Aside from more damage, it isn’t that boss characters have more life but rather a higher defensive rating. Like say that if a regular characters armor is rated 26, the boss would be 28. and that goes into the complicated equation that I can’t make out the variables that determine how much damage is done.
To be honest I don’t know but I really doubt it. With as poor of editing that EK did I really wouldn’t be surprised that he muted the original sfx of the game and put copyrighted music on top of it.
Well part of the problem is that there really is a lack of exposure in general of characters. With a player base as small as it is here in the USA, it is too easy to say that a character sucks within your group of friends. But there might be someone 5 states over who is doing things with said character that neither you or your friends ever dreamed of… In a way its kinda like how it was before the internet. Which is why we need to get more people into the game so we can fully flesh out the characters and determine whether a certain character sucks, or the players who play as that character suck. But unlike back before the internet there really aren’t many individuals now who would really experience and come up with their own strageties and tactics. Everyone just wants to xcopy whatever someone else already did.
that ranking was based on his study of a-cho footage. I too disagree with it but the game is fairly tight in tiers anyway so whatever.
You have UoH’s in EX3 which can be kara canceled from low attacks so feint them into blocking low. Also free momentary into said UoH from any standing special and most hard attacks (most characters have at least 1 hard attack which can be canceled after hit into it).
The only thing I might heavily disagree now from looking at it again is the needed adjustments for Kairi’s status , and maybe Sagat . There just isn’t enough footage out there showcasing their match-ups .
That explains a lot. I’m not the most savvy EX player, and I know EX2 is different from EX+ but looking at that vid makes me think I’m not as bad as I thought I was. Nananse, and Blanka players were awesome, but a lot of those guys weren’t using their characters well. Garuda, Darun, and Hokuto players left a lot to be desired. I don’t think I saw Pullum once either. I can get at least 70 damage out of an excel with a character I’m decent with, and 60 from the ones I suck with. Hokuto can do over 80 easily. I didn’t see any combos with her 360 grab either even if they’re a waste of meter. Despite my gripes there was a lot of good stuff in that footage.
I also think Chun is too low, but I won’t get started. Oddly seeing that vid made me miss playing the Japanese version of EX2+, simply because of the Blood and Shadow Geist’s missing stage.
As for the surprise blows…Connecting with a guard break is way easier than hitting a surprise blow; Stuns standing, crouching, and jumping opponents…there’s no comparison. As someone who was used to set-ups with Rosso’s guard break in EX2, you can imagine my disappointment in EX3. Whether it’s Tekken, DOA, or SFEX, if I have access to an unblockable with decent speed, I can do some nasty set-ups.
Excel combos were cheap in EX2…but everyone could use them. Momentary combos in EX3 only really helped a few characters. Still I liked the tag combos in EX3.
What you mean by hacking .XA format ? If you mean it hasn’t been decrypted to play by it’s raw format or converted to other formats , then there are programs out there to do the job .
Yea most PSX games use .XA format , sometimes here and there other games use sequence music (PSF) or other streamed formats (.VAB .XA etc.)
.XA files usually contain multiple audios in one file . PSXMC253 (Free) or PSXMC353 (Not free… idk why though, there are scripts out there that decrypt stuff) can scan through these files and you can extract audio/convert it to your average common file (.WAV). I think some games like Ehrgeiz however have encrypted information where you can’t really investigate the files much and will freeze up . But I do know EX2+ files aren’t that heavily encrypted like Ehrgeiz files so it shouldn’t be that hard .
I never played EX2. I know Guile wasn’t the same as he was in EX2+, so I don’t know what the difference is other than that super.
I never thought Guile was much a problem either. Not with Skullo, Hokuto, or with Blair in the first game. Can’t say I’ve faced a really good once, just some very turtle oriented ones.
Wasn’t there an EX forum on another site a long time ago? I remember seeing some EX3 vid with some wild tag combo with Bison and Sagat.
Well, true. That’s a given though since as the vid mentioned, it’s mostly to get ready for SFxT. Still nice that a “celebrity” of sorts was messing with an EX and you know how “FGC” gets with things like that.
