I’m having fun, but this is a total stretch compared what I’m used to (and I wasn’t even good at that!) so it’s a bit of an adjustment. I like Rachel because it seems like she has the most unique drive, it fucking affects everything and that’s awesome.
Some of the punish combos she’s able to do off of just slipheeding in with a down C (I thinK? The drill thing) are amazing, and her ground strings that you use Silpheed in hurt like hell as well.
Only problem is I have no clue how to defend myself against RTSD Noel, Ragna, Tao or weirdly enough Jin. I’ve read threads and shit and they’re like “You have to wait.” but if you wait too long you get guard broken, it’s weird that a top tier character literally has to wait for the enemy to fuck up their blockstring before she can attack.
I mean once I attack, unless I get CH, I get some really good damage in, but it’s no where near like a Ragna combo still.
i knew japan was in a whole other level. justin losing to a random dic = USA is not gonna rep well when sbo is ALL top pros. USA’s slow style is not gonna work against them.

I feel that. I haven’t really messed wit her yet because I’m tryin to get my combos down wit Rachel and figure out an effective ground and anti air game. I have to atleast master something on my main before I move on to something else and play around. I got frog set ups that take over 4000 damage. So she coming along quite well. Juss need to get more player experience wit out the somewhat lag from online, even doe its alot better since the patch came out and I can hit my combos.
Uhh about waiting. If you have meter, u can juss DA (4AB) and its knocks them back pretty far which allows you enough time to set up pumpkin and frog for offence and def and set out some rods in between time. I mean the window for that is not minutes but it is some much needed seconds that can put you back in the game after a rush down. Also using Barrier pushes them a ways back too and if they try to IAD, you can juss use 6A which can lead into CH 5B jB jC dj 2C 236A 2D (Pumpkin-Wind Oki)

Blazblue is cool as hell but i dont see how it can be taken seriously, v13 lol. I wasnt even getting owned but i could tell a good v13 is just gonna be dumb.
So, I had a game night tonight. A few of my friends came over and chilled. Two of them wasn’t really great, mostly just playing randomly. One of my friends though, I’ve been training in SC4, and he does alright. I put blazblue in his hands, and he picked up on it pretty well, and is picking up…much to MY disgust, Arakune.
He has a tendency to mash, and blowing his Barrier Burst super quick, but he has the basic Arakune strat down; if I can get him learning advanced stuff, away from mashing, he could be contender. Maybe I’ll get him over to AR sometime.
Going to try to sell my smash friends on this game next time I catch up with them. I’m pretty sure it’ll be an easy sell.
Oh yeah, and once I get my levels/matches in, Ranked FTL…as always. Nothing but drive spamming Noels/Ragnas, and 5C mashing Jins, and the random headbutt Tagers. If I face anyone else, I have a feeling it might actually be a better match.
Actually faced a decent Carl tonight, couldn’t get me in his air Nirvana loop, was waiting for him to try it, and was able to defend his launchers into it.
Been working on my Bang. I got his BnBs down and I think I got a FRKZ combo to try on peeps. Tager is coming along pretty well too. I can’t go to KC because of work, but if anyone’s hosting Tues-> Thurs I’ll be there.
its a shame im really starting to agree with rex here: v-13 is making this game pretty silly. she is not fun to fight or play as at all. somethings wrong if i pick her for the first time and immediately do a 30 hit combo. If I want to mash one fuckng button all day, I’ll play a shmup like battle garegga or ikaruga or something, and arakune is just as bad you mash C with a sprinkle of D instead.
I guess I haven’t had the problems with v-13 that everyone else has? I mean yeah, the projectile spam is ridiculous, but I have no problems breaking through it.
