and lemme criticize your gameplay for a moment here. whenever i was telling you, you take really weird risks. you like took offense to that and tried to defend yourself. well, you’re retarded if you don’t think those were retarded risks you took. for example, you had a good life lead, i had 10% health left, i knocked you down, you wakeup with ex hurricane and kill me. that to me is retarded. if you whiff that, i WIN that round since i had 100% ultra and meter, you had a GOOD sized life lead on me, there was NO need to risk it all on a wakeup reversal. and i just said…“hmmm, you take really weird risks”. now first off, when someone better than you tells you something like that, you shouldn’t really like come back with some witty remark. you’re never gonna be a consistent winner with that risky style.
now to me, lemme try to read into your personality a bit. i feel like you’re the type of person that gets kind of a rush out of taking risks and getting payed off. it’s like poker players who constantly goes on draws. they just get a rush out of hitting their out, but more often than not, they won’t hit. now in a way, i don’t wanna say it’s like exhilarating for you by any means, i just feel like your base personality is that of a simplistic risk taker. that’s why i feel you take certain money matches. you’re just on a draw that prolly won’t hit but you feel like it could.

All I said was “Well I’m not going to block all the time.” And I don’t “get a rush” out of taking risks. But if I think that you’re going to do shit on my wakeup, you can bet your ass that I’m going to reversal. You think I’m a moron? Well aren’t you a bigger moron for getting hit by all of my reversals? You almost never baited me successfully against my Gouken. That’s why I kept doing reversals. I’m not going to be a good little boy and respect that you have an advantage on my wakeup and block all the time if you’re just going to get hit with a reversal 4/5 of the time. And I did block or backdash a lot on wakeup. You just remember the reversals because you got hit by them. Against Glenn I did stop doing reversals because he didn’t get hit by them. I don’t have to play the way you play, carefully weighing risk vs reward and doing the ‘safest’ or ‘smartest’ option. I play based on what I think the opponent is thinking. Because if you play the way you did then, you’re way easier to read than Rex or Glenn. Only if I can’t read my opponent do I play on risk vs reward.
You don’t like my ‘attitude?’ What does that even mean? Half of my comments were giving you props for something that you did. The other half were jokes. I didn’t talk shit at all that night. You want to call me out on shit? Fine, do it on things that I actually did. The only other kind of comment I gave was like the time I told you I can punish you for throwing fireballs in the corner. And you kept doing it for a while, and I punished you with Gouken’s sweep. But I even stopped giving you advice because I knew that you didn’t respect me enough to take it so all it was going to do is make you angry that I dared think I could improve your gameplay.
Here’s the way that you come off to me. You don’t want to have to consider the mindset of the opponent. You just want to play risk vs reward and do the ‘safest’ thing. And then you got pissed when I punished you for it. And if you weren’t playing safe you were intentionally doing unsafe shit because you respect me so little that you think I can’t AA, punish dumb shit, etcetera.
Remember when you first picked Blanka and just did like fifteen slides in a row, and I punished all of them? That’s not the way to beat me, or hell even anyone. Stop doing random shit that you wouldn’t do to anyone else and punish me for what you think I’m going to do. If I’m so easy to read then I shouldn’t even take games off you, right? Because at the end of the day all that matters in this game is who gets the win. It doesn’t matter how they get it. I welcome constructive criticism from anyone, even if it’s wrong. But if you’re not going to help me get better, then just don’t comment on the way I play, because I’m not going to change it unless it starts making me lose games.
The fact of the matter is that risks are an essential part of SF. When someone plays a fireball trap game, one of the best ways to punish them for it is to read their fireball pattern and do a jump in. I know you don’t just jump in the first chance you get, you block or neutral jump some fireballs to get more information on their rhythm.
I’m not gonna be a consistent winner with a risky style? Tell that to Rex. Tell that to Alex Valle. There’s more than one way to play SF and I’m not gonna change just because you don’t like the way I play. I didn’t tell you how to play, don’t try to paint me like a moron because we don’t share the same play style. The only way you’re going to change the way I play is if you beat me consistently, which you don’t. And if you won’t give me respect when I win versus you then I think your head’s in the wrong place.
And I’m just gonna end this whole tl;dr by saying that I do respect your play a lot. You have great footsies, way better than mine, and your execution is impressive. You seem like a pretty cool guy when you talk with other people too. But I just don’t understand what I did to irritate you. I just want to play SF against good players, including you. I’m willing to entertain the idea that maybe we both need an attitude adjustment. But if you’re just going to call me retarded, a very harsh word to me, and basically label me as a worthless person then why should I listen to what you have to say when all it seems you have for me is apprehension?
