Balance makes everything more interesting. People get annoyed seeing the same characters over and over. Happens in every fighter.

The āseeing the same characters over and overā thing is more of a player problem. Most people are boring. Most people want 12 different shoto headswaps.
Most people actually think Akuma and āEvil Ryuā are cool. They really think that. Grownups.
Iāll agree with that.
Akuma is cool. Evil Ryu on the other hand is just a crappy non canon character (save for the short moment he came during SF1).
But shoto are cool, even Sean. They are not the only cool characters in this game, but they are my favā. I mean design wise.
Gameplay wise, I like shoto, but itās not like I really prefer them.
But shoto are popular because in SF2 and SF4 (which are the most popular), hado trap is a quite effective but simple strategy. Itās simpler than pressing aggressively, it doesnāt require many complicated inputs, and itās viable to win. What else ?
Of course in 3.3, itās not so effective (if not effective at all) but when you have the habit to pick shotos, you just pick shoto.
And at the same time, even if you want to be more aggressive, with BnB combos you will deal decent damages. I mean, Mk>SA3 has a quite simple input, no charge partitions, no super jump cancel, no links, no 720ā¦
But I guess everybody here knows thoses points.

And I for one enjoy Chun mirrors. Theyāre way more exciting than say, Twelve mirrors.
Ken mirrors are the funnest to watch though.
The occasional Chun mirror is ok.Grand finals and most of top 8 being Chun mirrors at EVO for 5 years straight isnt(yeah I know EVO wasnt the spiritual home for 3s but whatever).
I donāt want a rebalance but in my opinion Necro landing a full juggle corner combo into stun,Urien rolling the dice with Aegis, Dudley corner mixups into sick looking combos or Hugo red parry into 720 are far more entertaining than seeing Chun low forward super twice and throwing in a st.fierce/back fierce to take the round.
Should how entertaining fights are for spectators be a reason for tweaking an 11ish year old game? Fights are exciting to play no matter who you use or play against. I understand the perspective and I agree, chun li isnāt always an exciting character to watch. But thatās the thing. The game is for playing, not watching.
Iām sure when youāre playing the Chun mirror its fun just like Sagat vs Sagat in vanilla IV was interesting to play but pretty boring for spectators.Its true there are some interesting spacing/footsies battles in chun chun.
Theres just nothing that visually exciting happening on screen.I donāt think its a reason for tweaking the game, I just dont think chun mirrors show the game for what it really is and some players get the wrong idea about the game and that annoys me.
Chun mirrors are fun to play, but super top level Chun mirror is amazing to watch(MOV, Rikimaru, sometimes Nuki, even Koshun).
