Tell me about it. I just won a ffa where basically I was the only one attacking and I ended up defeating all 3 other players myself. The last player basically walled himself off using cannons.
ggs Uftg and HaiDuongRiceMan those games were hilarious.
GGs Sacred.
Also, cannons give noobs a sense of comfort. Cannons blow ass. I’d rather have a Stalker.
They’re decent for certain situations but yes I feel like a lot of people pick Protoss just because they have photon cannons and it’s kind of stupid.
Magnetro .660 Terran || I’m pretty bad at this game. Just started playing when it came out. I’m about to level up to silver =/
GGs today. It amuses me when they continue to warp in cannons when I have Siege Tanks right outside the base.
Should I just keep playing like crazy to improve? I’ve only played about 30 games of SC in my life (all SC2) and I’m in Bronze League.
I use Toss and have been using Four Gate most of the time because I don’t know the counters and how to scout well.
I’m having a blast though, and I plan on playing at least 20 games a day.
I’d say play and watch replays otherwise you might just keep doing the same mistakes. Find a build that works and keep doing it to go up the ladder. If the system works, you will get to the point where your build won’t work anymore then you can start analyzing and learning different builds.
Im still online for a bit if people are playing.
I was loosing a bit till I decided to ling rush over and over
Makes me feel gay
But then I realize that i need to keep attacking
so its all good
Cannons are useful for early-mid game protection if you expanded and you don’t have a strong enough army to fend off a well timed push yet. For the most part, cannons are awful against terran since bioballs tear cannons up in seconds but they’re useful against standard protoss gateway armies (big dps + health for 150 mineral) and decent against zerg roach + hydra. I find cannons very situational and totally based on whether or not you can think you can beat a push without static defense help.
I’ve never played SC1 seriously, just always playing lame UMS maps or vs 1-2 computers offline. It seems like the placement league is kind of lame so far. I think I might skip it. I’m definitely maining Zerg, just because I used to play them a lot in SC1 and so far I’m liking their style. My main problem so far is not spending money. Another thing I’m missing out on is realizing what the opponent is doing from their buildings. I can figure out if they’re teching or pushing, but as far as figuring out what units they’re going for and how to counter it, still missing it.
I mostly use cannons for the detect to free up my observers, and to prevent single void ray/banshee harass on my mineral line.
@Irennicus: You need to get corruptors to eat up those Colossi since they tear up Hydras for free. Then you can move in your hydras to clean up. Spread creep, overseers, spore crawlers, and burrowed units everywhere and the toss will be afraid to move his army around.
I haven’t played against any really good zerg players yet except maybe in 3v3 or 4v4.
Does zerg have any other AA other than hydras?
corruptors, queens, spore crawlers, and mutas can all attack air
the single player challenges are a good way to learn how to micro and what units counter what
damn yall making me wanna buy this shiz right now…
was hoping to wait till it got a lil cheaper…
So I got moved up to silver. Now I’m finding out that I have to put more missile turrets around my command center to avoid all the dropship attacks I’ve been seeing in the TvT matchup. Any idea of what I should do to stay aggressive? I’ve been doing MMM to Mass Vikings and my ratio is like 1:2 right now in TvT.
It’s really hard for me to pick corruptors over mutas in this situation, but I’ll give it a try.
