To ShinjiGohan: 1.I dont host match vids. 2.There have been no EX tournaments with the exception of EX2+ at ECC 7,and a random philly tourny like 2 years ago and a couple of ones at the break! and no one taped matches! 3.If you think Im just shootmouthing then AIM me and lets set a random day of your choosing and lets see if we could find a place to play, and host some match vids. Bring whoever you want, or I could just play you or whatever.

There was an EX 3 tournament when it first came out, and evidently theres also a small EX2+ scene in Fresno california.
You also have Kenbou who was the Japanese EX2+ champion several years ago.
There are small scenes all over, and if you still play it shouldnāt be hard to record, even if its just casual play. So really what proof do you have?

Well in any case Iāll see for myself. And no doubt heāll likely kick my ass in any of those games. But its hard to believe that all those tournaments where there are tons of camcorders around and what not, no one ever recorded his or his other top players matches.
I donāt know about EX2, but in EX3 Rosso is WAY above Ken in just about every department. Ken has very little to offer in EX3 except for his ability to set up any partner for a Tag combo, problem is getting in with Ken is very difficult. He canāt be played too offensively cause heās left open far too often even with the aid of momentarys. Kens hovers in the mid tier depending on his partner, but once hes left alone its open season.

so you can understand what iām babling about, thereās gonna be a tournament in Maia and i canāt even go because i may have an important exam in that day! (saturdayā¦)
can you understand why i canāt show up for the tournament? and my final exams happen to be in july! if i have the time iāll show up, if not then bad luck! case closed!

Ryu sucks in EX, EX+, and EX+@. At best, theyāre middle tier. And of the shotos, Ryu is by far the worst. Slower than Ken/Kairi, less priority and hit area than Allen, less attack options than Akuma.
Ryu has no ārushdownā in EX. Not in a game where Zangief can suck you out of anything that isnāt in the air or a combo, or where DPs absolutely fail in stopping crossups, or where you can get SPDād during blockstun, or where fireballs are useless, or where Blair and Hokuto can run circles around you. This isnāt a matter of skill. Zangief is idiotic in EX because of the gameās physics.
I could go into more depth, but then Iād be repeating whatever agruments I already gave way back in 2000-2002, during the 2 other EX threads of colguile as well as this one. Its been years since Iāve touched the game, and Iām not really in the mood to try dredging up matches from memory from that long ago.
Ususally my internet connection is, at best, 1K to 3K per second on a Pentium 1 with 4Mb memory running win95. Hence: I donāt do videos. I donāt do emulators. I donāt even know what AIM is. I definitely canāt drop names of the people Iāve played against, because while Iāve actually played in all those countries I mention in my ālocationā, I rarely get to know my opponents.
But while I have no evidence that I know what Iām talking about (for all the SFEX posters know Iām just pulling shit out of my ass), I have never bullshitted anyone in this thread either, nor have I gotten into a pissing contest on āplay against me to prove me wrong!ā Either take my word on it, or leave it.
I never said that next EFT will be for July, the month that we are thinking about for 2005 Tournament is August (the best month for people who are studing) theres some other people who are at university as well, its for that reason and some other reasons that we will be having the next EFT on August.
About your SFEX: theres no chances to have any of those EX versions on the EFT (or any other major tournament that I can remember) because EX series are the series with less fans/players in Portugal (check with the people who is seting up the tournaments or check with the Portuguese fighting game channels on IRC --> PTNET), even SF3 has more players in Portugal even if its only a few. From what we are checking in the new Tournaments (first the EFT in Lisbon then FreePlay in Setubal and then PFFT in Porto) theres almost or even no players at all in a enought number to make a tournament around the EX series, most SF players in mainland want Alpha series or SF2 series.
Besides EX series: do you play anything else? Alpha series? SF2 series? CvS series? (Im down for Alpha 2) :karate:

Mondu I totally respect the fact that you not only validate your point but you took the time, even though you didnāt go too in depth I can relate to what your saying! But your right, EXās engine makes it to where there is no true rushdown. But there is āstrategic rushdownā whereas you ware your opponent down at a moderate to mid-fast pace. Avoiding attacks and limb priority, and capitolizing off it. Yeah, its hard to constantly persue Gief because of the properties of the game, his SPD and priority defraies it. Hard but not impossible!
Also I disagree when you say Ryu sucks. Earlier in another post I was actually refering āShotosā as a whole. I know Ken, Kariri and Akuma are better than Ryu. Like you said their faster and are more versatile per say.
IMO I dont think ant character in the EX series āSucksā. āEveryonesā good and moderates a certain fighting potential.
The reason I say EX2 and EX2+ are the most balance SF of all time is simply one thing āExcelā. It has an invisibilty frame once activated, and most importantly "EVERYONE has it.
But yeah Im glad you came and put things into perspective! I rarely do that, since at alot of times ppl just wont listen and they think Im just "Scrub Bantering"

Well, beyond invincibility gained in excel think about WHO is doing the excel. Imagine nanase with two bars doing excel or Sharon? Imagine vrosso excelling you on a jump in? Itās over in ALL of those cases. Juggle city and meter refill.
I love EX2 and EX2+ as EVERYONE here will tell you but listen to jester and shinji when they tell you itās broken. Itās not as good as EX3.
The EXcel system in EX2 was more balanced then the EX2+ one but the EX2+ one is the one I think should be used (and is) in future street fighters.

I canāt believe characters like garuda, blair, allen, Kairi, Hokuto, and Rosso are collecting dust while Warzard character get to fight in a JAM! WTF?
I would like to see the EX characters in either KOF MI or a Rival schools game.
I think the characters would fit in well. As long as some of the EX system was brought in.
