I absolutely love it when one of the creative talents behind the SF Comic shows up here to share his point of view and share artwork. As i said before, i really enjoyed the artistic style of this issue’s backup story and this is coming from someone who absolutely hates both of the characters involved. (Anyone that plays the games a lot would understand why. Sakura is too cheap!)
Ale Garza:
This is a long shot, but do you happen to have any other sketches you made for the series? I mean, did you happen to draw any of the other characters just for hell of it? I’m sure all of us would love seeing what you’ve got in your sketchbook! : )
Hah, Hah
Here’s a challenge for the Udon staff: You guys have done a great job illustrating supers now try customs! Start with Sakura’s easy mode V-ism and her killer CvS2 CC! (just joking, I don’t think customs can be portrayed in any reasonable manner.)
Hey guys, thanks for the positive response! I know you guys love your Street Fighter, and honestly I love hearing your honest opinions! I could’ve easily gone my usual fare, and made both of these girls the super cute style I usually go for. but for mine, I wanted to give Erik something a little different. I hope he enjoyed them:) Oh and btw, here’s a piece I did for psm a ways back, enjoy…
I’ve already posted above with my support for the back up stories but I just read EK’s post and thought I’d add some more.
Erik, theres always going to be a set number of people that don’t like something. Theres almost always a small minority of those that badmouth (constructive or not).
What I’d like to point out though is that like many things in life. Its the negative people who tend to be much more vocal. Take me for example. I love the series (I have all the regular covers and 1 of the #0’s) and have been a reader of these SRK boards for a long while (2 years). However look at my joined date. I’ve not even made many posts (5 maybe).
So once again, a big thank you to both Udon and guest artists for posting here. I for one really appreciate it.
I thoroughly enjoyed 8. As for the back up story, I felt at first glimpse that they were pretty funny looking. But thats whats so great about featuring different artist, the diversity of the art. I don’t wanna see different artist try to draw in the same style. That takes away from the fun of it all.
Anyways, love 8 and loving the series so far. Keep it up guys.
Hey Udoneko, you may not want to hear this but I’m pretty sure it’ll happen again. Maybe not in this thread but maybe for #10, #11, #12 or whatever (and this isn’t meant as a slight for whoever’s doing the backups for those issues since I don’t even know who’s doing them anyways). When someone either forgets your warning or just plain doesn’t care and decides to voice their articulate opinion.
These are the biggest fans of Street Fighter here, and if you think about it, only the most dedicated would be so nit picky as to voice their opinion on artwork if they thought it was subpar. Don’t forget the word fan comes from the word fanatical.
It may be an ugly truth but the fact is, when people step in to a more public vocation such as holding public office, being a pro athlete, or being a movie star, they can expect to enjoy less privacy and less protection under the law from slander (I remember something like that from the ONE law class I took =b)
If Michael Jackson were to sue a trash paper for everytime they published that he was pregnant with some alien, he’d be 100 times richer then Bill Gates… Actually he wouldn’t since there’s probably just as much garbage printed about Bill Gates as well
Granted, your coming on here has nothing to do with legality and is a very much appreciated favor Udoneko. I hope that you don’t stop coming here since I really do rely on your updates for when we can expect upcoming issues to hit the stores. The behind the scene comments confirming the more observant posters on not as obvious easter eggs is a treat too. It’s kinda like getting the director’s commentary as a bonus feature on a DVD.
BTW, good job on issue 8. Look forward to issue 9.
Well, how about this: let’s try something that’s never been attempted on this site and NOT cop the sassy attitudes… these guys don’t have to be here, and they won’t be here for much longer if you can’t put a cork on the crude insults. You’ll be losing everyone the priveledge of having this forum.
Seeing those pencils, gives me a stronger respect for you and a different outlook on your work and I admire you as an artist a whole lot more. Thanks for showing them. I’m an aspiring artist myself. I have PM’ed please respond when its feasible. Thank you for your contribution and efforts to the SF project.
Well, I was the first to say I didn’t like Ale Garza’s Back Up Story, though all I said was I didn’t like it and would never use the word ‘suck’ because I do realize how hard it is to do any sequential art. All the same, I appreciate Garza Posting his Pencils here and if he’s willing to try again in the Future using a different approach I’m all for it.
Guys, what you need to do is tell why it “sucks” instead of just saying it. Elaborate on it some.
There is a word called critique, and without it how are you supposed to evolve on what you are doing? Udon, ale, especially loroca should take the advise seriously. We respect your comic , but sometimes you gotta respect the viewers also unless they are being a dickhead.
Loroca plays Mortal Kombat and not streetfighter btw.
