You see, for people to care about that, they would have had to care about Final Fight 2 in the first place. :xeye:
Agreed! Friendship! No more hostilities!
I still agree. The characters are just too goofy.
So what? Capcom seems to do whatever the hell they want regardless of what the people care about. I’m pretty sure if SF3 just had returning SF2 cast, then this thread would be whinging there are no new characters rather than no returning SF2 cast. You can’t win.
Man Yun and Yang should be a very high tier because they are the grandsons of Gen. They both have there own version of his moves. They are suppposed to run the streets of China and are masters of Kung Fu at 17.
Gill is like the anti christ the being under god. The Yin and the Yang. Day and Night. Fire n Ice Good n Evil. Urien and Orian The Gimini Twins
Urien is not as strong as Gill but stronger than humans. galactic power. Aegis was used by Thor. Thats also Uriens best super Aegis Reflecter. Played a part in rulling the world with his twin. But now rebails and ends up killing Gill in one of their incubaters. And Urien becomes the new zsar or “God” leading the new A.U. … After Urien era.
Part man part experiment stretchy limber new abilites.(dhalsim/blanka cross hatch)
Necro,He is a mutant that Gill was working on for his super army of Necromancers but Necro escaped with his mutant ass girfriend too.
Now Twelve is an enhanced Necro only hes a droid and there is 12 of them and Twelve is #12 ironiclly. And Urien is 12’s creator not Gill. He can do almost whatever Necro can do but better and he can fly and read your data to turn into you. He even gets to disapear momentarily.
But electricity hurts him and thats what Necro is all about.
Makoto should be in a tier of her own as well…actually very high.
She is supposed to be the youngest master of our time. Shes 15 or 16 in the story. Right up there with Gouken and his master in skill. She has combos that kill Akuma in one flurry in streetfighter 3.
Her ending she takes on 50 people a day and peeps cant beat her and the whole streetfighter cast is in line at one point.
I dont know why Capcom made her so strong for some reason.
Hugo is incredibly strong as hes from Munic Germany, the naturally strongest people in the world are from there. It was a question on Jeopardy. Plus he was a boss in Final Fight. As he is Andre the Giant but they changed his name to Hugo in the states much like Mike Bison to Balrog and Bruce Lee to Fei Long. In Final Fight they spelled his name Andore’ not Andre’ because of the katakana that Japan uses.
Ibuki is in ninja school so shes not quite a full fledge ninja yet but part of her graduation is to beat Oro(a sennin) in les then 19 sec.
She must be ahead of her time because her ninja school is secret among society and u have to be hand picked by Geki and the elder ninjas.
Also note that sennins have great skill and for that test to beat Oro being just that a test to pass to get in ninja school means her clan is not to be fucked with so ta speak.
As she must be at a high level herself to have a rival like the youngest master of her familys style Makoto.
Sean sucks, hes Kens pupil and hes vesry sloppy and cant even throw fireballs at will yet. although he can throw a hadou burst for a super and get it across the screen but it drains him and hes stuck for a long period of time after he releases. So hes slightly understanding hadou…
but his hurricane and dragon punch need vast imrovement.
About the same age as Makoto and the Twins Yun and Yang.
Q is supposed to be one of the robots/androids from the sf movie gathering data on fighters. He has an endoskeleton like terminator if u pause it when hes shoked.
Chun Li is in her prime right now in Kung Fu and is a force to be rekowned(sp) because shes the best character right over Yun in streetfighter 3 3s. She actually has powerful kicks and large amounts of chi blast. Although Makoto is the youngest master to ever master Makoto’s fathers style Chun Li is still the strongest women in the world.
Just thought I would str8’n up some things that were explained wrong about the 3 series. And I love the game, its the only reason I get up in the morning.

Not to be a complete ass, but to the best of my knowledge Yun/Yang’s relationship with Gen has been discounted as a family tie. Apparently they did take over his resteraunt at some point (presumably after his ‘death’) but other than that I’m not really sure. There’s another rumour floating about that Lee is their uncle but I’m not sure how true that is either. You can check all this on Tiamat’s plot guide to be sure.
I’m only going off of a couple things I read about their bio.
It would make sense because Yang has gens old death touch that runs though you. The stance is similar. The rolling kick.
although if u wanna get deep everybody in 3s fights like somebody from the past.
Necro=sim and blanka
Q Balrog
Yang Fei Long
shotos
hugo geif
alex pretty original
remy guile
makotos style is pretty different
urien feels like an old charge character to me
oro guile with juggles
elena pretty original
12 sim that can fly
see what I mean?
Even the claim that Yun & Yang taking over Gen’s restaurant is just a theory. Ditto for the idea that there’s a relationship of any kind between Yun/Yang and Gen, 'cuz I’ve never heard/read a confirmation of that from any reliable source. It’s mainly theory. Still, their moves are too similar for there not to be a relation of some sort. However, it’s a fact that Lee is a relative of Yun and Yang. Capcom has stated this and there is printed evidence. While it hasn’t been officially stated what the relation is specifically (father, uncle, cousin, etc.), many unofficial japanese sources say that he’s their uncle and I believe that is the most likely relation. Excuse me if I sound like a prick.
