Stop and Frisk nerf. Officers to carry in uniform DLC. Enforcement input lag. Win % to drop?

Unless you’re a young Black male in this city, you know nothing of the impact stop and frisk has. “MEANT” to deter weapons? The highest percent of people stopped in this city because of this shit were Black/Latino males and if I’m right, like 8 out of every 10 are innocent as fuck and the other 2 usually get charged with possession of Marijuana. That and a high ass percent of Black males in prison are there for possession too. Of course, there could be mistakes in the stuff I just said but nonetheless, it’s still bullshit.[

quote=“Syke1;8339434”]This summer has been kinda crazy in NYC tho. We had babies falling out of windows, stabbing sprees, violent sprees, bodies found in trashcans, “sharks” on the train, old ladies and yuppies getting cr.short xx cr.short and A2’d then having their ipad/jewels taken. Not to mention a 14yo raping girls in Mcdonalds playpens.

This is why I don’t like heat. Shit gets weird.

Dead ass though. I can’t even tell you how many R.I.P statuses on Facebook I have seen this summer from my friends. It’s depressing.

You don’t have to be black. I’m Hispanic and I know what it does to members of the community, but we bring it upon ourselves. Crime is disproportionately high and it’s minorities causing it. Gentrification no doubt brought this on, so I’ll say it’s racist only because they started it when white people started moving farther into the boroughs, but it serves a correct purpose: to stop the ones mainly doing the crimes from doing it.

I can tell you that every theft I’ve seen, both violent and non-violent, that has happened in New York City has been done by a minority. Every single one. It’s anecdotal but I’ve seen enough to realize it’s a goddamn problem. S&F addresses that but we get our assholes bunched up when we’re targeted when it’s justifiable.

Another NYC note: Bomb went off in Bushwick not too long ago. A few blocks from where I live. WONDERFUL!

Sounds like just another day in NYC to me. I don’t know how people live there. It’s gotta be like fighting the Vietnam war every day of your life.

all it takes to cut that shit out is 1234 1234 hypergrav tempest

Okay, it looks like assholes are throwing explosives into dumpsters in Bushwick. How bored are people?

Define explosives, are you talking about M-80’s or what

Well, now they’re saying it was a manhole explosion. I’m going to go with that one because Village Voice reported it.

The problem with Stop and Frisk is that it’s a perpetuation of a problematic system. When it comes to a society’s problems nothing happens over night. Shit takes several generations to get to where it is. It’s really scary to think that the civil rights act was passed less than 50 years ago in a country that just celebrated its 237th birthday. Money, power, and education are a close-nit trio in a capitalist society, and when a large contingent of that society is legally denied access it becomes problematic. The whole notion of “well you’ve got equal rights now go ahead and make something of yourself” is laughable. For individuals it’s something to strive for, but it’s crazy to expect that a group of people will close that gap within a generation or two.

Drugs and the “War on Drugs” are what have really fucked up “people of color.” Whether it was a diabolical plot concocted by “the man” to hold down minorities, or it just worked out that way because no one thought it through, the reason why the prison system is what it is right now is largely because of it. It’s no secret that drugs tend to find their way into the poorest sections of society, and when a large segment of said society were those who were ritually disenfranchised then guess who! gets targeted. Blacks and whites use drugs at the same rate, but they’re (3 times?) more likely to get arrested/convicted because of it. Of course shit’s going to go down this way when the attention goes towards black folks. It just becomes a cycle that repeats itself. Violent crimes are tied to this too. Sure there are some guys that have a church of kids and don’t give a damn, but there are also some guys who try to do right by their families, but end up getting locked up. I’ve known a few guys who could easily get locked away on a possession charge, but try to raise up their kids, and want them to turn out better than they have. From far away they’re criminals who should be locked up under the letter of the law, but they have a net positive impact because they’re there for their kids, and aren’t violent offenders. When these guys do get locked up their kids are likely to end up being the violent offenders, and when they get out now that they’ve got a record it’s hard for them to get a reasonable job anywhere, and they may end up being criminals because it’s the only way they think that they can survive now.

