I never really played NG much, but I did today. Fuck, I love Sean. I love how close RH and cr. FK both go into his tatsu thing and do so much stun damage. And I also realized that his st. SK, cr. SK and cr. FK all cancel into his SA3, which I thought was pretty awesome (The timing is hard for the st. SK, though.
No idea if this is well known, but the three normals mentioned above can also be canceled into QCF+K or QCB+K before they actually come out. Oh and while trying to do cr. FK xx SA3, for some reason QCF+K comes out instead of the super even if you don’t press any kick buttons.
Haha :wonder: I’d never heard that term before and was unable to find it in the SRK wiki’s glossary, though thankfully it was on insomnia.ac’s list. http://insomnia.ac/archive/glossaries/fighting/
No prob., BTW my post was a bit misleading; what I meant to say was something like this-
Say you want to do J. HP–>Cr. MKK–>Super with Sean
Simply hold MK while inputting the super so the game doesn’t buffer in the kick and give you his QCF+K instead.
It’s cool, I got what you meant and once again thanks for the info.
Been messing around with Hugo a little bit. EX qcf+k seems pretty good, if it hits it knocks down and leaves your opponent in perfect position for a jumping down+fierce, cr. jab into super on wake up. Also been playing a tiny amount of Elena, does she have any decent combos? Coz I sure can’t work any out.
I was kidding, but yeah, the wiki needs work. IIRC you can find the same basic terms on sonichurricane.com.
If 2I EX Lariat is anything like 3S EX Lariat it wouldn’t be a good idea to count on that as all Lariats can be ducked by most of the cast. Also, is your opponent tech rolling or just laying there? That’ll make a huge difference if you want to use that tactic. Even though Hugo’s pretty bad in both games I do miss c.LPxN xx SA3.
Capcom loves keepin the black(brazilian, w.e) man down
Thanks for the vids! I’ve just watched the first one and am downloading the rest. Ok, now I’m done watching them all. It’s a shame that there were so few players and characters, but I still enjoyed watching and I’m just happy that people are playing 2I.
I’m going to sound like I’m sippin dat Haterade, but those Mikado players don’t really know the game that well at all. Especially the Yun player, who was trying to play him like 3S Yun with the Genei-Jin… you could see that he kept trying new things with the followups and practically none of them were working. I think Yun’s best super is You-Hou, it does a shitload of damage compared to 3S and still lets you juggle a shoulder check, hop punch followup afterwards. Not to say that Genei-Jin is completely worthless in this game, but it just seems inferior to me.
I’m wondering why the Sean players were always using standing Fierce to link into Hyper-Tornado instead of standing Roundhouse, which does more damage and always felt easier to hit confirm off of. That and Sean’s Roundhouse throw does way more damage than his Strong/Fierce throw too, which they were also using for throws too… I guess with Fierce you have the added bonus of being able to option select his meter glitch b+Fierce if it whiffs, but still.
tHANKS for those matches, gonna DL them and comment on them later :br:
Well the Dudley player got better, and the Yun player was OK, but for the life of me, why he never switched to SA I or II after seeing that the effects of SAIII aren’t like in 3S is beyond me, he would’ve easily beaten the Sean player that way!
The Sean player was good tho.
Yeah, I also thought that they did not know the game all too well. The Sean player was the best by far and one of the Yuns couldn’t finish the geneijin all the time.
Have seen better matches already but they were okay.
