him and ‘maybe’ red cloaked Killer Bee Cammy sitting next to him? This comic has more cameos then Ken’s SFA2 background.
I think its supposed to be “The Bride with Long Hair”, though I’ve never seen that one. There was Drunken Master, Iron Monkey, Wong Fei Hong (Jet Li’s played him a bunch of times) and the master of the Flying Guillotine.
I’m glad there’s so much action in these issues!
EDIT: Taking a look at Q and Guy as you guys mentioned, one of the guys in the crowd on the 2nd page looks a lot like Demitri from Darkstalkers…
WAIT A SECOND! Q is IN this comic!!! no fucking way!:woot::woot::woot:
I have to go pick this up ASAP! didn’t know it was out!
thank you so much Udon for putting Q in it! I know he witnesses shadoloo’s downfall so he will be seen again before moving to the sf III side of the comics!
thanks again! Q! hell yeah!
does anyone know if Yun and Yang have shown up again yet? they should be supporting their ‘aunt’ Chunners for this tournament!
Yes, vasilli10, Q DID witness the fall of Shadoloo. It has been known for a long time.
here is something written about it by Sano in 2002. and i remember first hearing it as official way back.
and if Capcom some reason wants to retcon that fact, well ,that’s another story but I don’t see them doing that.
and another point, since Shadoloo is ‘rebuilding’ in sf IV, Q might perhaps witness this downfall unlike the one Sano mentions here:

Personally I doubt that it’s Q in Ken’s SF2 background and here’s why.
First, the man is cheering! Can you picture emotionless robotlike Q cheering?
True, Q witnessed the fall of Shadowloo, but as stated before, Shadowloo actually fell in SFA3. After that incident, there was no Psycho Drive, no Dolls, no Four Lords of Shadowloo and Vega was reborn much weaker. Now, if that’s not a “fall” I don’t know what is. This is why it’s conjectured that when Urien credits Chun-Li with “the legs that destroyed Shadowloo” he’s talking about Chun-Li’s SFA3 envolvement since it’s more likely that Guile won the Tourney.
Argueably, I’m sure most would rather beleive that Q witnessed Shadowloo’s defeat (either by watching the Tourney winner defeat Vega, Gouki kill Vega or Mike Bison mismanage the company - don’t know about that last one…) during SF2 since SFA3 and SF3 Third Strike seem very unconnected. If that’s the case, I doubt it all went down on Ken’s stage!
I know vasilli10 knows his stuff. for sure. but so do I ,and maybe not as much, but I know for sure that Q witnessed the downfall of Shadoloo and remember distinctly when it was official way back.
things can change and be misinterpreted, but EVEN if so, it doesn’t mean Q DIDN’T witness it either since it never says he DIDN’T witness it anyways.
It was never verified though, by anyone, I learned to my dismay after taking over for Tiamat. Very few sources exist for 3S, and not one of them confirms anything remotely close to that.
If a source can be pinpointed, then the story changes.
