3S 100% identical to the arcade version? Hmmmmmmmmm…
PS2 sucks
YES.
Now I wont need to drop cash on an XBOX.
It’s about time PS2 got an online fighter. Though it kinda sucks though cuz now the SF:AE online gamers will be divided up. I doubt we’ll be able to play against someone on a different platform so there’ll definitely be a different group of online gamers for the PS2/Xbox versions. Well…at least PS2 is getting somewhere with it’s first online fighter.
You know what’s sad? Dumbass niggas like me are gonna buy all the games for both systems just to have the maximum amount of comp.
Dammit!
hmmmm… If i recall, isnt PS2 the #1 selling console in the world. If so, then how does this console suck when it kick xbox and GC ass without much hassel at the same time. If this console suck, then why are companies still making games for this console call PS2?? hmmm… i guess this console really does suck in your world of course, but you got nothing on PS2 so stop bashing PS2 for crying out loud:mad:
Like i say, I hope the rumor about PS2 online SFACollection is true, for this would be great newz alrighty:eek:
Sorry but thats a mistake. IGN PS2 just copy and pasted the same write up from IGNXB.
Read the press releases for proof.
Dreamcast standard controllers had digital ABXY buttons and analog L and R buttons. Other controllers (some 3rd party, arcade sticks etc) had digital C and Z buttons instead of the L and R. They did exactly the same thing as L and R 95% of the time (just ditigal, not analog) but they ARE different signals.
Magic box only converts L and R buttons. Not Z and C. So if your stick is wired to Z and C you’re screwed unless you rewire, if it’s even possible with your stick.
Someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
not only is that a mistake… you guys got excited for no damn reason… Proof read that shit in the ps2 article
“The controls are solid, but if it definitely isn’t the same using a Controller S as an arcade stick, so you will want to invest in one if you’re gonna buy this game when it ships later this year.”
Since when did ps2 have a s controller???
:lame:
i hope its not ont he ps2 that way al the comp can be on 1 system:p
Didn’t see the PS2 Online bit in here…
Unfortunately a member of the Gaming Age forums was able to go to E3 and specifically spoke to the Capcom reps at the show about the whole online issue.
SFAnniversary will be online for the Xbox only…And they also confirmed that both games would be online in the pack (i know some people were confused on this issue)
IGN is just being retarded this time.
The link to the thread (You need a Gaming Age forum account to view the thread)
I seriously hope your wrong. I really do not want to drop all the cash on going over the the 'Box.
Sell your ps2 and get an xbox. easy.
I’d like to say I was but I’m not. No sense holding hope for something that isn’t going to happen. The guy spoke with them just two days ago so the info is current.
And with the PS2 version shipping in a few months theres no time to implement online play into the PS2 version as well as set up the servers and test them…The game would have to be delayed into the Holiday season which would be murder for it as it’d be going up against hyped titles like MGS3, GT4, Killzone, and even MK6 (yes I said MK6  ) for sales.
If you want to play this game online you’ll have to get an Xbox. Sorry.
for people like me, who don’t have any good arcades within a fifty mile radius anymore, online online fighters are as good as it gets. i’m just glad game companies are now realizing this.
Just get a Box. Why do you play the PS2? The only reason I’d get one of those is for FFXI and some of the RPG’s. The box is cheap right now. Get the awesome looking Halo Edition and you get Halo with the Box and a controller, it’s a nice deal.
If thats the case, I might as well get a Box. I’ll prolly just get a used Box off of eBay, along w/ used games and 12-month XBL, just to save some cash. As kick ass as the system + game bundles look, they’re a lil’ too expensive for my salary(5.50/hr at a library). Oh well, at least I’ll have some online SF.
As for why I play the PS2, I play it because the PS2 is where all the games I want to play end up (RPG’s, Bemani, racers, and so on). Up until now, almost everything I wanted an XBOX for either ended up on the PS2(Splinter Cell) or PC(Morrowind, KOTOR).
There are 13 million Xbox consoles across the world (0.75 million of them are Live subscribers).
In contrast, there are nearly 80 million PS2s (and 2.6 million are online). So that’s nearly triple the other two consoles put together.
Hmm.
The same reason all those others do I suppose. Better software support, better availablility, competitive pricing…
Xbox cut the price before PS2.
Availability? To what?
Pricing? Xbox is cheap.
PS2 has a better library than Xbox does, so i wouldnt get an xbox until the console goes down to $100 dollars for im not willing to spit out $150 for a console and another $50 for a game. PS2 line up is much greater than Xbox line up this year. PS2 has Metal Gear Solid 3, Devil May Cry 3, Gran Turismo 4, Silent Hill 4, Tenchu 4, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw, FFXII, Kingdom Hearts 2, GTA San Anderson, Tekken 5, REOutbreak #2, etc. Hao 2 is the most anticipated waiting game for xbox alright, but i rather get the game for the PC cause 1st person shooters are alot better on PC than xbox console.
PS2 annouce there price cut too for $149.99 and i think it comes with a network adapter too.
It be nice for capcom to test out there online mode for SF2AC on the PS2 to see how the console handles it too, but samething once again happens with capcom being really lazy about just adding an online mode. People will buy the game, but capcom is so full of themselves when it comes to adding extras. count me out on the xbox live version until the console becomes really cheap and the game too for its not worth the $200 for just 1 game.
Software alwayz sellz a console, PS2 has the better list, so xbox and GC can compete with Sony for now.