Stop and Frisk may be intended to stop people from carrying guns, but if a cop feels like it and a guy’s carrying some weed they most certainly will hang a possession charge on them. While the police officer is technically within their right to do so the fallout of that charge is what fucks people up.

I beg to differ:

I was about to give that bitch the snapback with my backhand onto the stairs.

So during these “search and frisk” operations, what were they finding? Minimal amounts of drugs, automatic weapons, dead white women? Why is such a tactic deemed necessary in the first place?

It helps them meet their quotas

I was at a park and I saw cops randomly stop and frisk a bunch of niggas and when they came up with nothing I saw one of the cops put something small in the pocket of one of the niggas and then had another cop search and find it and arrest not only that dude but his friends as well. NYPD needs to show that they are doing “work” to keep that budget as high as possible.

come on now, they aren’t quotas, they are “Performance guidelines” which i’m sure are present in any and all professions, it’s a big difference.

My above post is right in line with Eric Holder’s call for prison reform, and the story of the man in the article is true for thousands of people

what did they find?

DAT ASS.

Prolly has nothing to do with those minorities not getting decent education, living in shit and thus having only poor fucks to look up to that barely get by without wellfare checks.
Yeah no shit in social melting pots the crime rate is higher, who would’ve guessed that?
Just as a lion goes and fucks up an antelope when she’s hungry, a jobless man fucks up a weaker man in order to get his food on the table.

The only thing stop and frisk is designed for is to get drug charges on young lower class citizens and lock as many of them away as possible.
The whole law and police system is not designed to enforce “justice” it’s in place to protect the rich fucks from the poor fucks.

How people can see police officers as the “good guys” is beyond me, as to this day I don’t understand how an underfed child in some fucked up Asian country making Nike shoes 14 hours a day for 2 cents an hour which get in turn sold for 160$ in the USA and Europe, is less robbery than a guy beating someone up and taking his wallet from him.
In turn one is called business and the other mugging, the only difference is the one thing is achieved by intellectual superiority and the other by physical.

I grew up in poverty. My parents put me and my siblings through private schools (they were pretty awful, but hey they taught me cursive!) but most of my education came from my own want to learn. The private schools I went to were pretty much nicer public schools where blacks and Spanish kids would disrupt a class and no one would learn. Even with the time I dedicated to MvC2 in high school, I still managed to find time to teach myself what I needed to succeed through high school and college. I struggled to get enough cash to do it, too. My parents gave up paying for my education and I had to take that on at 17 years-old.

It’s no excuse. Nothing I’ve ever done came easily. Many are just not autodidactic or as driven to get somewhere. That shouldn’t make it okay to commit crimes just because it’s the easiest avenue to travel. I am a product of that environment and live a happy, productive life. There are countless others who have done the same thing. Colin Powell, J.K. Rowling, Jay-Z, Joe Biden, et. al.

Living in New York I feel pretty safe, but I also credit that to being Hispanic myself though I don’t really look it. The vast majority of my friends in the city are white and they are terrified going through some neighborhoods. Why? In Harlem/Bronx, black people give them endless shit. Anywhere outside the immediate northwestern Brooklyn area? They get beaten and robbed. That just happened to a friend by, you guessed it, minorities. So yeah, we bring it upon ourselves. We’ll never change if we keep passing the buck instead of owning up to it and actually do something about our situation.

Razor, your story would be totally inspiring if anyone looked up to you or considered you a success or something…

“Stop and frisk works guys! Does anyone have stats on stop and frisk so we can see if it works?”-Razor

Cops looking for dildos?
“Airport Security Officer: Nine times out of ten it’s an electric razor. But … every once in a while [looks around, leans in conspiratorially] … it’s a dildo. [leans back] Of course, it’s company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo. We have to use the indefinite article, “a dildo”, never … your dildo.” -Fight Club
