Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

No, no. It’s because I’m like the White Sanford Kelly.

Have you managed to get that palmod nude palettes for Clayfighter going yet? I thought that was your mission in life?

Ok that’s odd. That could be a hardware issue yeah. I’ve never had this issue. My PC is well beyond what ggpo/fba need for 3S so I never have any kind of slowdown and I have never observed that.

That’s unfortunate though for some people. I would assume since it’ll be tuned for whatever console that probably wouldn’t be an issue.

Funni suhn.

Tuesday’s coming up! Can’t wait!

such a simple easy thing and I never thought about it. Everyone should do this. THANKS

I can’t wait for 3’s Online to drop.

I’m sick of this random, baby, turtle-fest game known as SF4.

The thing I really missed about 3’s when I was playing 4’s was that in 3’s, no matter what character you use, as long as you’re better than your opponent, you will most likely ALWAYS win. Case in point, Kuroda, RX, etc…

In 4’s, if you’re using a good character vs a disadvantaged character, the game system allows for randomness to let the more inexperienced player likely to win simply because of the system’s variables (focus attack, dash length/speed, Ultras, etc…)

I’m really looking forward to the revival of 3’s.

I agree with this.

It’s not just about pressing buttons and dumb option selects like 4’s. If 4’s is a game of “chess” than 3’s is a game of “chess being played on 3 different tables at once”.

Ryu original white costume w/ red bandana, Denjin Hadouken Super, LET’S GO!

Ya know, its funny to me when people post stuff like this, like JWong can’t beat good players using random select in SF4 just like Kuroda can in 3S.

I mean I get it guys, you don’t like SF4, but lets try to tone down the hyperbole a bit, ok?

J Wong beats everyone at everything … poor example. SFIV is still a fighting game and you have to know basics. its just a very scrubby fighting game that pretty much anyone can win at.

thats why you have all these nobodies making names for themselves in SFIV. newb game that takes very little skill to win at. the pros still put in the extra work and just know what to do to win, so using a Wong or someone like him is just stupid, when you have the majority of players who play that are NOT pros and know that the game can go either way.

Capcom made a cashcow of a game that any 5 year old can play, and there videos of that to proof it. of course its easy, you wouldnt have as many players play now if they couldnt win at it. when sf2 came out, at that time people thrived for competition, now people just want easy wins without much practice or experience, thats why a crappy piece of shit game like SFIV can please so many fuckfaces.

And Kuroda can beat everybody with everybody in the game. He’s also a poor example, and I wish people would stop bringing it up as this almighty defense of “See!? Low tier can win in this game!”

The rest of your post was the usual 3s fanboy baseless bullshit about SF4, how it takes little-to-no skill to win, and children can play it, and blah blah blah. You guys really need to work on your criticism, its getting really stale. C’mon, you guys play 3s, the supposed holy grail Darwinism of fighting games, shouldn’t your comments ATTEMPT to be a little more intelligent, and not sound like bitter YouTube commentators?

children do play SFIV, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. AND yes, I HAVE seen them beat older players in that garbage game.

I am a fan of SF3, but I don’t care one way or another about SFIV and its effect on sf3, so my unbiased opinion remains, its trash. Kuroda does not ALWAYS win, he loses, just not as much. and it IS because of how beast he is. Justin Wong beat a top US player’s Chun with only using Sean to win a small tourney.

so lets push that aside so that won’t be an example anymore. I have played a good deal (more than I liked) of SFIV. it gets super boring after 5 minutes. I don’t care if I win or lose, there is no satisfaction in that for me because the game is so boring and the options are so limited. Its really a garbage game to me even though I love all the characters (minus that horrible Viper bitch), that doesnt make it good. in fact , having all those characters you guys love so much limits the game even further, since they have basic movesets with little to offer other than connecting a few jabs to other moves and other little combos (which gets boring very quickly as well).

it all looks bad too. the game looks way to “computery” for me. its not real looking nor anime-ish/ the faces on most models suck and they are are just plain annoying to look at.

the music is bad (most of it). the game caters to newbs in that everything is laid out for you and many times you get a chance to come back easily with a lucky or just well timed ultra. its sloppy and slow as you have too much time to think about what your opponent is doing or what your next move is. its a poorly done fighter that gets praise because of the sf2 cast in it and that its made by Capcom and has a number “4” next to it.

the game cares more about getting your extra money on all the costumes and other things you have to pay for and trying to look pretty (notice I said trying). It is poorly thrown together, nothing new or innovative (in any good way at least) and it only cares about being flashy with little effort to earn that flashiness.

