Ok, nico is a piece of shit site but I managed to fall into a goldmine last night.Below are a bunch of extremely practical and staple BnBs for most of the cast. Well for psx versions of sfex just use standard xa format and yes there is converters to do your own mixes out there.

Only thing missing in the gief video are bear hug starters.

Is there any footage of EX3? Tournament stuff is best, but anything showing some mid-high level play is good. It seems to be the black sheep of the EX series for some reason(anyone know why?).
I’m not sure if I’ve asked you guys this before, so sorry if I’ve been rapid-firing the same question.

@Ap0llo We can probably try and run one for each SFEX game. Maybe even fighting layer.

Though I wanted to ask Art about if the xcapture-1 can capture 2 different inputs at the same time. VGA from supergun and component for PS2 for example.

@Lord Raptor I don’t even know what you’re referring to. Is it someone doing an interview about people that like a specific old game and respond with some information about how the game works? Or is he planning on running a tournament?

@CapnWTF there isn’t much tournament footage of the game. Last tournament that I’m aware of was the one that I helped to run 2 years ago at UFGT8. But most of the players either never played the game before or hadn’t played it in 10 years so they were unaware of how the game evolved. So by large the quality of the play wouldn’t be very high. Otherwise you can check a few u2b channels for EX3 play. Between mine, IHX, messatsu (friend of IHX). They’re linked somewhere in this thread.

EX3 is the “black sheep” because of when and where it was released as well as it being a “tag game”. It came out during the drought of fighting games in 2000 as a PS2 launch title. Players were still very arcade based back then or dreamcast based as it had the better fighting game ports back then. So most of the players that might have tried it didn’t have a PS2 back then. Plus players at that point hadn’t gotten over SF must be 2d. By the time most of those players started buying PS2’s EX3 was already an old game without much exposure. It was also released 3 months after EX2+ came out to the PSX. So most players that might have been interested were busy playing EX2+ instead and hadn’t gotten a PS2 yet. To that point, A-cho features tournaments for SFEX2+ on occasion but they only run arcade tournaments so they’d never run anything for EX3 as it never came out in the arcades.

Then lastly each EX game though similar have enough differences that players prefer certain titles to others. To fans of EX+a and EX2+, EX3 is seen as a bit of a party game with only 1 round, tagging and no excels. To paraphrase someone from the latest @ Old @ Furious stream. Ap0llo was that you? Fans of ST/SFA1 may enjoy EX+a the most, fans of SFA2/SFA3/CvS2 may enjoy EX2+ the most. Fans of tag games or ST/SFA1 with a little bit spice may like EX3 the most. I like SFEX+a and SFEX3. But EX3 allows a bit more variety compared to SFEX+a with its tagging and momentaries so I prefer it more.

But with any luck we’ll have some SFEX3 tournament footage at UFGTX in 3 weeks. But time will tell on if that goes through or not.

I’d have to decline. 8 years ago I might’ve said yes. But its too little, too late and wouldn’t really impact any players. Maybe if Capcom and ARIKA were coming out with a SFEX HD collection or SFEX4 then I’d get engaged enough to do it.

Just got EX2 Plus for PS1 a few days ago and I had a question, for Gief can he kara cancel his normals into SPD like he can with his Lariat? It extended the range for his Lariats so I was wondering I could do the same for his SPD.

you should be able to kara cancel his normal into SPD if you’re fast enough. You generally get the most range from low kicks in my experience.

Thank you SG, my PS2 stick died (sadness!) so I’m playing on pad and it’s especially hard for me to do fast inputs. So I thought I would ask instead of trying to shred my thump up. If only you could fill the SRK Wiki out for this game, it’s basically empty.
