Easy.
You download it on a computer (if you don’t own one, go to an internet cafe) from OC remix’s website.
You put it on your iphone/mp3 player or whatever.
You turn down the music in the SFHD audio setting, and launch the song on your mp3 player (or connect it to a hi-fi system).
Claw is fine until the music speeds up then it is horrid.
Zangief`s theme sounds like something someone made on an old school Radio Shack keyboard.
I wish you could pick each song individually in Options so you could use say Remix Fei Long but use the Old Gief music. It is an easier fix than tossing the new music out the window. The problem is what is good music to listen too isn`t always good music to fight to. These tracks all sounded better on their own than in the actual game.
It sounds like they threw all of the old midi data into Cubase, ran it through a bunch of VST plug-ins and then loaded up some boring commercial drum loops to give it a modern edge. The original music sounds the way it does because it was composed at a time when video game sound chips were limited in their capacity. The remixed music is cynical and calculated in comparison. It’s not as pure as the old stuff.
same can be said with all 8-16 bit music vs modern disc based music. i think its a little unfair to bash the music creators cuz they are in a time where they arent using limited sound chips and have to rely on blips and bleeps to make music.
this is modern times. sorry, but most casuals like modern music over blips and bleeps/midi music.
ok i gotta admit, rog and claw’s music has grown on me a bit. especially claw. but the speed up music is still god awful.
I’m not saying that a more modern soundtrack is bad. I’m saying that the remixed music is too much of a throwback to the original music. It’s still blips and bleeps, but this time it sounds that way on purpose, which is why it’s cynical and calculated. I think they should have taken the original music and orchestrated it properly with better samples and more use of real instruments instead of turning it into some modern version of chip music with techno drum loops.
udnerstand too, that these tracks were made years ago, for free use. just people with no money and just making music using their computers, and maybe a midi keyboard, and some free time. gotta respect that.
The “classic” music is the CPS-2 music (from the Super Street Fighter 2 series). I’d like an option for the original music (used in SF2WW to SF2HF). IMHO the CPS-2 music is shit. I hated everything with the music and sound effects in the SSF2 series–Guile’s voice, the dude who announces the rounds, Sagat’s voice & projectile sounds, etc…
I like the intro music (Clamato Fever) and the new Akuma theme the best. I am surprise the OP rated Blanka’s theme so low. It isn’t the most catchy or memorable, but I think it is an excellent upgrade of Blanka’s stage. The use of the various sounds and instruments and the little things really make it an excellent piece.
While Cammy’s theme didn’t immediately come to mind, I have to admit it is another extremely well done theme.
I miss the old boxer and claw themes the most. The new claw theme just doesn’t fit him. The old boxer theme was great and the new one seems to be missing the energy.