Sano let me tell you something that is missing that might make a ruckus. Wehn I was around 13 I had a friend that had absolutely every single fighting game of Street Fighter. One day I stopped over to his house and he showed me it and I was like whoa. That’s a lot of games. But then he showed me something and told me something that is just unbelievable. He had a picture of him with the producer of Super Street fighter 2. He was with him in a capcom office. Now here’s the interesting part. His name was included in the game! That’s right he’s in it. Not as a character but someone shout’s out his name. It’s Guile. Have you noticed when he loses he shout’s a name? It’s his name! His name is Upaul. Yep, as unbelievable as it might sound it’s true. And it makes sense. He’s too scrawny to be put as a character so his name was added as Guile’s losing chant. Weird. huh?
You’re friggen kidding right?
All of what you have said amounts to a distorted half truth about the SF universe.
You really have to seperate gameplay from canon.
Fool I’m just saying bs shit from playing the game and peeping out the endings. Fuck it,Capcom hasn’t really said anything about 3s so I was like I’ll try to put something together from what I read and and saw in the game. Udon should fuck with that story.
The Executive producer is Okamoto. He has been in the Street Fighter Live Action Movie as the cook, (when everybody runs off he is left stirring the pot) and has appeared in backgrounds including Ken’s SFZ2 Background. I’m aware of Guile’s loosing scream but there is no producer - Okamoto, Funamizu, Nishitani - named Upaul. Now, Capcom employees have lots of nicknames so if Upaul is a nickname, that could very well be.
I think you just got old.
No offernse, but it’s pretty clear that when SF2 came out, you weren’t as judgemental, or at least, you didn’t mind “goofy” stuff as much.
SF2 is way goofier than SF3. There is a green skinned man, there is a military guy with the most impossible, least military hair EVER, there is a fire breathing, teleporting plastic man, a flying native american, a flying sumo wrestler, etc, etc.
But, that’s just my opinion. I think that SF2 is goofy as hell, and pretty crappy compared to SF3, in all respests. People are just used to SF2, and people tend to like what they are used to.
I’ll continue to break it down.
In goofyness…
Necro < Dhalsim
Twelve < Blanka
Oro < Honda
Alex < Zangeif
Hugo < T. Hawk
But I will admit that Gill > than M. Bison.
However, Bison is more boring thatn Gill, in terms of fighting him, his story, his design, etc.
Beat the game with Gill, and you might like him better.
And choose his Oreo pallet, as opposed to the red and blue one.
What’s not goofy in Fighting Games anyway?
You can’t possibly be serious. The only over the top character in SFII is Blanka, and now that I think about it, maybe Dhalsim. T. Hawk is not over the top, just stupid, which a lot of characters in SF3 are. He’s also absurdly stereotypical of Native Americans (not Mexican), but that’s just Capcom being dumb. And Alex is equally stupid as Zangief. But seriously, just take a look at the SF3 characters.
I heard somebody refer to Necro as a cross between Dhalsim and Victor, that seemed pretty accurate to me.
Hey has anybody read the Street Fighter III Ryu Final manga by Masahiko Nakahira? I was just wondering what he did with the Street Fighter three storyline. Amazing art by Nakahira too, I prefer it over the Udon work.
I have it. Here’s what happened in Ryu Final in a nutshell.
The very first scene was a stick in the ground with Ryu’s headband around it, making it look like he was dead/buried.
Ken defeated Gill, than beat Ryu. Ryu got beaten by Oro, Oro decided to train Ryu. Ryu beat Hugo, Yun, Yang, and Dudley. Sagat beat Hugo. Sagat and Ryu finally rematched, Ryu reopened Sagat’s scar, Sagat knocked Ryu down, it was more or less a tie.
There’s a flashback of Gouki killing Gouken. Back at the Dojo, Ken and Ryu rematched, but this time Ryu won with one punch! And then, Gouki and Ryu had their final match. Gouki put his fist through Ryu’s body with a Shun Goku Satsu! Ryu fought on and managed to blast Gouki with a one handed Ki blast. They continued to fight while Gouki was on fire, Ryu punched the ground (kind of like Terry’s Power Geyser but not exactly,) this caused Ki to rise from the Earth and Gouki to seemingly be burned to death. However, he made a comment that “He and Ryu are too clumsy to die,” something like that, so contrary to popular belief, Gouki does not die in the Manga. With a hole in Ryu’s body, it looked like Ryu was dead.
In a match against Alex in a Boxing/Wrestling Ring, Ken defeated Alex. Later, Mel gave Alex Ryu’s Red headband asking Alex to seek him for answers/guidance/strength. Alex arrived at the stick in the ground made to look like Ryu’s grave. He tied Ryu’s Red Headband around it. And next thing you know, there was Ryu still alive who creeped up behind Alex! The stick only marked the battle between Ryu and Gouki, not his grave. Apparently, his training with Oro gave him the skills to heal the massive hole in his body, but it did leave a scar.
My favorite Masahiko Nakahira SF Manga is still Street Fighter Zero. Ryu final’s second best. It’s hard to compare against Udon since Udon’s is one seemless story and Masahiko Nakahira’s Manga are seperate entities with slight contradictions between each other here and there.
Wow thanks, that’s pretty interesting! I don’t suppose you (or anybody) know where these dated mangas can be bought. I would love to get my hands on both the Zero and SF3 Nakahira stories.
