I’m not sure that anyone ever answered your initial question, but yes you can just use the steam serial in your existing install.

You can already do this.

Go into your /CAPCOM/STREETFIGHTERIV/Battle/Stage/ directory.

STG_CHN.emz is China day.
STG_CHX.emz is China night.
STG_USA.emz is the drive-in.
STG_LAB.emz is Seth’s lab.

All you have to do in your case is copy STG_TRN.emz (the training room) four times, rename it to each of those, and overwrite them. Then you’ll get the training room instead of those levels. I have them replaced with STG_RVR.emz, the Tokyo overpass. :3

However, the music will still be of the stage. So if you want to replace those, go to /CAPCOM/STREETFIGHTERIV/Battle/System/ and follow all the above steps, but with the BGM_XXX.csb files this time. However, you can find your character-specific songs now, so if you want Ken’s theme for instance playing during a certain stage, go nuts.

I figured the files could be swapped but I wasn’t sure if it would have any issues such as freezing. Thanks for the info.

Indestructible? Maybe. I’m not sure it’s even in that directory, but all the background music is. Here’s all the BGM files, the ones with “bk” are the backups I made for the ones I overwrote.

A lot are self-explanatory, but I haven’t tested any of 'em outside of the stages/music I wanted to replace.

Edit: Yes, after trying it out, Indestructible is in there and can replace background music. BGM_AVX_E.csb is the English version, BGM_AVX_J.csb is the Japanese.

Well, the 360 version certainly plays Indestructible as stage music sometimes… It’d be great if we could remove it from the menu music too. I guess some testing is in order.

Nice man, any way to find out what the other stages are? or is there a list anywhere to look it up?

I so want to get rid of the announcer.

He can say “Round 1, fight” “xxx Wins” “perfect” “Ultra Combo Finish!” “Super Combo Finish!” and “Time over!”

Other than that, I don’t want to hear him say anything.

That also happened to me sometimes. I solved it by pressing each unlock button several times (using the trainer), or by verifying that every cheat value is actually 1, when using Cheat Engine (sometimes it remains 0, I think due to some type of conflict with normally unlocked data), then try to force the save more than one time (e.g., change the sound volume, back, save, then change the sound volume again, back, save, then exit to the grey entry screen and try to enter to the game lobby. If it succeeds, the save is no longer corrupted, and everything is unlocked;)

Achievements?!

Do this codes unlock the achievements!!! Im curious about that… another question: do this codes work with an online profile? By the comments i have read so far, the people who are getting the save data corrupted, are the ones trying to modify an online profile.

I did this to my online profile and it worked. Did it before I did anything else on it though. Yes it does unlock the achievements.

You will not face any repercussions from STEAM/Valve over using single-player cheats (such as this), or even multiplayer cheats in non-Valve games.

I hope you’re right, decided to risk it as the bug which means you can’t completley turn off bg music was annoying me too much =).

Could incorporate this in to a user made patch… but I’m still a bit cautious about file modification/memory injection for now, at least until the game’s been out a few weeks and I know no one’s had their accounts banned =).

Steam often have delays of up to a few weeks between detecting memory editing and banning accounts (and they do check all the time with many games, not just when you’re playing online), so just to be on the safe side I’ll regain all characters and titles the long way :xeye:, though nice work anyway guys.

They’re often quick to do so on XBL. Since they have no method of checking for cheesing of unlocks, there won’t be any actions taken there. And you can still do anything you want offline, of course.
