Help! I’ve looked everywhere I can think of, and maybe I’m just wording it wrong but I just can’t find the answer anywhere!
Ok, here’s my problem. It’s bothering me really that just about the only thing I can’t do in Street Fighter is those annoying grabs that the computer does to me, where the opponent holds on to me, and continues to attack very rapidly scoring 10+ hits.
I just can’t even figure out how to do it on my own! Save my sanity please! ^^
If you’re using a stick, try drumming/pianoing the buttons.
Basically, you hit a row of buttons one by one in rapid succession, each button with a different finger. So like… For exaple you’d hit hk with your ring finger, then mk with your middle finger and then lk with your index finger over and over as fast as possible. Bah I don’t think I know how to explain it too well, maybe someone else can describle it better.
fastest way I’ve found in doing it is to try and press left+jab, then right+short. Try and do that as fast as possible and you should get out fairly quick.
Most SF games accept diagonal inputs but it only registers the horizontal and vertical inputs during a mash grab. Basically, pushing :df: for example will register that input as a :r: and a :d: inputs. But, you don’t want them to occur at the same time.
When rolling the stick the next input won’t occur untill you hit the next diagonal. So, starting from :df: you won’t get a new input untill you hit the :db: diagonal, which registers as a :l: input.
So, it really depends on what you’re able to do faster. Either multiple 360’s or jiggling back and forth.
And of course finger tips hitting multiple buttons in rapid succession (pianoing) is much faster than thumbs (pads). If you’re playing SF on a pad it’s probably a good idea to get a 6-button layout like a Saturn-PS2 pad. Though a custom stick is generally the best way to go.
Just wiggle the joystick (or d-pad) left and right while respecting neutral. Try not to hit the sides either. Most of the effect from mashing comes from the joystick, the buttons only add that little bit more, so try and focus on your left hand first. Once you get the hang of it you can go on to more complicated button presses.
Shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up you fucking idiot, I swear every one of your posts is the dumbest, most ignorant shit ever. He just wanted to figure out how to get as many hits as the CPU gets.
Psytrese: You can’t actually do it, the AI cheats in the SF2 series. It’ll do mash throws for 60% life and charge moves without charging, probably other stuff too. A normal human is going to get like 2~5 hits normally from a mashable throw, depending on how much the other player counter-mashes.
Circling stick is actually the best way to mash. It’s just that when you do that and recover, a special move comes out. I usually do 3 circles and then wiggle left and right.
Another random FYI. you can also start mashing before the first hit of the throw in most SF games. It starts accepting inputs as soon as the throw’s active grab frames occur.
[Edit]:
The great thing about internet web forums is they have an “ignore” function. Instead of having to read something that bothers you and trying to tell the people to shut up, just add them to your ignore list.
