yeah, i actually thought it was gonna be a big hookup, but it only ended up bein a few people, which was still cool. got some games in with kiet, jeff, and glen.
yeah, i think my rufus is progressing at a really good rate.
kiet - you should play more with rufus, i think he’d fit your style better. dhalsim is too patient of a character. you have to be pretty patient with him. rufus is a better character anyways :).
i starting to implement some more fadc combo’s into my ryu play. it’s getting SICK!!! watch out.
Alen
You and glen tore me and jeff apart :0. We’ll try to practice on our days off.
Glen
I fucking hate you!!!First the frog that stun you for million years then the fucking pole electric. AFter all that bullshit, I have to deal with your big fuck you arm:rofl:
Rex, thanks alot for the encouragement. You basically wrote in that post what i was knocking around in my head since that night. For some reason i have such a fear of fucking something up I don’t do it. Not to mention a voice in my head saying: Rex, allen, glen etc. are always gonna win and you’re just a putz etc.
It’s completely irrational, and its not just SF4, it’s actually prevalent in my real life as well. I’ll be the first to admit it. I have really low self confidence, and my entire life I was raised by someone with glen’s approach to encouragement: Talk down and shit all over me so I can get angry enough to DO something about it. It can help, and I’m glad Glen does that from time to time, because it feeds much of our community the drive they need to get better…
but after hearing nothing but that all my life with such strong force started driving me pretty nutty, so hearing encouragement from allen, mr. k, kaal, and you rex, really helps me out.
And Glen, you do what you do, but you don’t gotta snake me to get me angry. You beating me is more than enough to kick my ass in high gear.
finally, another person who gets it besides jeff. (excluding the oldies) its all in good spirit. rex has his approach and i have mine. im glad ppl are leveling up. it builds a stronger scene for us. stl really has the force to be put on the map. we just gotta rep.
noodle, just so you know, im not “100%” serious when i say shit. to make things short, ill bluntly say what needs to be said to force knowledge into your head. im not gonna sugarcoat it like most do. like rex said a page or 2 ago…
if we tell you to stop mashing jab, we seriously mean stop mashing jab. we can frame that shit all day long till it gets knocked into your head that its bad.
lol, I haven’t played 4 since monday, as blazblue got me sucked in. i may start switching it up next week, but right now i’m just learning blazblue and trying to turn my noel into an insane sadistic psycho bitch that hates babies and everything else.
thinking about putting myself on a schedule of practice, so every game gets an equal amount of practice. really, the games i’m focusing on is HDR, 4, and BB, at least until the domestic release of TVC, and then T6 comes out. and maybe marvel, but i’m a decade too late on that i think.
any thoughts on how to do this? one game a day? set a daily regimen where i play each game for the same amount of time/matches?
Right, Glenn I know you’re not that serious, and if you tell me to do something I will do it. I didn’t mean to say “Don’t trashtalk me Glenn WAAH!” I was meaning to say that your bite alone is powerful enough get me fired up.
speaking of mashing jab all day, yeah i was doin that in blazblue like that fuckin jab was gettin me high, only cause i don’t know what the fuck im doin in that game. once I learn combos I’ma cut that shit out. :looney:
honestly that may be too many games to get good at any. its hard to learn a bunch of games unless your already realy gifted at street fighter. i can play maybe 2-3 at a time, but i can see how my sthd game dropped off after four, and how my four game has dropped off after i started school. its all about practice, time, and experience. if you as good as glen or allen you can get away without practicing very much, but non asians gotta work hard son! id say choose two games to practice…sf4 and blazblue there i chose for you
hd will be dead after evo, normal st will be back soon but i doubt it will regain the status it was at before 4, blaz, kof12, tekken 6
That’s why I stick to pad when tournament time comes and use stick at a hook up or casuals. I’m just better on pad. But on BB its a mix cuz I can do supers fine on a stick but not on a pad. Analog helps a tad. Execution is just something I’m going to have to work on. There’s other stuff too but I’m workin on them. It just kind of sucks feeling so far behind, because that’s not where I want to be at all.
BTW, need me to bring a PS3 or 360 tomorrow since I have SFIV and BB on both?
my limit is 2. i agree 2-3 games should be a good limit. im not saying u shouldnt play as many games as you want, but u will notice little very improvements in your gameplay juggling many games (exclude j. wong)
lol well one was lag, one you hit me too high, when that happens gravity makes the person fall faster :looney: you gotta input it when the opponent is higher in their decent then you normaly would. ggs man joplin truly is the home of mash jab, i crossed up akuma and saw like 5 wtf. mash jab realy only half works with boxer bro, i would do it with akuma Who else was i playing with? that ryu player never seemed to learn about wakeup dp Where was the viper player, i want to play him again.
oh that was probably my friend Final Rush, he is a total button masher i also played a little akuma but i cant seem to get that flip kick into super demon trick
there were three of us playing, me triv and rush
also last time we played viper guy i think we beat him bad enough to make him play bb :looney: at least, he hasnt come to any more hookups?
I finally managed to get two random online games in this morning before the baby woke up hungry. Man, I got rusty fast. It’s only been a week, and I was missing easy stuff.
Strangely, I landed Akuma’s anti-air ultra twice without even thinking about it. I guess I’ve practiced that enough that it’s a muscle memory thing, now.
3rd strike is a shitty game. last year’s evo results, top 5 were chun-li. next 200 were ken, throw a few yun’s in there. such a shitty ass game. the game is completely dominated by 1 character, it’s so dumb.
if i ever see a major tourney like evo or sbo where top 5 in sf4 is sagat. i’m quittin the game. but i doubt that’ll happen because sagat is nowhere near as dominant as chun is in 3rd strike.
@Rex -
I’ll see whats up. I have house guests, but I could probably convince here to come along as long as I don’t stay too late. I’ll call and let you know.
@Doc Holiday -
Taokaka is where its at. That cat has hella combos and just eats Arakune alive on hit. 7 Drive Pounces in a single combo followed up with 6 hit Scratches. THAT’S WHATS UP!!
