Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

Can you change the health and life bars back to normal so the game looks identical to the arcade while playing?

I’m 99% sure you couldn’t change the lifebars.
Dipswitches was just system direction rebranded and display settings didn’t have anything that would change the life bars.

Let me say though, that when I was playing, the life bars didn’t bother me at all.
I mean when you’re playing, you don’t really pay attention to the detail on them, just how much life each player has.

I did like the stun bars though. They seems bigger. (not in length but in width of course.)

Cant say i care much about the life bars…

Honestly if I wanted to play the game in all it’s glory, I’d find an arcade. 3soe being 100% like the real deal would just be a fraud because nothing beats sitting down in front of a Japanese cabinet, scan-lines, nice sound, big screen, inches away from your face, competitors beside you, behind you and on the other side of the cabinet. I’ll miss someone putting a quarter on my cabs screen, obviously thinking I’d lose and having them take their shit back and put it on the other cab. Oh man, the arcade experience is too good.

someone build a cab for this dude and put OE in it! haha.

I’d be downnnnnnn

It turns out I could’ve made it on to the 5 on 5…;_;

And the list would be that much worse than it already is.

Pwned.

Well now that I know you aren’t playing, I have no reason to watch the exhibition.

I played a lot of matches On the evo setups and I find no faults so far.also depending on what your home setup is the display options can help with lag on a HD setup. They have a big tv that was laggy as hell but seemed to improve when u swith it to arcade display. I think all strike fans will be pleased

and when Ono is around u can give him a hard time about how long a perfect port took to get here and he eats it’s lol. he’s a cool guy.

this, however untrue/trollish in nature…is goddamn hilarious.

I can not force myself not to laugh at this.

;_;

What should the default format in the OE version be in tournaments and stuff like that? People may use whatever they want at home but there are so many filters and ratios so there really should be one standard we use. I guess the one that represent the original arcade look and ratio will make most sense?

Did we mention we’d be charging you double for it?

Amir is in. There shall be dicks dipped in nacho dip to be enjoyed! DOUBLE CHILI FRIES! (Now if only they got Rock to commentate as well).

My vote would go to whatever the default settings are, except fullscreen

4:3, arcade style.

This thread is going nowhere.

They arent going to do tournaments on a 4:3 tv just like they arent going to do them on Black & white tv. That’s on Capcom to make sure the transition is smooth.

Much respect to those playing on cabs, but if that is how you like this game, play it that way, the other 98% of the world will be playing on a console.

You might as well consider this an entirely new game and make your adjustments.

All I care about is how identical to the original is it? And if not, are the changes going to be improvements, flaws, or just wasted opportunities?

Arcade perfect? No
Gameplay experience? Sure
Artwork? NO
Replays? Better
Training mode? Ugh…
Challenge mode? Sure, but who really cares, just do a better training mode where I can do what I want.
Did they remake this game to catch a lot of newbies and load it with extras that dont really improve the game? Of course they did…

Overall score: Looks like it will be a C-

Just so its clear, I have a lot of respect for the guys who have been playing this game for years, the tournament pros for keeping it alive, capcom for releasing it, and the newcomers for giving the game a try. I just hold capcom to a high standard, and for this game, the highest standard because I believe its the best game they ever made, and probably ever will, so the re-release should be as timeless as the original.

Lmfao. I didn’t change a damned thing about your post, b. That contradiction is delicious.

*Edit: Also, they don’t need to play them on 4:3 sets. The game has a 4:3 mode to make sure that the game is as close to the same setup as the original, no matter what TV you play on.

Don’t you remember HDRemix? No tournament ran it in widescreen mode because it was just cropped and caused a lot of vertical scrolling and that shit threw off people’s timing.

Perhaps you aren’t understanding me. I WANT it to be identical to the original, but since it is NOT, I have moved on and accept that it is a flaw/wasted opportunity and I will have to make adjustments. That includes both looks and gameplay.
