Yes, they are.
Looks like they are just porting the PS2 port to the 360/PS3 with sprinkles on top. The two items listed above are the same issues the PS2 hadâŚ
No theyre not! Mine are.
The only reason I even went down that road is in response to the many SF4 fanboys. It seems that if anyone says a cross word about SF4, then all of a suddenâŚyou reveal this nest of fierce SF4 nerds willing to shout whatever it takes to defend their baby and ignore the blatant disconnect in the SF Legacy from 3 to 4. So no, I am not one of those users, I just call it like I see it, and I donât praise games just because they have the SF name on it. As far as the idea that SF3 OE would never have happened without SF4, I disagree on the basis that SF4 could have been an excellent game, and we would have the same outcome we have now, or if no SF4 was released, seeing the success of HDR (please lets never get into that) SOMEONE would have made a port for PSN/XBLA of 3S and had half a brain in using proper netcode to get it working right online.
Also I am well aware that SF4 sales reached the million mark, I appreciate any valid opinions when I see them.
That being said, Iâm not interested in going further into the SF4 debate, SF4 groupiesâŚno response is needed.
wasnt sf3 a blatant disconnect in the sf legacy from sf2
Actually, people have been asking for a 3S re-release for YEARS before SFIV was even greenlighted. This isnât just Capcom looking to make a quick buck. This is them shutting us up (and pleasing us at the same time). Without SFIV being a success, there would be no MvC3. There would be no 3SOE. Itâs not an argument; itâs an irrefutable fact. If SFIV had bombed, Capcom would have ditched fighters altogether and kept raking in that Megaman and Resident Evil money.
Yup.
SF4 has its problems, and also its strong points. 3rd Strike is similar. Itâs a great game that I like a lot, but I donât pretend itâs without faults.
People who like SF4 are not automatically groupies because weâre capable of understanding what is good and what is bad, and enjoying the good while tolerating the bad. I intend to enjoy 3rd Strike Online for a long time, despite a lot of the dumb things about the game.
Basically, what bugs me about your âargumentâ is that both SF4 and 3SO have good things, and bad things, but youâll pretend 3S is a masterpiece of good things, while SF4 is a debacle of bad things. The truth is, neither is correct. Itâs a mix in both cases. You donât have to like SF4 (maybe the bad things prevent the game from being enjoyable to you), and maybe you really love 3s (because the good things are just amazing to you), but just keep your head grounded in reality. It could easily be the opposite for any number of people, and they arenât any more right or wrong than you.
Re: the âPS2-nessâ of 3SO, I wouldnât be surprised if they did use the PS2 port as a base, and theyâre trying their best to fix all the issues with it and make it as close as possible to the arcade version. I have no inside information so this could be wrong, but it wouldnât surprise me. If true, maybe it was the only reasonable way they could make the project.
I guess, if SF2 was a blatant disconnect in the legacy from SF1. I would just call it a massive improvement.
HDR was successfull, 3S was next in line. No SF4 needed.
Itâs obvious anyone who was in tourneys back during the 7 eleven days isnât exactly going to love SF3. Just like how not everyone who loved SF3 likes SFIV. When drastic things change in a competitive game you love you dont really always click with the changes and tend to just prefer what you like.
Either way most of the old school people who play SFIV dont exactly love it either but it plays enough like SF2 that theyâll play it any way.
Thereâs going to always be people who just like a game and blind themselves to anything else. A lot of MVC2 players are like that way where like once you get into a game as fast paced and cracked as Marvel everything else just seems like slow handicapped boredom. The local MVC2 players in my area had trouble playing anything else without falling asleep and generally just talked shit about anything that wasnât MVC2. Just the way things are.
You can try and argue with people and tell them that their game isnât perfect but overall the fact that they are different and like something different is what makes the scene diverse. Everybody likes enough of something different where the scene can work despite not everyone seeing eye to eye on games. Long as there are numbers for the games you canât go wrong. As much as theyâre not doing anything for anyone by believing their game is perfect youâre wasting time telling them their game isnât perfect also. They donât give a shit cuz they think your game sucks and all thatâs going to matter to them is how much your games suck. Cuz they know they suck.
Like I said earlier it would be boring if people didnât like different games and everyone just stuck with one thing. Which is why I like that games like MVC3 and SFxTekken are being introduced into the fighting game scene so itâs more like the old days where SFIV isnât the only damned thing people are playing Capcom wise. That game is god awful boring. Glad I can play another new game that Iâm interested in and go back to my old favorite.
Yeah but that was explicitly the point. It is certainly the oddball of the series though Iâd argue Alpha is just as unique.
Is everyone done trying to argue about opinions? Theyâre opinions, youâre not going to punch holes in someonesâ *feelings *and yet thatâs what everyone thinks they can do. You canât so just let it go. Logic and reason have no place when it comes to liking or disliking something.
[humor]sf4 groupies is hilarious though. as if such a thing exists here. remember weâre the crazy 3s sycophants according to good game player. why would we ever like sf4?[/humor]
Street Fighter IV any any itterations of it are garbage. Itâs a game about trying to get revenge ultras with fat, slow stupid characters. Any one who likes it is an idiot, SF III 4evr.
For once I agree with Louiscipher haha. Rockos Modern Life was such a great show. To stay on topic, I enjoyed it almost as much as 3S.
I was watching some videos of Necro earlier. I never really gave him a fair chance before but he looks like a pretty fun character to use. Stuck now between choosing Alex, Yang, Dudley and Necro. Might choose Yang or Dudley as a business character and then Necro or Alex for fun times.
3SO is the greatest fighter ever made.
Stoopid comment.
Your PROTIP is garbage. SF2 Sucked, SF3 4evr.
Shut up and gtfo.
(i donât play SF4)
I am pretty much the best playa eva! I canât wait to beat all yoo newbs who luv SF4. I canât be beat! Iâm going to dump on SFIV, Seth Killhimself killian is a douche. pwn3d.
