STREET FIGHTER CLUB: October 24th in Brooklyn, NY

I’ll most likely be with this guy.

Are all the cool kids leaving from CF or what?

F that I’m leavin at like 4. I’ll call hal if he is already there.

Getting off of work early, so I’m going to print out my confirmation, and head down to the location.

I’ll see the rest of you guys there.

Leaving here in about an hour. I decided not to bring my PS3 stick only because I didn’t want to lug it around at work lol! I’ll be rocking Ryu and Chun-Li in both SF4 and the HD SF2 games and losing a lot most likely, but I’ll give it my best…

I was able to negotiate (chea!), so I’ll be leaving soon, quite a ride from Uptown for sure. Hope I’ll be able to get in some Guile/Boxer terrorizing (or not) in SSF2THD, and hopefully get dat swag as well!!!

See if any of you can get drinks made. I’m convinced I could have had a drink at the first SFC.

Real talk I’m at sfc right now and theres like 100 niggas here already, glad I got here early

Fuck someone save me a spot my ride isnt getting here till 6!

I’m about to head out, I’m sort of hesitant though because I’m not 18 and I don’t want to get turned at the door, I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t so out of the way. Anyone that’s on the scene already can clarify if they’re checking age or not?

all you guys are crazy

i signed up got my email confirmation and smartly Aint going

who the hell is going to an old bodega in Bushwich?! the poorest punk rock band play there

seth or whomever picked bushwich?! get that shyt out of here
broken ass location

Being a broken ass location is part of the charm.

where the reports at!!

It was fun. CF regulars = most stations having someone with 20+ wins.

Sakura seems ok. Neither top nor bottom as far as I can tell. Justin had a 50+ streak with her before leaving the game.

The goodies bag comes with Street Fighter soap and Dragon Punch energy drink.

Zangief was there. I love that guy!!!:woot::lovin::woot: … no homo.

I was waiting in line since 6:50ish, and finally got in at 9 sharp. There were already a sizeable amount of people by the time I got there, so when I saw that line from afar I knew I was at the right spot. The wait was excruciating tho. The line got even bigger after I got there…and to think this was the earliest that I could’ve gotten there. I would’ve been SOL if I had gone any later, especially with that 1+ hour commute to Chief Bodega.

When I got in, I looked around and felt…underwhelmed. Yeah, it really IS a broken down-ass former bodega…or whatever the hell it was. In a way it was a good thing, the dim, cramped environment reminded me of the arcades of old…and CTF.

They had two SSF2THD X360 kiosks on the main floor (one w/regular 360 pads, the other with 2 arcade sticks, one a Hori I believe and the other some black, boxy custom stick). The main attraction however, was at the lower level, where there were about 10-11 X360 SF4 kiosks (some w/pads, some with arcade sticks) which were all packed to the brim. I don’t doubt that some of NYC’s best players were there tonight…so Wong was there huh??? I saw A LOT of Sakura players, some tearing it up…I wouldn’t recognize any of the top CTF/Evo players if I saw them tho…because I don’t know how they look like!!!

I mostly played Super Turbo HD (bout 4 times) and unfortunately did not dominate with Guile or Boxer. It was my first time playing a fighting game with the 360 pad…it certainly lived up to its infamy. I was quite impressed with the graphics, though I dunno if its the new HD art or not, but the backgrounds and spectators seem to be lacking in animation, and that’s considering that the original SF2 games already had laughable background animation. The player sprites took a bit getting used too (again, must be the HD graphics that brings out the limited animation), but the art was superb and brings new life to this decade-plus game. It’s been delayed to hell, but I think the end result was worth it, and they put a lot of work into this one.

As for SF4…having already been beasted of a couple of dollars at CTF and beasted again in the only time that I tried it, I’d rather just sit back and watch the fireworks and play it when it comes home. So much high-level comp…that’s why I’ve never bothered getting into Third Strike, especially not now.

I won a couple of rounds, but no battles. When I left, got some sweet/funny SF swag in a gift bag (no XXL shirt tho, biggest size was XL) and joked around a bit outside with who I believe was the STHD producer (Rey Jimenez?), or so his buddies told me. I saw some other Capcom personnel around, Seth Killian and what not, and some of the guys from “Street Fighter: The Later Years” as well I think ( at Zangief dude).

All in all it was alright, peeps were friendly, good spirits, GGPO’ing, bad hygiene and whatnot . For those who may have seen me, I had an all-black NYY hat on, and a “Da Boxer” name tag. Which I had brought a digi cam…only had my puny camera phone with me.

I was surprised though man…perhaps because I rarely stop by CTF, but I didn’t know that NY had such a SF following like the turnout tonight. Did anyone stay until the end??? What happened???

just got back man. and i gota say that was one of the funnest events i have ever been. there was a ryu and zangief there also. and i also regonized that that was the gief from street fighter the laters yers. i have so many pics and got a few vids of matches. i was hyping the shit out of sf4 lol. if any1 didt no who i was i was the guy with a black hat and long hair doing the list for one of the ps3 machines. o and i was the only vega player there. i did bad and good in some matches but i have no idea how i got liike 5 sets of 5 streaks bc i dont play stick. anyways ill be uploading the pics and vids i got. was nice to play with u all and hopin to see ya again.,

Zangief was a cool guy.
But who was the guy dressed up as Ryu? That nigga needs to stop trying too hard. I went over to give him dap, and he’s all folding his arms like the actual Ryu in the game.

Oh yeah, and to the female who worked with Capcom who attended the event, thanks for giving up the Email+Cell.

I loved the Hiphop that the DJ was playing. Good vibe and ambience. You just know we aint gonna get another event like THAT again.

To everyone else, Where yo curley mustache at?

it was a cool event I went and got back about 3 hours ago nice goodie bag too LOL. I had nine wins with sagat on the ps3 that was in the back I also played the 360 version which should be only played with a stick and never on that awful control. Played one game of hd remix got my ass handed to me by some dude playing as geif overall good time i had be it winnng or loosing met some cool people too I was hoping the goodie bag came with a demo of sfiv LOL

Jeff, where the fuck you at my nigga? Show up and post!

Oh yeah, and I liked how this drug dealer came up to us while we were on the line and asked us "Why the fuck we standin’ out here?"
He was probably hoping to find some weed.

So the setups all the way in the back were PS3??? Couldn’t tell…were they stick or pad???
