I’ve been thinking lately about watching Street Fighter. The live-action movie Street Fighter sucked, Street Fighter II V was totally off, and the American Street Fighter series is for little kids. The only really good Street Fighter shows/movies have been the SFII Animated movie and SF Alpha anime, but they’re old now, and who knows when SFA2 will be coming out. And I for one want to see more.
So I had an idea, let’s make our own movies. We could base them on the Udon comics storyline… it’s all written out already, got the dynamic camera angles that would look great on film, and it moves at a fast pace. I don’t think anyone would be up to the task of animating it, so it’d be best done live-action. Some of you might have seen cosplay films before, which are usually Sakura or Chun Li fighting Cammy at a Japanese anime convention, but there are some brilliant comic fan films out there based on Superman and Batman, Star Wars and others.
And you wouldnt have to make a massive movie. Some people could simply make a short film based on one of the back stories, a good day’s work with a few dressed up friends and a video camera and you’d get something decent done. I wouldn’t mind doing it, I could play Bison (I don’t look like anyone else, and Bison’s just a white man with a chin and mouth showing). I reckon CammyFighter would be a good Cammy. Just need a few other locals to help out.
And Spider-Man is in Marvel VS Capcom, so he’s a fighting game character! I didn’t think very long about my nick on here, and I couldn’t fit “Optimus Prime playing a CD32” in there.
As for SFA2, cool, might just go cryogenically freeze myself for a few months until it comes out, not much else worth doing until then. I can’t wait, thanks Sano.

I loved the Resident Evil movie. and if Lord of the Rings and Spider Man movies showed us anything. {I’m going out on a limb here so just take it with a grain of salt. I’m not going to argue about this,}
It’s possible with the right people a live action Street Fighter movie could be made and NOT SUCK!

Hey guys, I’m here, I’ve just been busy. I would love to play Cammy in a Street Fighter fanfilm, I guess we could use makeup and stuff to make me look younger for the Shadaloo Cammy episodes, and just be my 19 year old self for the Delta Red parts. But I haven’t made a Shadaloo costume, it’ll be even harder than the one I’m making now.
By the way, check back on my website at http://www.spin.net.au/~amiga/Cammy/ later tonight and I should have a photo of how my costume is coming along so far… which is basically a green leotard which is too big for me, and some red socks. But I’m doing Work-In-Progress photos of it along the way, so it’ll show hw I look before and after.

I remember years ago in Wizard magazine, each issue would have a page with who they thought should play the characters in upcoming comic movies, most of the time it was for the upcoming X-Men movie, which they were looking forward to for years. Funny thing is they always chose Patrick Stewart for Professor X. I guess he was born for the role.
As for a new, real SF movie, I would LOVE to see one, but apparently Van Damme is already organising one, where it’s a sequel to the first crappy movie, he still plays the European accented Guile, Australian pop-star-slut Holly Valance is playing Cammy, the same porn star is playing Ken as the first movie, and Dolph Lundgren is in it too.
Someone has to stop them ! They need a real SF movie, based on the real characters, and with actors who look the part, who cares if they’re big names or not, although one big name is always nice to have in a movie, like Christopher Lambert playing Rayden in Mortal Kombat, who, although not Asian (Rayden’s a god anyway, who knows what nationality he’s meant to be), was pretty good in the role.

Well the marvel movies had to go through a bunch of crap to actually produce something good.
[the first punisher movie, Captin America, Silver Surfer, I think there was a live action Spider man show in japan, Gerneration x. all crap before the Good spider man movie came out.] :wtf:

There were a few Hulk and Spider-Man telemovies as well, and a Fantastic Four movie that was made for $1,000,000 but never released (although it can be downloaded and found on eBay). I wish I could find Generation X somewhere, my video store used to have it and I rented it a few times years ago, but it can’t be bought these days, even though it was crap, it was Marvel, so I thought I might get it.
There are a few sites on the net with details on the new SF live-action movie. The new MK live-action movie sounds a LOT better.

The guy who played Zangeif in the first movie was perfect. For the other actors, they really need to get some skilled martial artists, fighters and gymnasts. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of any actors who would really suit any of the main characters, although a few months ago I found a website with a list of people some guy thought would be good for the parts, I’ll see if I can find the site. It was pretty stupid though, for some of them, like Jack Black and the Olsen twins.
It’d be funny to see Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson playing Ryu and Ken though, if they wanted to make the movie a comedy. Which I hope they don’t.
Yea i heard about van dames plan for SF2 MOVIE and that is bad for the rest of the world, this movie will likely not even make it to dvd it will be beemed straight to your tv for being so crap.

If a real live SF is made i want to be made in asia problay have Ryuhei Kitamura as the director as he knows how to make a good movie.

There was. It kicked ass. It wasn’t even really ‘Spider Man’ as we know him, but it was good none the less. Also, it was the first Kamen (mask) show to have the main character use a giant robot, thus giving birth to the now traditional Kamen plot device of having giant enemies and fighting them in a giant robot.
1st…van damn is not hollywood.
2nd an american made street fighter would be wat better than an asian made one. we set the bar for films. you want a good movie…look to america…you want a good game look to japan.
it just depends on who is involved w/ the film.
the sf2 movie has been rumored since april of 2001…seeing how it’s almost april of 2005 i wouldn’t put too much stock into it.
maybe steven speilberg will make this film…the maniac has already picked up fatal frame and transformers(live action)

Hollywood only know how to make big budget movies where many things expoled in different directions.
Their is no orginalitly all i see are superheroes movies or rip offs of jap horrors some talent you got their.

I anit dising you just i havent seen hollywood do any good movies like CASSHERN,STORMRIDERS,VERSUS,SHOALIN SOCCER etc compared to hollywood movies, these movies have a cheap budget, if they had access to the millions hollywood use, it would be truley ova.

The 2nd Street Fighter film has been in limbo for years now. They haven’t begun making it. Dolph Lundgren stated that he isn’t participating in the film 'cuz he’s busy working on another film(or he was at the time).
