I don’t really care about streaming and I just want to capture videos of my matches from my console so that I can go over them later to see what I did wrong. What would be the cheapest solution without adding lag?
Can somebody recommend a decent camera that can also be used as a web cam to stream, it doesn’t have to be HD as long as it’s better than the cheap web cam I have at the moment.
rofl, im an idiot didnt realize it can do all the same things manycam does, so i got it working now. another question about xsplit though, how do i get txt over the picture like manycam?
Do add… > title
Click the add button then Add Title… Next add your text and then resize and move it to where you want it. Just make sure it is on the top layer
After updating to the beta 3 version I got the notice that the beta will soon be ending and it asked me if I wanted to buy a 2 year subscription for $39 :bluu:
I would suggest if you already have a camcorder that has av out to use that with a capture device like the EZcap or dazzle. This will allow you to still be able to record normally and stream, also I havent seen a camera or camcorder that has native webcam functions in a long time.
Does anybody really think they’ll pay the money for Xsplit? I use Xsplit for casual and stuff, but it usually runs into problems and issues. For tournaments I strictly use FME 2.5 due to how reliable it is, but I like Xsplit’s video quality and ability to record and stream at the same time as well as custom resolutions and easy audio mixing. Its also less resource intensive than even FMEcmd.
But paying for a buggy unfinished program as it is is not worth it imo.
Xsplit is extremely buggy, and when it goes out of beta i’ll most likely just go back to VHMultiCam.
what would you use for text overlays for names in VHMulticam?
i did that nothing pops up
my previous method was creating an excel sheet, putting names in specific cells, and capturing that area of the screen for overlays (at 1fps)
hmm I wouldnt know how to fix that. you might want to send feedback and report the issue on the xsplit site
I tried this but i could never get the size I wanted. I may have to go back to the idea I had about screen caping a sticky note and chroma keying the background
Now this is all speculation, but should the beta for xsplit ends there may be a possibility that you’ll still be able to use offline mode. You could try to use the titles and export the virtual camera output to FME to stream.
Dont take my word for it though, this is only in the event we’re still able to use offline mode.
Yea they are saying that they may try to make a limited free version. I would be willing to use a free version that only outputs to a virtual camera, doesnt save you settings in a cloud and has fewer updates and limited tech support, so that it would be like the original VHMulticam studio
Hey, hopefully someone here has some suggestions because I’m out of ideas. I recently got a Black Magic Intensity Pro and as far as I can tell my setup more or less matches the one described in the video in this post. It’s not working. I’m trying to capture from a PS3 while displaying on an Asus 236H monitor. Nothing displays and it will only record record from the PS3 via the packaged software in NTSC format (it also doesn’t display anything in the software while capturing, you don’t know if you got anything until you check the video). Setup follows video almost exactly. PS3 via component cable to Intensity Pro, Intensity Pro via HDMI cable to Asus monitor. Have even fiddled around with various display settings on the PS3 (720p, 1080i) and we got nothing. Any suggestions?
Im pretty sure that you can’t output component and HDMI at the same time from the ps3. I would suggest using ps3 HDMI out > HDMI powered splitter > out1 to monitor, out2 to HDFURY2 to Intensity pro.
That’s how I do it for PS3 to get around the hdmi copy protection. Or use an xbox 360 instead since it doesn’t use HDCP you wouldn’t need the HDFury2.
Edit: they recently released the HDFURY3. This is an upgrade from HDFury2. Either will work. Just don’t get the original HDFury.
anyone know what program peacefuljay is using to stream or how he gets the quality to look so good?
I believe he just uses Flash Media Encoder and the blackmagic intensity pro with a video bitrate of about 4000 Kbps and a resolution of 854x480 at 30fps
Damn 4000kbps? Must have some good inet
If you can deal with 360p then 1500kbps-2000kbps is still really smooth. PJS only switched to 480p just recently.
Complete newb here… New to recording and just bought a HD PVR. What I want to do is…
- Record matches (which I know how to do)
- Add logos/player names on the screen while recording.
- Provide live commentary on the matches
- Stream
I need to know exactly what I need to do all of this (software/equipment). I really like how all of the major streams run things. They have their tourney logos. They change the players names in between matches and commentate the matches. That’s EXACTLY what I want to do. So far I have an Asus monitor, HD PVR, Compenent>HDMI converter box, Xbox 360 and laptop computer.