I could go on, but really, I think you are in the wrong forum in the first place. I’d see you to the door, but you can find yourself out. feel free to come back and talk about some 3s or how sfiv sucks, but dont come in here expecting pity and approval for your comments on how sfiv isnt bad and we are all fanboys for thinking it is. and I post a lot on many forums and not trying to write a novel here (I do that in my spare time), I am usually just quick and to the point and if you dont understand the countless great advice, videos, and other tools that your ass should be so lucky to have on the internet nowadays, you will see plenty of “intelligent” 3S info there. fuck you and good day.

WTF video games people, holy shit

JWong almost won a SSF4 tournament a couple weeks ago with Dan, so again, stop using the Kuroda thing.

As for your other points, good, your posts are improving. Your complaints about SF4 are a step above the usual dribble that comes from 3S fans, even if they are about shallow and somewhat baseless things. I wish more would try that, even if you ended it sounding like an asshole, but I guess you can’t hide your true nature.

Everyone has their reasons. It doesn’t matter what they are. I don’t have to explain why exactly I feel the sf4 series isn’t as enjoyable. I can’t even explain to myself every facet and why it isn’t my cup of tea.

Taking the holier than thou road is a bit much. So a lot of people think sf4 is shit. And? Why would that matter to you?

When someone says “3S is stupid it consists of 3 characters and random parries” I don’t care. If that person eventually spends enough time playing the game, their opinion will change. If they don’t, it won’t and who cares then; they don’t even play the game.

I played sf4 and ssf4 from launch hoping to find the same fun and excitement and sense of growth as I do in 3S. I was forcing myself to practice, trying to feel comfortable in the system. Eventually I’d had enough and told my friends i’m returning to 3s and not going to bother with 4 anymore. It simply isn’t my thing.

Not for any really specific reasons I can absolutely nail down. Just because it does not feel good to me and I did not enjoy playing it nearly as much.

I realize you can’t understand this but the people who still play 3s now play it because for them it’s a bit magical in some way. Maybe because of fond memories at the arcade, maybe because it was the first fighting game they tried to actually understand, playing with friends growing up, etc. So just give up trying to tell someone why their dislike of ‘x’ and their like of ‘y’ isn’t enough explanation. It is possible to simply take someone’s word for it.

Sorry, I just find some of the reasons why they enjoy game “x” over game “y” to be absolutely hysterical, either in their ignorance or far-fetched reasoning. You’re free to like what you like, but I’m also free to point and laugh in your general direction.

That’s fine.

Just know that you’re a douchebag and no one likes you.

I’ll try to manage anyway. I’m good like that.

When 3SOE comes out and the board gets filled with scrubs wanting to learn, I’ll be the one beacon there to say, “Hey, don’t sweat it kid, in a lot of ways its easier to learn than SF4. Now let me teach you a little thing called parrying…”

And I would strangle you for that. The scrubs don’t want to learn. I just fought 3 Ken scrubs in a row on GGPO. These people don’t want to learn, they just want to push buttons until they win with the most minimal amount of effort required of them.

Some scrubs are always gonna be scrubs, that’s just the way it. But we were all scrubs once, and we took the time to learn the game and appreciate it for what it is.

To get back on topic of things I’d like to see in 3SOE:

-Remixed Music with the option to choose the Original: While never achiving the iconic status of the SF2 tunes, SF3 series has pretty damn good music. I like to see them take these songs and give them a higher-quality makeover of sorts. More importantly, try and get rid of that awkward ass “welp the round is over time to switch to the next part of the song” moment. And, for all the “change is bad!” types, give them the option to have the original sound as well.

Really that’s the only change I could see people not hating, that along with 2I and NG music.

More music and more backgrounds is always a good thing, anyone who complains about that not being pure 3s is not worth listening to.

I mute 3s a lot of the time, the same music over and over can get boring. More backgrounds in the form of 2I or brand new backgrounds would be amazing
