I’m getting the game today. I hope Ingrid is good.
Ingrid’s pretty good in this game. Jumping HP and crouching HP are your friends for an easy to execute 2 hit combo. Her Super Art on Xism is really strong, dishes out a lot of damage but you have to be a bit lucky to land it. The last link in my sig is pretty good for Ingrid’s pros and cons, just for CFE though. CFE Ingrid ran on CFAS’s engine, you could only dish out one kind of super on level 1, 2 kinds of supers on level 2 and could only unleash the third one on level 3. Now you can dish out the first two supers on level 1, I forget if on Aism if you could do the third one on level 1 but her third super (symbol hits you, hoists you up) is the only super she has on Xism. It has longer range than it has in CFE too. I’ve never been too good with Vism so I can’t comment much on Vism Ingrid. I’m mostly an Xism guy, followed by Aism.
Ingrid seems really good in V from what I’ve played…I’ve managed to do such simple stuff as f+MK, f+MK, etc.
I’m not sure about you guys but I just got the game yesterday, and the regular sony d-pad is perefect. I can pull off any super even all of guiles specials (diagonals) with ease. After testing this out I got my friend, who is a Zangief nut, to try it out and he’s sold on it. He can pull off 360’s easily on the original d-pad. After reading this thread and alot of see alot of problems with everyone else I was really suprised.
When i first got my psp 6 months ago the d-pad was horrible. When I tried my friends who had gotten his 4 months earlier the d-pad was amazing. The thing is , well i think, you need to break your d-pad in. The more you use it and work into it the better it gets (especially dpad). Hopefully this helps out those who have been having problems with their dpad and dont have to stick on Capcom’s custom add on.
Crap I need to break it in better than :wonder:
Did any one try the mod yet? And does it make the pad a lot better?
I just got Alpha 3 from the mail, bless you Capcom sales rep lady, yesterday and it came with the fabled dpad acessory. Let me tell you what, it makes the game more playable since it feels more natural to rotate your thumb in quater circle motions compared to the stock PSPos pad. Actually it doesn’t hurt my hand much as the Nubytech SFII Xbox Dpad.
The load times are relatively quick and much faster than Darkstalkers. The music is great and reverse dramatic battle is helluva intense. I just hope I can spare enough coin to get a USB wireless adapter that works with KAI even though I have a Linksys 801.11b router. Only if the Nintendo wifi adapter works with KAIx.
I need to play people on that game. Another thing, what is the best sticky material if the dpad wears off since they are hard to place in the right location?
I did the masking tape mod and wow…i couldn’t even do hurricane kicks and now i can do everything naturally. Cole - don’t do that crazy nes mod, do the tape mod, i’ll kick down the screw driver, tape and hole punch if you need it.
Question - has anyone tested out crouch cancelling?
im curious the tape mod is not the one that got posted in another thread right??
I was just gonna ask…How close is this to the arcade? To me it seems VC activation invincibility doesnt exist, but they do much more guard damage then the PS/DC version. I haven’t tried crouch cancelling/infinites yet to the point I can definetly say they work. I’m not 100% familar with all the A3 CC stuff to try…I just remember one Ryu one where you cancel the hopkick with the short hurricane to pop them up, then go to work.
How do you guys think the new characters stand?
My stupid ass dpad add-on fell of after TWO DAYS of play. :lame:
I’ll take it!
does yun have the moves from CVS2 or 3s?
He’s CVS2 Yun
Well I think maki plays like guy
yun was toned down from his original 3S design. Maybe to fit in
eagle is fun to play as but most of his moves can be stopped by the computer.
His stick swing is too slow, his running stick stab misses mostly, his clothesline move only hits once and then the opponent falls down rather than multiple hits, and his flying jump in always misses or gets interuped. But still I am glad he is in it because he is part of the very first SF.
I still don’t know about ingrid.
With a name like CapMaster does that mean you play mostly capcom games?
Do you suggest devil kings, haunting ground, and without warning?
Thanks in advance.
Actually yes hellhound thats what my name ment…Awesome. I haven’t played any of those so I can’t help you. Sorry. I’m most familar with MM, SF, and RE.
so if i did the nintendo sleeve trick and put the dpad on top of that would it make it wayy better you think?
where ya get this? Any instructions?

I stole it from here:

Hope that links…gamefaqs can sometimes be little bitches when it comes to linking to their site. Here are some pics directly from that post with the guy explaining a little bit more:

- I believe the green circles are screws that you need to unscrew, red are not necessary.

- just showing that you apply one layer of masking tape over itself and use a hole punch to create the pieces that you are going to use when you mod your psp.

- showing you where to put the tape
People have suggested doing 3 layers of tape some have said 5 or 6 is even better. I did 3 and it worked just fine.

dammit i dont have a hole puncher or a glue gun for that matter…
I have a dumb question…
Does anyone know if a person with the JPN version of SFA3MAX can play together with someone else with a US version of the game?
I just got the game today, and damn it, I’m not looking forward to having to mod the D-pad, but yeah, diagonals just don’t seem to work. Ironically though, I seem to be able to do 360’s / 720’s much easier than I can on the regular PS2 pad, tell me that makes sense?.. Or do you only have to hit 4268 to do a 360? If so that DOES make sense.
Also, does anyone else have negative edge problems with the “L” button? It might just be me, but it seems like I negative edge that shit 95% of the time.
