How are Ryu, and Urien in the same tier as Dudley and Akuma?
I thought high tier of 3s was Dudley, Akuma, Yang?
Urien is definately upper mid. And Ryu is pretty good. I wouldnt diss him by putting him with Remy and shit.

I’ve always been told that Urien is the last one in the upper-mid tier, and that Ryu is the first one in the Mid tier. Urien and Ryu are just barely on different sides of the mid tier line.
Somehow, he has better frame advantages on the 2P side…

The ninjas would definitely be up there…but when did Christie go from being the BOTTOM character to being high-mid tier? Same goes for Leon
And I seriously doubt that Kasumi or Ayane would be ahead of Gen Fu. And Ein should probably be higher up as well.
If I was going to make up a tier list off the top of my head, it’d be (generally):
High: Hayabusa, Gen Fu
Mid-High: Kasumi, Ayane, Hayate(maybe higher), Ein, Lei Fang, Zack (maybe lower)
Mid: Tina, Spartan, Bayman (maybe higher), Helena, Elliot, Jann Lee
Mid-Low:Bass, Leon
Low: Tengu, Christie(maybe higher), Mariposa, Brad Wong
But yeah…what’s changed the past few months that would push up those characters?

It’s from the Japanese “Master File” book made by famitsu, based on solid numbers. Probably the best tier list you’re going to get.
How come Ein is bottom tier? He doesn’t have the highest damage, but he’s got a fairly solid mixup game, and his throws aren’t really BAD.
And how come Brad ISN’T bottom tier? His entire game boils down to a couple of juggles that start off with middle kicks.
Well, Master File was based on solid numbers and not tools, which is why some things like that would happen. But otherwise, nobody has really accepted a tierlist, it’s always been opinionated. The Master File is probably the most solid to rely on, even if it has inconsistancies for not factoring in tools. Until there’s a better community for the game to come up with a list that everyone will agree upon, it is probably the best thing to use at the time being. I really don’t want to get into another long argument about a tierlist that eventually becomes about “Is DOA4 a good game”, because we’ve all done that a million times over.
Here’s all the numbers for that list though.
I wasn’t trying to put you on trial or anything, just curious. But yeah, that tier list would definitely point to damage and speed to being the key factors to determine tier…which I don’t believe is true.
