I like, I like. Just listened to the interview with Ed Ma and I have to agree it is very helpful. Thank you Gootecks!!!
AMERICA sticks. Save for a lone machine in the back.
Damn. Thanx for teh info
i saw kofriend on 2df tonight lol
Best advice from a third strike pro player. Smoke weed.
Man, this is some amazing insight (Weed-smokong aside)! Gootecks, this is really cool what you got here!
I would like to hear something from Frankie3s, though…Amir didn’t talk about Ryu much, so Frankie might be more suitable to talk to, especially concerning his Denjin game and crazy anticipation. Plus the 5-star interview gave as a hint of how fun that interview would be! MAKE IT HAPPEN!
damn i wish there were some ways of asking questions to them during the interview or something??
Perhaps submitting a donation with your question might entice me to ask some other people’s questions. :lovin: Too bad I didn’t think of this earlier though, as the next 2.5 episodes are already recorded with Emphy, Justin Wong and kofiend.
Thank you everyone for the feedback and the donations!
Basically learning how to parry incredibly well comes down to the following quote: “Hey hey hey hey (long pause) smoke weed every day.”
AWW nuggets LOL
im about to set up a paypal account soon so i can donate some cheese for you guys
i cant wait to hear what the other guys have to say…keep it up man
p.s- you should RLY continue these podcasts since everyone seems to love it and its rly helping a lot of players see the LIGHT lol
how about one with the japs at Evo?? any thoughts?
Thanks, it’s much appreciated! I would love to continue doing the podcast as long as there is a need even after SBO. Hopefully people would be willing to donate at least a fraction of what they have so far.
If this paid for my 3s games and gas to go to FFA every weekend I’d be thrilled with that.
Probably will not be going to evo so I don’t think that’d be possible.
An interesting idea for the future: Why don’t you have mid level players ask questions? Part of leveling up is simply being stuck in situations where you personally can’t figure out the answer to.
Me and Shogo were discussing a similar idea like that. I might do it or we might get someone else to do it. Anyways, the new episode with Emphy is out now.
Awesome. I will be listening to it soon.
haha emphy is about as empty minded as i am when it comes to the game
edit: haha urien vs urien yessss, the only matchup where i go balls out.
Nice work gootecks, I wish these podcasts got a bit more technical, but thats just me.
Needs more dudley
some one get frankie about RYU PLEASSEEE
Thanks! How do you mean more technical? More frame data, more matchup questions, timing??
Yeah…the only way you could get more technical is to throw in frame data and shit like that. From the interviews I’ve heard…it definitely seems that the players understand the game more at a “this works cuz I’ve tried it enough and it does” level than picking it apart frame by frame like a lot of people on SRK try to do. I play the same way really. I barely ever study the frame data in itself. Some of the advanced stuff the players tried to get into had a hard time explaining it an ways. Some things are hard to explain unless you show someone or try hard to remember how you do it yourself.
yeah i got that same style…im sure it goes for every good or higher level player…we just dont play by data and all that stuff…we learn our tricks from the field and thats the only place to explain it to its fullest extent than to just write it on paper…thats probably the one thing that makes it hard to understand why top players are in a different league than average players…top players have the experience…average players just use frame data to say oh i missed the reversal cuz i didnt execute on the right frame
