Hey guys =],

I have decided to start a Ladder system for Street Fighter Alpha 3 (on kaillera using Mame32k .64 ONLY). This ladder system will be invite only and will show legit rankings of the top SFA3 players on Kaillera. I talked this over with a few friends and they all agree this is a neat idea! :tup:

** What the heck is a ladder? - **

A ladder is an ongoing method of ranking players who are competing in a game. It is called a ladder because it operates on the principle of rank or rungs. Your ranking/rung on the ladder indicates how good you are as compared to the other players. When you sign up you start at the bottom of the ladder. Your goal is to climb the ladder to the #1 spot.

Up, up and away!

When you beat someone you move up half the distance between their rank and yours. So if you were at the #100 rank and beat the #1 player, you move to #50. All players ranked 50-99 slide down one rung to make room for you.

Down we go.

What happens if you lose? Your rank remains the same. You lose rungs on the Ladder when other players jump ahead of you, forcing you down. The only exception comes when you lose to the person directly beneath you. In this case you switch spots.

How will this work?

Challenge a player that is part of the league to a set (2\3, or 3\5) after agreeing on a server. After the set is over the loser will report the outcome to the MyLeague SFA3 website (www.myleague.com/sfa3/). The winner will rise in rank.

You are allowed to have 3 (might change to 5) sets with the same user (to prevent abuse of the ranking system).

NOW, this SFA3 league is invite only (to keep the trolls away but I might change my mind if it becomes a hassle)

If you are interested in participating and joining, Post your Kaillera username and your email addy and i’ll send an invitation ASAP!

The only rules I will enforce are ABSOLUTELY NO USE OF AUTOFIRE and NO MACRO’S! If you are reported using autofire\macro’s then you will be banned from the league

Remember… THIS IS FOR USE ONLY WITH MAME32k .64, NO KAWAKS!

EDIT: I was thinking of how this could work after WhiteSilver IM’d me… I was thinking…

Why not play for ladder rank, best 2\3 or 3\5. After the set the loser and winner report who won and thats that. Sort of like a money match but youre playing for ranking =]

I think 2 out of 3 is too quick. I warm up after 3 matches, hehe. I prefer to make it the first person to have 5 wins, my suggestion anyways.

BTW what would happen to people that won’t figth for like a month or something like that especialy in the case of top ten players.

I think that when players dont play for a good month or so, They go down the ladder while the others go up. So basically, the best way to go up is to play as much as possible.

Besides, if say I was #1 and I go down to #25, then it will be fun for me to go up the ladder again. Dont you think.

Great news guys, let me know what you think of this…

I let Moosehead (owner of the Anti3d servers on kaillera) know about the league and he thought it was a great idea, infact, he’s going to help me run this =)

We will also be starting leagues for the games most frequently played on Anti3d according to Moosehead, which are KOF2002, MvC, and ST (I will consider XvSF)

seems like itll be hard to keep track of, with like… casual matches and shit… then again, if used sporadically, wouldnt be so bad… but im sure theres going to be crazy people who want every fucking match recorded or some shit… but who knows…
A general ladder system is a good start… would be nice to have more of a basis in a tourney setting, but well see about that after things get started…

Ok, I just activated my account to the SFA3 Ranking system. Whoever is rdy to have their first match to be ranked, Just tell me when, or tell me when you guys see me in the servers.
