Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

Thank you internet for giving these peoples voices

edit: looking forward to see what changes he’d make to alex

I recall the dummy always parrying in record mode, which needless to say ruins alot of setups. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, its been awhile since I played the Ps2 version. Edit: A little late with the info. See the posts above, lol.

Weird. Im pretty sure it looped on the Xbox Anniversary Collection training, I’ll have to check it later.

Yes, there is a 4:3 mode in 3s OE…best to use a crt tv for this game…Try the scan line option too…itll fry your eyeballs

It loops on the Xbox 1 version?

I know there’s a 4:3 mode option, but that’s a 4:3 mode pillar boxing in a 16:9 letterbox screen that has been shown. I have yet to see if the game will support 4:3 or force the letterboxed16:9 pillarboxing for the “trials” on the left and right side. I don’t think they will do that, but have yet to see final confirmation. :frowning:

gotcha…hmmm…tough call…i remember on some screen options there were no side pillars…

maybe ryan would ultimately know???

It doesn’t loop. You just need to keep doing whatever you want to practice on over and over and over and over and then when you finish either kill the cpu or restart the round.

Anybody else pissed that CvS2 had an AMAZING training for what it’s worth, but MvC2 and 3S, which were both in the same generation failed to deliver?

the ps2 version of AE would let you record matches to memory card, but they would bug out when you tried to replay. it was random. Almost like desyncing on GGPO

the desynch problem was only in the western version. Never ever had a failed replay on the japanese ps2 version

I might be wrong. I’ll check when i get a chance.

It doesn’t loop (posted above). I don’t know exactly what you mean by loop but assuming you meant it’ll do the inputs over and over, no, it doesn’t. You have to manually record something over and over and then when you’re done either kill the cpu or restart the round.

Well just got back from evo.

Aside from the lagging monitors, the game felt like the arcade.
However there was some things I noticed.

I didn’t see or hear all characters play, but Yun sounds higher pitched during some moves and same with Ibuki.
Also, very rarely, some sound effects wouldn’t play. i.e. body thud sound effect.

There was also 2 times the game completely froze.
All in all, it was good.

As long these minor audio problems and freezing are fixed in the final version, we got a version better than the PS2 one.

Everyone I talked said it felt like the arcade, the only problem was the monitor lag.
So I guess will see once the 23rd comes around and we can play on lagless monitors.

I noticed in an earlier stream that Necro seemed picthed up like fuck.

They gotta play on the ASUS monitors. Capcom should try it.

Cool. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Really strange that sound seemed shifted pitch wise. Could all be setup related shit and who knows what else but as long as it feels good and it isn’t dropping frames and shit then that sounds excellent.

I hope Urien and Gill still sound like Alex when they drop from Urien’s neutral grab.

At least we’re still getting consistent good reports regarding the gameplay. I guess the strange pitch is a result of the sounds getting remastered?

Another glitch I forgot about…
Well I only saw it happen a few times within short time span. I didn’t see it again after that.
Sometimes choosing to do a rematch would exit out to the main menu.

I also noticed Hugo and Poison sound really loud. The TV was pretty loud to begin with, but when they spoke their intro dialogue, it really caught my attention.

Some other things I noticed. Sorry if they’ve already been confirmed.
Finishing a fight would bring you to a screen that showed which challenges you completed in that match.
After that you get a list of options. I only remembered a few: Rematch, change character, and exit. I think you could change options too, not really sure.
Both players have to do this.
When you start on versus, whoever wants to be player one presses start first. If you mess up the order, you can swap places.
Challenges have a high amount you need to complete. I remember one “Hip thrower” you gotta do 1000 throws.
A lot were 1000 or 750, around that range. The only low ones I spotted were 10 perfects, 20 desperate parries(parry with no health), and 5 stun recoveries.
I noticed that Q had a different portrait under his health bar compared to everyone else. Everyone just had their character portrait from the character select screen.
There’s a dip switches setting in the options. It’s pretty much the system direction from the console.

I only played versus mode and pretty much everyone else did.
So I didn’t get to see any trials or unlockables.
But if anyone has any questions, I’ll try to answer them.

thanks man.

some knockdowns don’t make such a deep thud (eg. after ryu sa2). could the difference have been due to that? after the match, i think whoever doesn’t choose rematch overrides the person who does in most games. did both players choose rematch when it exited that time?

edit: Latif

No, it wasn’t during any SA.
All I remember was someone got knocked down or hit or something, and I noticed something was missing.
Sorry I can’t remember what, but to be fair I’ve been playing just 3s since 9:30 and I only stopped around 5 so I can watch and participate in the 2v2.

I remember P1 choose change character and it suddenly went back to main menu.
At first I thought they pushed circle, but I saw it happen again even though they hit X on the right menu option.
