haha. The cops there are a complete joke. I had to meet a a client who was over in queens; so I got to Jamaica Center and the cop stopped me and said “I apologize sir, but I have the authority to search you. It would be in your best interest to comply”
IN my mind, I’m thinking “is this man serious” and I say “Officer, is this really necessary?” and he responds " I have full authority to search anyone I deem suspicious" and just makes me hate NYPD **that ** much more. Dude opens my briefcase and purposely pulls out my organized papers and drawings and shit and STARES at them.
Dis dude took out one of my client’s artwork, stared at it, and said “Interesting work you have here” crumples them and stuffs them back in my briefcase and tells me to have a good day. Late as is, I told him “Thanks for wasting my time”.
Got there 45 minutes late. Screw Cops. The best thing is, without tooting my own horn, I’m a good looking guy who isn’t suspicious in the slightest who was going about my business-albeit w/a bit pep in my step since I was already running late.
Das Racist said it best: You know, I’m sayin’ fuck the police, fuck the NYPD
(Son, do you know what he’s stoppin’ you for?)

The constitution, the supreme law of the land, is basically toilet paper even though President Obama swore to uphold it.
NYPD doesn’t need a warrant, they don’t have to identify themselves, they don’t need probable cause, and if you file a complaint it will just sit around for months then be thrown in the garbage and you’ll get a letter later saying that the officers were in compliance with standard procedures.
If you really feel like you were violated, file a complaint:
I could be wrong here but didn’t Obama study constitutional law? What better a candidate than someone who knows the constitution in and out to bend the rules and work around them
so now with them being ordered to have to wear cameras, um who is going to set the rule for when they are turned on, or if they are always turned on. if the chief just says, turn them on for these kinds of stops, and you dont have to for these, then who gives a shit about cameras on their vest. or if even worse its just purely left up to the cops discretion to turn on the camera during a sqf.
to be honest, in my ideal version of the usa we would have put these cameras on cops vest a long time ago. why they have been allowed to free reign on citizens with their word always holding up higher against our word in a court of law, is beyond me. it would help maintain that we keep more quality officers and get rid of the trash ones to go be mall cops, because once a complaint is filed, and things are taken to court, bam, all the evidence you need is right there on the video. it cuts down on so much time and resources when you can JUST GO TO THE GOD DAMN FUCKING VIDEO TAPE. lol
but the message is clear and always has been, stfu and always let the cop do his “job”, no matter how shitty they do it. now, in 2013 (since we cant go back in time) imo all cops should have to wear fucking cameras on their vest that have to be of a certain quality, so no shitty 180p cams. lol. the cameras will be taken off and all footage uploaded after every shift, with heavy restrictions on access to footage, so you dont just have officers sitting around lol’ing at footage, deleting footage “accidently”, leaking footage to the public, etc… basically once it gets uploaded, it goes right under the officers file and is there and never looked at again unless subpoenaed for a court case. so even if the officer was walking around hollering at chicks at work, unless that footage was subpoenaed for a relevant case, no one would ever see it. also i would make it so that the casing surrounding the hard drive/recorder that they have on them cannot be easily broken. i dont want shady officers purposefully falling on their backs or something and easily smashing evidence. i want that shit to be a small little steel casing that you would have to bash with a hammer to open, and also that it would have custom hex keys to open it that only the storage unit officers would have access to, and would be held HIGHLY accountable for if one were to be lost, copied or stolen.
not one cop in this country should be allowed to get away with any shenanigans ever, period. but thats not what police want, its not what prison owners want, its not what politicians want, judges, etc…, and its sad. **its sad how afraid we are to actually believe and uphold our own constitution, laws, and ideals for a better country. **
but no one wants to be held accountable for their actions. its humans 101. we’re such a failure species for no good reason either.
its funny you say that, because i learned a while ago that as a black man in this country, unless i have on workout attire and its clear that i am working out, my black ass is not allowed to run because i know how some people will immediately identify with that as. i live in a nice area, and if i wanted to run from here to trader joes, it wouldnt be that guys in a rush, it would be i wonder why he is running, did he steal something. lol
like i have to be much more conscious of that then others, and it is what it is, so i’ll just put on some sweats or shorts or whatever to make it less threatening then apparently jeans and a tshirt. so i just seem like a jogger then a man in a rush to get somewhere. i know how to play their stupid fucking game, but that doesnt make it all good.
You guys saying that the cops don’t so anything but ____________ (insert asinine response here) are totally wrong. It’s not that that that’s all the cops do; rather that’s all YOU see them do. You don’t follow cops around all day to know what they’re doing so all of you are talking out of your ass. On a summer day a sector continously responds to situations. If you don’t believe me, then feel free to listen to the NYPD precinct radio stations that are available online for you to hear. Take a listen at how busy they are, and how often they have to deal with robbery, assault, larceny cases. In the year 2012 there were 18 Murders, 75 Rapes, 847 Robberies, 909 Felony Assaults, 657 Burglaries, 990 Grand Larcenies, and 281Vehicle Breakins in the 75th Precinct ALONE which I estimate has a 3-5 mile radius. The majority of those crimes were commited by black and hispanic men. Think on this, There are 365 days in a year, and in those 365 days 3,777 crimes were put out over the police radio usually within minutes of the occurence of the crime (this is actually a smaller number because these are just the reported compstat numbers, crimes are often downgraded once they reach trial). Most of the time, the perp is described by the victim or witness as a black or hispanic male. So naturally you’re going to have the police looking for a black or hispanic male matching the descripton of a perp because the majority of the street crimes are commited by minority men. It’s not rocket science, the police department isn’t aiming to harass or oppress you. This is simply cause and effect. The police department has to look for bad guys based on the information that they have at the moment. And sometimes, the wrong people are stopped and possibly frisked. That’s all it is.
Don’t be mad at the police department, they’re just looking for the bad guys. Be mad at our minority brothers who live a life of criminality. They’re the ones to blame.
Basic non-white guy mentality: chalk up any difference in opinion to the fact that the opponent is white. Trololololol.
Drawing a stark moral line between cops and criminals is a conservative douchebag mentality. The number of non-white people in the world who subscribe to it–especially non-white people in a coveted position of authority–is staggering.
And everybody knows that the basic white guy mentality is to paint himself as the victim, therefore making the actual victims into the oppressors.
Yes I am serious. It is because of the criminals that permeate our neighborhoods that law abiding minorities are stopped and frisked. Like I said it’s simple cause and effect, if you live in a neighborhood that’s 3-5 miles long/wide (a very small area) where almost 4,000 major felonies occur per yer, then yes, sometimes when the police are looking for the perps that commited those felonies minutes after they happen… some law abiding minorities are going to get stopped questioned and possibly frisked. I’m not blaming the victims, I’m blaming the criminals.
Folks have to eat, and folks are going to want nice things. Everybody is going to want that.
Society brainwashes people to want, society praises people who go out and get what they want, and society acknowledges and praises those who have what they want.
Can’t blame them for doing what society teaches and encourages. Especially when things like ethics and what not are not taught in schools, nor they have anybody to teach them that sort of shit. Get over yourself, this blame isn’t on any one demographic, but rather the whole of society.
