im pretty disappointed with SF issue 12. blanka being a shadowloo baddie is too out of character and the whole delta red story seems like its going no where. where the hell is the Street Fighter storyline going anyways?? i though SF2 the tournament was suppose to start already, but so far we see alot of character side tracking from the tourney.
Now THAT is what i’ll be waiting for!
Although i’ll wonder where Chun-Li will go after she parts from Cammy and Delta Red, I cannot wait to see how Kens wedding will be like! ^^ I wonder if Sakuras gonna wear something kawaii to Kens wedding though! ^^
As for issue 12, I thought it was pretty good, although I wonder when did Cammy capture Blanka though…and what does happen to Blanka after he got knocked out…
For those of you who are worrying about Blanka - no, he is not a Shadaloo goon. He is in Brazil and got captured by Shadaloo. There will be more Blanka origin and stuff in the next arc.
That’s cool.
As for Blanka’s origin, Shadowloo shot down the plane he was in to kill a lot of the passengers they had beefs with. Blanka becoming green is a result from over exposure to chlorophyl(I know I spelled this word wrong…) in the jungle. He learned how to conduct electricity from eels. His name Blanka comes from him misunderstanding the term "hombre Blanco’ obviously before his color change. (But they don’t speak Spanish in Brazil, they speak portugese so he would of heard ‘Branco’ but since Ls and Rs are almost interchangable in Japanese when translating stuff, whatever…) The tooth and claws - that just goes with being raised in the jungle in Street Fighter World. No Toxic Waste for Blanka. Well, his origin is a bit silly but that’s how it goes.
i know where it’s from i even stated it in my post MISSY! the point was it was a terrible idea that should never have been acknowledged in the comics.
stefan and i are good friends! and for your information i have a life, YOU need a new avatar!
i was thinking the same thing i knew that
hell i would complain that they haven’t had a issue with chun-li in her game clothes but i have only read 1,2,8,9,10,and11 :xeye:
Birds of a feather flock together…
YEAH,THAT’S COOL.I SHOULD HAVE FIGURED THAT AND OVERREACTED.I KNOW YOU GUYS WOULDN’T SCREW NOTHING UP AS I HAVE ENJOYED EVERY SINGLE ISSUE SO FAR AND FEEL IT AS A BLESSING TO GET THEM EVERY MONTH.
Well lemme ask you this, what happens to a toad when it’s struck by lightning?
She appeared in costume for 3 1/2 pages in issue 7, at her father’s grave. She also performed a Kikosho. (I used the issue for reference on her outfit)
I enjoyed this issue. I’ve always liked Delta Red ever since I read that Cammy manga a long time ago. I liked the teamwork and the individual specialties of the characters and I thought both aspects were represented well this issue. Delta Red characters, IMO, have a lot of potential for future stories and tie ins and it is good to introduce and to develop them. I loved the last two pages of the main story - the art was sharp and has me very curious about the next issue.
The back story was great. I like to see characters out of uniform and just talk casually, to me, it adds life to the characters. I hope that this type of dialogue gets incorporated with the other SF characters as well. Something simple like Ryu asking Ken if he is expecting a boy or a girl or if he’s chosen a name for his child would add life and realism to the characters.
On the flip side I understand that Delta Red characters aren’t considered true SF characters and some people may feel unsatisfied that a bulk of the story was about them instead of the familar SF cast.
One tiny thing, on the back cover “Adrian” was mistyped as “Adrain”. I’m sure the guest artist like to see their name spelled correctly.
After reading issue 12, I can’t wait for the next one, where we finally get to see Balrog in action!
Still waiting for Guile to show up again…
Seems like an interesting issue. I’d love to see Udon poking fun at the whole Chalrie-Blanka thing. For those who read the issue, how is Decapre bad looking? What’s wrong with her face?
Someone posted this on page#1 but Decapre is supposed to be a clone of Cammy but somehow her face got messed up & scarred
what happens to everything else, you greasy little stain of a man!!
i would like my name changed to killer bee. how do i go about the transformation?
I only beef with the comics is that based on the covers for #13, you wouldn’t now that it was a wedding being crashed. Hey UDON, is there a way to get at least one cover that shows all the major players of a certain issue? Some way to give us a good idea what the issue is about, but still appease Capcom’s fetish for high character counts on covers.
My thoughts
I liked this issue … i thought the last issue was kinda slow and borring … this one had some nice action in it … Blanka was a nice touch. I like that they didn’t make him good or evil … just controlled. I think everything with blanka played out really nice in showing his beast and human sides. the back story however i was severely disappointed with. I was hoping for something enjoyable … it seemed like when i used to read history books in high school … i almost stopped reading out of boredom … but i didn’t because i read cover to cover no matter how bad.
cant wait for issue 13
because as with afew of the guys here i am kinda bored of seeing cammy and delta red in action. Plus i have never been a big fan of the dolls idea, jun and juli in sfa3 were totally weak…anyways, i think i might have enjoyed the cammy stuff more if the layout and art was a bit more dynamic, but it just wasnt making me go ‘wow’ enuff…considerin this was the first appearance of blanka i think it could have been more special, better composition and layout so we really get to check out blankas cool moves…anyways, it was still good, just not fantastic…back up story was kinda cool, and i love cheap shots, its cool extras like that which make the comic that little bit cooler. The big rumble in the next two issues sounds cool, cant wait…plus the madureira cover then rey cover …sweet…
last few issues felt more like “The Adventures of Delta Red” than Street Fighter
