Dude, why are we all just hating on ourselves and comparing ourselves to SVGL? Its like playing little league baseball and telling your teammates they suck because they don’t play on the same level as the high school varisty baseball team.
Some of ya’ll have issues. Instead of this stupid fighting and posturing, make it a priority to meet other players and get better. Part of the problem with Stockton is SGL, but its also ourselves.
Seriously…you guys need to work on not hating on each other. We talk hella shit at SVGL, but no one gets upset…except that guy who drinks a lot, but that’s the alcohol. If you guys worked on practicing instead of shit talking, you’d probably be better.
I’ve been to SGL and NN on separate occasions. SGL is ass, any place franchised by Golfland needs to have properly working cabinets. NN is decent, just loose sticks. SGL has the same loose sticks, along with buttons that don’t respond. If you guys fixed your machines, and organized consistent playing schedules, you’d probably get better. I don’t mind driving out there to play, it’s just that the two times I’ve said I’d be there, no one showed up. I’d like to play you guys, but no one seems to commit to showing up even when informed in advance.
I dunt just start shit for fun but I’m not about to let some scrub call me a loser cuz i didn’t travel 5 hours south to play in a tournament when he didn’t do that either. Besides, most of the dislike i have for that bunny boy and trancemag has to do with how gay they are in real life. talking shiet and ating smart like they tight or sumthign but the second someone says anything they go and cry to their mom…literally.

The problem that I see most often is that everyone gets all into playin’ and throwing tournies… then some comp from out of town comes and lays the smack down on just about all and then everyone loses interest again. I agree with most of the things you guys are sayin’! SF should be played to improve everyones skills… But it does help if you can go out of town to play also. Just getting local comp gets you into a rut! I might start popping in once in a while… but there are no promises… I suck at SF… but at least I am willing to give it a try.
can someone try to organize a tourny in stockton (not at gland so i can enter) even if its console it would be cool. Im trying to make 4 joysticks for fighting games and hopefully i can make them to work in a tourny. me and some ppl i know know how to make them but we always mess up with the wiring.

Ok I’m back. Sorry about that bunny fag thing, but that wasnt me. I went on srk at my friends house and I let him post something. That was one of my friends. He seems to know you. Anyways I’ve been saying this whole time that Stockton players need to practice, but nobody seems to listen.
BTW, syk0bunnie to be honest I like concave better. I can still play with jap buttons, because they dont really matter as long as they’re placed correctly. What really matters are the sticks. If you wanna make sticks then this is how you should make them, this guy makes the best joysticks I’ve ever seen. :tup:
hey every1 long time no post… ive been really bz wid skoo… im trying to make something wid my life=) well hopefully i can find time and make room for some comp… sometimes i roll to the mall for some shopping and always play a game of cvs2. these guys are the funniest… it seriously brightens up my day playing with them… playing random losing to some horrible people and being told i suck cuz i didnt dominate… hopefully u people learn that when u kill some one or even a group for almost 20 wins u get bored and want to see what other chars and grooves can do. for the real comp, dunno if sgl even has that ne more. I was an original before and now thats all gone sour if some1 really wants to play though hit meeh up on aim… IIchaosfpII i dont like to visit the site every day later…

I’m not really sure, because from what I can tell it’s exactly the same. All i know is that NN’s slower I think than everyone else, but I’m not even so sure about that. I hate playing at whimsy the most because the only people there are some scrubs that talk shit when they win and make excuses when they lose. Also I hate their sticks so much. You cant do DPs when standing on the left side so how can I ShoShoSho or Paint the fuckin’ fence. The sticks are also to lose and the managment wont fuckin’ listen. I cant even play my fuckin’ A-groove at Whimsy so I have to use mt K-groove or team and shit. I go to school by G-land so everyday I walk to SGL to play a couple of games of CvS2 even if there’s no comp, because I gotta’ practice my CCs and thats out of the question with those damn Whimsy sticks. Plus I can get a few games of MvC2 there.
Chaos-If you were talking about a fat little Filipino kid then you played Bernard. He thinks he’s the shit because of some scrub tactics that pwns n00bs, then when he loses he says whoever beat him has no life and plays 24/7. I dont go to Whimsy anymore EVER, because it’s a huge embarrasment being seen there with scrubs. You’ll only ever see me there on weekends, but only because my friends are there. If I wanted to play Games I would go to NN’s or SGL. Maybe I would go there more often if the management there would get off there asses and… Get 3s, Fix MvC2 and Fix there CvS2. I keep hearing that their shit isnt fucked up from the manager, but thats 100% bullshit. Oh fuckin; well I need to find a new place to play because SGL management isnt doing anything to improve their arcade, Same with Whimsy and There CvS2 is unplayable by my standards and NN’s dont have MvC2(I checked). Lets get a tourny going soon, I wanna play some people at CvS2 and MvC2. If not then we’ll just play some friendly matches, because the Stockton schene is getting worse everyday. Not at whimsy because their shit is unplayable and gay. How’s NN’s or SGL? Hell, I be more than happy to participate in a console tourny as long as I can get some comp.
Now SVGL only has better players because there is better competition up there. If we can establish a better set of players then maybe we can get some recognition for ourselves.

Why don’t you guys get together and make a trip to SVGL? Tuesday and Friday still have decent turnouts, from what I hear. MGL even, since it’s a little closer. I drove up there twice, and NN is the only reasonable place to play. But, they don’t have MVC2, so most of you guys don’t go there. You guys’ll probably have to come closer to everyone else to get decent competition, 'cause not everyone is as crazy as I am to drive 90+ miles to get out there, just to find that there’s no one to play.

we came up to SGL again, this past sunday…not sure if any of you guys were there…we were there from about 4pm-closing. Not that many people were playing. some blk dude play mag,tbonne,something, and his friend. another guy later that day, playing mag,im,storm, also the worker there was playing us. Any of those guys on here or sound familiar?
If we come up again, in a few weeks, you guys gotta rep, just let me know were the best place to play, and when everones going.

I want to play the “best” guys from up there, everyone I’ve played so far, is like stuck on low tier…that dosen’t do much against teams like Santhrax,GOD,Combofiend,Row,MSP,Watts. You want to know why SGL sucks? It because nobody plays any more and all the other actual arcades folded up a long time ago. SGL has alwyas sucked ass, has always had broken ass cabinets, and always had “scrubby” ass players. Naughty Nicks used to be pretty good but that was long ago, years before even CvsS1 was out. But their stuff is just as broke. The only reason their sticks are working better than SGL’s is because nobody plays there any more to wear them out.
Anyway, there really are only about 10-12 people who actually play in the arcades here in stockton, and about half of those players all play the same shit characters and style (cvs2: blanka,sagat,bision,cammy,vega,geese,k-groove,a-groove). Then people wonder why they get beat down when the likes of players from sunnyvale come up here.
Bottom line is this, the aracde scene here in stockton has been sucking ass for years now. There are only 2 places to really play fighting games (naughty nicks & SGL), well 3 if you count whimsy, but whimseys sucks. There is not enough people who play consistantly enough and with enough variety to make for good competition. There are however a few of the old school players, like myself, that will still play every now and then. If you are looking for competition you are really better off just meeting people and playing at home and or traveling to other areas outside of stockton.
Maybe if some new arcades were to open up and keep their stuff working, then there might be a better fighting game scene here. BUt untill then things will continue to remain the same, hell its been like this for about the last 6-8 years…
