I keep getting SRK’d like crazy trying this. I’m not sure if my timing is off or what can counter it. I know a few characters have 100% outs, do we have a list of everything that will escape this vortex and possible yomis to counter them?
Also any tips on perfect timing? I tend to get too late when they stand or too early and hit the ground.
Timing can vary depending on which type of jump you use, and the time in which you release the kunai. Perfectly spaced kunais will not be able to be countered outside of Gouken’s counter. Best bet is to generally aim slightly below their chest, and to not go past anything as far as their waist (a little below the waist isn’t bad either).
As far as tips goes, best bet is to just continue to grind out the timing on it. It’ll dawn on you after awhile. but it’ll take time.
You shoudl check Mingo’s Tsumuji Loop thread for a link to a list of how characters can get out of the vortex.
Hey I got destroyed by a cody who would wake up with ex zonk… it would totally autocorrect too every time… any way around that its got some invincibility right?
Your timing it wrong. And the kunai should be in his hitbox longer then his invincibility frames.
I see some people do the meaty crossup kunai and not finish target combo, what’s up with that? I see stuff like lp mp (sometimes just 1 hit) then special or lp mp (1 hit) hp xx special, why not just lp mp (2 hits) hp xx nb or c.lk c.lp st.mk xx nb on crouching opponent?
I don’t know why they do st.LP xx st.MP 1hit xx Special. It could be possible that their opponent is out of range for the st.HP but so far, I’ve never come across such a situation.
Some people do st.LP xx st.MP 1hit xx st.HP xx Special because if your opponent is too far, the full TC4 will whiff. In other cases, if your opponent is blocking, the 2nd hit of st.MP will whiff.
cr.LK , cr.LP , st.MK xx Special is not as damaging. Though it can be used.
its because of lag, imho. online i miss my target combos all the time cause of the variable lag, and dont get out my stuff…its frustrating as hell.

Must be some super serious lag to be missing moves that are meant to cancel into each other.
Is it just me or does the second hit of TC4 whiff on half the cast while their crouching? Even on Fucking Ryu.
yes the 2nd MP of TC4 whiffs on a large part of the cast while crouching.
Well not the 2nd hit of MP but the whole move altogether whiffing. If its the 2nd hit then immediately into the 3rd hit from the first.
i havent had that issue. I’ll test it out some more and see what happens so i can be more helpful.
welcome to my world. its not very fun over here… jump back, fireball> jump back, jump forward. owns me online… sigh.

Is there really any use to using SJ for vortex to follow up after neckbreaker? Almost anything done at reversal timing will be facing the side you land on.
From my post in the second page in this thread:
*Also: For the rest of you practicing cross up kunais, the easiest way for you to know whether you’re actually crossing up is grab a regular controller and loop a rubber band around the joysticks. Set your training dummy to human, and now you’ve got a dummy that’s always going to the down-right. Since kunais can be blocked from low, you’ll know which side the kunai landed whether the dummy got hit or blocked it. *
Fadc
Man, I think a FADC on wake up kills the kunai vortex, moreover you will have time to punish during Ibuki’s recorvery from the kunai. So imo you just can’t do any kunai vortex on wake up ! You know a solution about that problem ?
How are they punishing you? I thought they’d be too busy dash cancelling to be punishing your recovery? You must be timing your vortex wrong.
If they FADC alot, mix up which side you land on so they sometimes dash into you, giving you another combo into vortex anyways.
Actually when they wake up they just have to focus attack, this will absorb the kunai, no matter where it is, no matter how it is timed. And the recovery of the kunai is so high that you can be punished. Daigo did it to Momochi during the Godsgarden online, 2 or 3 time, whenever he attemped to do the kunai vortex. Then Momochi just had to stop to do Kunai on Daigo’s wake up and so good bye vortex. I wonder if Momochi did found a solution or did the kunai vortex bad, or if there is just no solution to kunai vs FADC.
Ps : the target combo lk ** 4mk is a solution to break FADC as you said.
