Yeah, I mean, I hoping for it to be arcade perfect, but I know Capcom will manage to break our hearts in some way or another.

Well I have been playing it at EVO. Its pretty freaking awesome, if its not arcade perfect… they did a good job at hiding it because it plays reaaallly well and seems to be as arcade perfect as it comes. So much better then PS2 by miles.

They arent going to do tournaments on a 4:3 tv just like they arent going to do them on Black & white tv. That’s on Capcom to make sure the transition is smooth.

Much respect to those playing on cabs, but if that is how you like this game, play it that way, the other 98% of the world will be playing on a console.

You might as well consider this an entirely new game and make your adjustments.

All I care about is how identical to the original is it? And if not, are the changes going to be improvements, flaws, or just wasted opportunities?

Arcade perfect? No
Gameplay experience? Sure
Artwork? NO
Replays? Better
Training mode? Ugh…
Challenge mode? Sure, but who really cares, just do a better training mode where I can do what I want.
Did they remake this game to catch a lot of newbies and load it with extras that dont really improve the game? Of course they did…

Overall score: Looks like it will be a C-

Just so its clear, I have a lot of respect for the guys who have been playing this game for years, the tournament pros for keeping it alive, capcom for releasing it, and the newcomers for giving the game a try. I just hold capcom to a high standard, and for this game, the highest standard because I believe its the best game they ever made, and probably ever will, so the re-release should be as timeless as the original.

If we live in a world where people like you are right, then it’s a wasted opportunity because lagless 3s is 3s. Anything else is a cheap imitation and shouldn’t bear the badge.

I have a question. I will be new to 3rd strike and I’ve only begun to start playing Makoto in SSF4.

Since SF4’s game engine is leniant on moves, how strict are motions in SF3? There is a a specific move I’ve been learning to do on a joystick which is the Tsurugi and the SF4 engine allows a 963214+K motion (normal motion is the tatsu in the air). Is this movement “allowed” with the SF3 engine? Or is it more strict in the sense that it must be 8 (to jump in air), (then)214+K instantaneously.

you can do both 8 and 9 starts because all it requires of you is that you are airborne. Unlike SF4 though, here you don’t have to start or end at 0 or 180. Buurrr rDurrrr is what I think whenever I don’t get a half circle because of that.

It’s not the motions in 3s that are difficult, it’s the timing. You don’t get three hour long windows of attack.

Hey, don’t forget guys, Sven said that they will be willing to patch any issues with the game. If it isn’t arcade perfect at launch, that can change later on.

Why the fuck is Mike Z using SA3 with Makoto? Jesus. Fubarduck is pretty meh.

Edit: I think this was setup somehow. You have a Makoto using SA3, and then Dirty Sanchez uses Stun Gun with Alex? WTF? Leading to a Dudley/Chun match now.
