Also I dunno if this was tested already or not but Ibuki’s unblockable works on the new shotos: Evil Ryu and Oni. Be careful of Oni’s lp.dp though. It seems to be like super Ryu’s lp.dp where he could do it to purposely reset himself. I believe only Oni has this ability now.
Also, the unblockable after regular neckbreaker still works, but of course the timing and spacing is different. I could not figure out an easy way to time it, like the EX neckbreaker setup. The best I could do was:
Neckbreaker , walk forward couple frames , f+LK , j.LK
Lastly, these unblockables do NOT work on the twins, Yun/Yang. Unfortunate. However it still is an easy way to setup an ambiguous jumpin and option select neckbreaker to catch dp attempts.
ming you really are the hardest working guy on the forums. you like it? i was juggling which title to give you - hardest working or most electrifying either way good stuff
Mingo for president. Excellent safe jump research.
I think u should start your own thread with all ibuki related info u discovered, like all-in-one advanced play super guide.
I bet a lot of newbies like me will find it exceptionally useful to get to next level of play.
I tested all of that before the game came out and confirmed what loops worked on who a couple days after console release. It’s all in the AE upgrade thread or matchup thread I forgot.
great job all around mingo. I would also like to add a few guy strategies:
after a normal neckbraker on guy, whiffing a down mp or 2 stlps and following up with a super jump lk makes him completely whiff his reversal ex tatsu on wake up. ibuki lands right through his ex dp move for a free punish lol.
also against guy, her bmp cd sthk sjccd jump in hk cannot be hit by his ex tatsu on landing, making it an amazing jump in pressure tool if you ever catch him with
a bmp.Yet another reason for you to get consistent with the mixup juggle asap.
also can someone please give me tips for doing a naked sthk sjc ultra 2? im simply unable to get this one out consistently.
oh crap sorry that was a typo, i meant stmk into u2. i saw sako punishing random moves with this at will and thought it would make your ground game look extremely scary.
Yeah and I also saw him try to reaction punish whiffed pokes with raida. He is gdlk, period.
Anyways, what happens when you try to do st.MK xx SJC U2? For most people, it’s the fast directionals that get them. Kind of like doing a 720 for the first time.
oh the usual stuff happens lol, if i do it too fast i get the ex dp out and if i do it slow, i get a super jump hk. how do you do it? a guy told me that we should think of it as inputting the command for a low frame advantage sjc kunai that we do in a block string after a stmk, but the only difference is we got to press the 3hk button instead of lp. this made be get a wee bit more better, but im still nowhere near as good to start doing it in matches.
For me it was just a matter of inputting the full directionals fast before you super jump. Kind of like cl.st.LP xx SJC U2 but not as fast or difficult.
Of course, this assumes you are already very fluent with standard SJC U2’s like after TC4 and st.LK xx st.MK.
I don’t get how you’re already landing SJC Command Dash after ST HK juggle and still can’t do something easy like MK SJC U2. People’s priorities get me all mixed up lol.
I don’t input the U2 like that anyways. I get what you’re saying, but the timing on the HK Juggle (not just a normal close ST HK, but after the Back MP) into SJC Command Dash as opposed to the Knee into U2 is a lot stricter.
It could be just me though, I did practice the shit out of comboing into her Ultra for hours so I have that down pretty good. Comboing into her U2 feels pretty easy if you ask me.
sjcing into her ultra from her various tcs is not a problem for me, its also not a problem if i go into the stmk from a hitconfirm. but im simply unable to do it consistently when i do it from a naked stmk, especially if i were to input the stmk immediately after walking forward or walking back.
