If they add a decent amount of revisions it’s worth it but if it’s like 2 or 3 characters then it should be DLC. Capcoms hand is in your pocket but between Megaman (+ 1-4 of the x series) and with SF plus others they are just giving a handjob, not robbing you.

Capcom’s been doing that since they started releasing home versions of their games. Minimal new content, new-game-sized price tag. Suck it up.

I remember paying $80-90 for one cartridge though during snes and genesis days before so this is not really that bad.and yep…you had SF2 turbo or Special CE for genesis then Super SF2 like back to back
Very few games were that much. I agree with you; games aren’t expensive, then or now, but yeah, you’re way off on prices. I bought a couple games for $90-$100, but it was less than a handful. On the other hand, many new SNES games were $30-$50; very few quality PS3/XBOX360 games are that price.
Either way, the shit isn’t expensive. It is a couple hours work, and for any adult with their life situation in order, it isn’t a big deal to drop that every couple of months.
If there is such an update, I will anticipate it. I’ll pay full console price if it means a revamping of the game ie. Double Impact update to Third Strike. But now that it’s the digital age and most games can feature DLC or be patched, I would rather pay for it electronically to save shelf space. I guess a good example would be T5.5.

What is so bad about updating/patching a game? Now, if they are making you pay for something that will fix bugs and other things, I say HELL NO! Because that is something that they should fix for free. Now downloading extra stuff, like characters, moves, music and backgrounds then why not? I believe this would be cheaper than putting it on a disc.
What would you rather pay $10.00 to $15.00 for a download or $30 to $40 for a disc or even buy a whole new game?

It divides the community, plain and simple. Gamers today are fucking cheap bastards. They release SF4 Dash as an update for $15 as DLC and there are going to be a bunch of casuals skipping on it. If they went the DLC route with SF4 Dash. It will only make Capcom rush production to get it out, releasing a barebone update. If they release a new Disc game, they will make sure to add a lot of features to entice the same demograph that brought SF4 to double dip.

It would have to be a free update or a new game. It there are balance changes, you wouldn’t be able to play with people who don’t have the update. Let’s say Sagat gets some nerfs, and you play with someone who doesn’t have the update, does this mean his Sagat will be better than yours? This couldn’t happen anyway, but even if it could it would lead to many problems.
And Capcom will not do a huge update for free.
I, myself, have no problem with buying a new game, full price or not. Even the people who are against it will have to buy it or quit playing, as anyone who is any good at SFIV will have abandoned vanilla IV. Yeah, some people will have a problem with that, but unless Capcom feels like being generous, we have a new disc coming.
