It’s going to be great when all the scrubs who think the only reason they lost was because of mashed DPs or “turtling” try out MVC3. I wonder what the new excuse is going to be.
These people are going to lose A LOT. I cant wait to lay the hurt down.
Yeah I’m gonna stop playing SSF4 for awhile and bring my scrub tactics to Marvel, but it just really depends on how Marvel is going in a few months that will determine if I completely drop SSF4. It just looks like a better game period.
Will be playing MvC3 heavily for the first few months. Then I’ll have an even play session between all fighting games over time - same as all past fighting game releases.
Can’t see myself playing one fighting game. Hell no. lol

In April MK9 comes out, unless MvC3 stays very popular I’ll probably trade it in by then or just get both. I really just don’t give crap either way. There is no reason to play that old fossil of a game.
Though it is rather confusing. Some people were trying to force tactics in a formula based game. It’s those formula players who seem to be complaining now, I find that both ironic and funny.
Even if there isn’t tactics, even if spam can override a lot of formula, pretty sure I can at least play much faster than the other person. That stupid air dash doesn’t seem to be as fast and when I get bored and taunt the person they won’t have a 0 frame super.
Explain this tactics/formula distinction to me. It may very well be terms I know by definition but I certainly never heard of this distinction til recently. And I hope to Zod that this isn’t another case of arbitrarily shifting around the vernacular, it’s so annoying keeping up with the latest name for roman cancel.
I said that, too, but most people here take themselves way too seriously. They never go to tournaments, or travel, of course, but they still think they’re amazing and elite and need to totally dedicate themselves so they can be wicked awesome good! I don’t have time for SF4, are you crazy? I need to be practicing MVC3! Why?.. just… ju… BECAUSE!
I’ve dropped Super in favor of AE (once it came out to Round 1 back in December), because playing Super will not help you adjust to AE at all.
I’m sticking with with MvC3 because…fuck, most of us have waited 10 years for this And like all things, it’s new. (And probably more importantly, it looks balanced compared to MvC2)
But I will go back-and-forth between Marvel to SF when AE comes to consoles as well, or whatever new version of SFIV gets it’s final update. And yes, both Marvel and SFIV have there own followings to set them apart.
But for now, MvC3 baby.
ON A SIDE NOTE: Super (most likely AE by then) might die out when SFxT comes out.
I’ll be playing both and also Mortal Kombat in April. Obviously my Street Fighter playtime will drop but that always happens when a new game comes out simply because it’s new and refreshing but then it goes back up.
I stopped playing SF4 about 4-5 weeks after vanilla hit shelves and haven’t touched it since. Hate that game with a passion, and it doesn’t matter to me if all of the FG players around here play it almost exclusively, im not suffering that shit. So really, im not jumping ship to play marvel3, im just playing marvel 3. Loved MVC2, liked tatsunoko, loved my experiance with the mvc3 pre-release builds, I honestly see myself sticking with this game for a long time. (at least until the next melty blood, if it ever happens)
Why do people think you have to spent 24/7 on a game to get good at it? I am a student in collge completing a double major in chemistry and math, I am learning to play SC2, and I STILL can compete with top level players at SSF4. Because when I practice I make my time count instead of spending all day just playing.
It isn’t about how much you practice, but how well you learn. Even Alex Valle said he is holding down two jobs and still manages to place well.
