Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max

Finally, after all the pointless other rehashes I’ll but A3 again. Time to clock more hours into my PSP.

I heard you can config the game for CvS1-type controls (I’d rather that setup than have to use the shoulders for normals), can anybody here confirm that?

Don’t really know what youre talking about, but I have wireless.

He is talking about that picky setup that you need in order to play online. First you need a wired internet connection, then you need a wifi card/usb adapter/whatever that serves as an acces point. A wireless router isn’t enough, except you’re using that firmware hacked linksys/bufallo router that are listed in the xlink forum. Setting up an internet connection for you PSP is such a hazzle =/

Mr Mort: Are you using firmware 2.5? I was wondering if you could use PSPsetx and play it on 2.0 firmware.

FOOL! That’s blasphmey. starts to cry While I don’t own the game I just can’t believe that a “simple” port beats even MotM. That game was flawless through and through (no really it was. Someone name a fault!).

How are the diaganols and 360/720 motions?

I don’t know for sure since I don’t own the game but I imagine that it will since the same was done for Darkstalkers.

if it was only that easy…

Does eagle have unblockable v-ism combos? What kepps him from doing ching! st mkxxhcf mp(while afterimage is still hitting) crossup into whatever?

can anyone confirm if A3 Max is arcade accurate.

Try Cody CC (easy to do)
Try Akumas OTG

What is Cody’s again?

well…

VC2, c.Strong, [QCF+Forward, f+Roundhouse, whiff QCF+Forward, s.Fierce], repeat brackets, when you get to corner do: s.Fierce, QCB+Jab xn (if you fall back, use QCF+Forward once instead of a Criminal Upper)

VC3, c.RH, f+RH, whiff QCF+Forward, [s.FP, whiff QCF+Forward], when you get to the corner [s.Fierce, whiff QCB+Jab] for like 2 sets, then do s.Fierce, j.Short, CC j.Shorts for his infinite.

still having trouble just do this near corner - VC2: QCF+Forward, then do [s.RH, whiff QCB+Jab xN] near end do
s.Fierce (or you can do c.FP here too), j.Short, CC j.Shorts for his infinite.

Sounds like I have everything needed…anyone wanna tell me how yet? :looney:

Nah, I actually let my shit update to 2.6. I gave up on the emu’s and homebrew scene a long time ago. I had some fun with the NES emus but once the bogus bricker flash hit, I gave up.

I WAS running 2.0 until I got this game, but instead of flashing with the 2.5 japanese that was on the disc, I updated to the U.S. 2.6.

You could also try and see if Dhalsim’s moves are as slow as they are on Dreamcast. Or try Cody oder Nash Crossups, as they are friggin hard to do on Dreamcast whereas they are easy on arcade.

These are just some easier methods to check if the game is arcade accurate and require much less input =)

Ok, I guess I’ll have to test it on my own then. Too bad the US release is still two weeks away…can’t wait…

I found this on a forum and wanted to see if modding it this way would help alot in playing fighting games on the psp, Other than that horrible d-pad it came with, it’s simple and easy check out…

Here’s the materials you will need.

1 NES sleeve or similar thin flexible plastic

Small phillips screwdriver

Hot glue (I like hot glue because it can easily be removed if you mess up or want to revert back to factory state)

Clear tape (Not necessary but makes life easier)

Canned air (Not necessary but I don’t think you want all that dust in your system)

Petroleum jelly or vegetable oil (Not necessary but reduces friction between the dpad and rubber pad)

Razor blade or scissors

I wanted to see if someone would try this and see if it works…Im in the process on doing this, just need to by some felixble plastic and Glue Gun.

Mine didn’t come wit a D-Pad. I think I’ll just wait for aanother 3rd party design or, if I really get annoyed at it, I’ll just have open my PSP up or buy Zero 3 with the d-pad.

Hey nice, thanks for the link. I tried it and it works great =) And it doesn’t take too long either. I didn’t use hot glue, just ordinary glue and I also don’t have canned air either, which is very very unfortunate. I need to open the PSP again and clean it later.

About performance: I can do all the quarter and halfcircle motions without any problems. Double qcf motions work as well. I think that the custom cross that you planted in your PSP wears out after a while, so you might want to exchange it after some time. Right now everything’s great though =) I didn’t need to worry about the warranty either, since I got my PSP from a friend in Japan and can’t send it in anymore, so yeah =D Try the mod if you can.

By the way, another other material you can use to substitute the NES sleeve? And does this make diagonal commands such as jumping backwards/forwards easier?
