A couple of tanks in your main will stop anything but a big drop. Be sure to put the tanks next to a missile turret so he doesn’t drop directly on the tanks, negating seige mode.
In TvT you really want to go metal. Tanks in sufficient number destroy MMM. The flavor of the month build in this matchup is Tanks and Vikings. Vikings fly out ahead of the tanks to spot for them and own everything else in the air (banshee, BC).
should i be manually rally pointing each mineral from the nexus? or can i just click on any mineral and the probe will automatically choose the mineral? i keep hearing day 9 talk about probe/mineral saturation and i see him manually assigning a different mineral when he’s producing a probe (not sure if this is just a habit from BW)
how should i be micro’ing stalkers?
how do i set healthbars to be shown all the time, and how do i show the ingame clock?
I would love to play some team games, but I can’t bring myself to do random team games anymore. I always get paired with someone who is hell bent on cannoning their base and building no units. Last game I played a teammate did a fast expansion, but in their version of it, they didn’t build any marines or other non-scv units until 11 minutes into the game.
My mouse broke mid game this weekend, I should be able to have a new one up and playing tonight to tide me over until the SC2 mouse releases.
The thing with workers mining on a patch is that if you rally them to individual patches until you have pairs, you’ll have a slight advantage over letting your workers find the free minerals themselves; If it moves to the center, then it has to go from your base, to the patch, then over to a free patch; if you do it manually you get them to move directly from your base to the free patch. The pathfinding is infinitely better than BW when it comes to workers mining, but still in the early game you don’t have much else to do so might as well do something useful.
Once the shit gets going, just rally to the center of the mineral patch and get microing your army
Sensor tower is pretty important for any terran going heavy on tanks. Great for spotting drops, flanks, and exactly where cloaked units like ghosts are.
During the game, my brain draws blanks and i’m not sure what the hell i’m suppose to be doing… I’m in the bronze league!!! haha. Now, is there a great site to go to for strats, theory, etc?
Muta/ling still worked, but it was believed (falsely, imo) by most that roaches were 100% dominant. They were better than they are now, but were a bit overrated in the matchup in my eyes.
If they went hard roaches on most maps you just had to get a quick +1 attack for lings and build a few spine crawlers when they moved out with roaches.
Or just wait until they moved out, and then flood their base with speedlings, which killed an empty base much faster than roaches. Done.
P.S. On some maps, like steppes of war, it was a different story and roaches were pretty dominant (and are still really really good)
