StarCraft II Matchmaking Thread

maybe you can show me some korean top level terran players sitting and not attacking top level zerg players

You must be trolling cause I have no idea what you’re talking about. I never brought up anything about korean players, or terran players never attacking. Seriously WTF are you talking about? I simply wanted to know what you quoted me on cause I looked at my previous posts and none of them relate to what you’re talking about. Whatever you’re obviously trolling.

YouTube - PsyStarcraft’s Channel

Those notes were supposedly posted up by a blue on the sc2 forum and then deleted but someone copy+pasted it to the internet. I like Psy’s quote on it the best, “General consensus is these notes are, for the most part, fake. I agree for a few reasons: Carriers already spawn with 4 interceptors. Zerg scouting would be OP with that kind of speed on OLs. Moving creep pooping mechanic isn’t blizzardesque. CD on mules on Terran would actually require them to macro and 20 energy cost for inject balances the macro too much”

Yeah those notes are like 99% chance fake, it originated on team liquid and is constantly removed whenever posted because the mods say it was fake

Name me a zerg player that consistently makes a 3rd hatch in his main or natural before taking a 3rd base.

SC2, not broodwar. :nono:

Aw man, no Slip n’ Slide turbo 'lords? :frowning:

omfg tlo vs hyperdub is definitely the best game of the gsl so far

first match is the best, prolly the best game of the gsl. you don’t need to pay to watch the first game so everyone should watch it.

Check Prime, check him vs just fake game 1. He’s one of the only zerg players whos managed to make it to the round of 16. I’ve noticed it quite a bit with the korean zergs in general, they dont hesitate to throw down an extra hatchery in their base, I’ve seen them do it a lot outside of their natural for the creep spread and the closer larvae

He also does it in round of 64 vs New Werra game 2, but this time he puts it in front of his natural at the same time he takes a secret expansion. The commentators say it’s because he had too much money and was playing bad, but I’m not sure if its just not his strategy in certain circumstances. Definitely not something he does 100% but keep an eye on his games and see what he does

That’s what I was saying earlier. The 3rd hatch in main or natural goes down at the same time the 3rd expo is taken. That’s the point where your income can support it. You don’t have enough gas to fully support 3 hatches off of 2 base in SC2. Lings are too weak, and you need more gas heavy units.

Same dude who thought his youtube vids/commentary was good. He is obviously trying to troll all of us.

This is pretty cool. Probably has no use in a real game unless maybe you’re protecting a wide entrance and you have 4 bunkers with ~6 marauders protecting it while your army is out raping.

haha I just remembered, I woke up at like 3:00 in the middle of the night, and in my dream TLO had just lost his match. I remember being really disappointed because all the foreigners were out. Then I realized I was dreaming and I hadn’t been watching the match at all. Then I realized he was probably playing his match at that very moment and I was somehow getting updates in my dream. Then I realized he was playing last and hadn’t even played yet… haha. Damn crazy having TLO dreams. Haven’t watched the match yet I’m just getting around to the first match and he’s up last : O So we’ll see if my dream was accurate or not

Edit: OGSTheWind vs anyPro Game 1, puts up hatchery at his main before taking a third expansion

Hatch in main before third happens, but it’s far from normal play. The way I see taking an auxillary hatch early in the game is to take a very specific timing window. For instance, you aren’t going to fund more than banes/lings and tech at the same time with just two hatches in main but you can fund a lot of banes/lings and take a decent advantage if you move quickly enough after taking that auxillary hatch. I’m sure my hatred for auxillary hatches early in the game is a little over bearing, but it’s only because I usually tend to think long-term all the time. Sometimes it really is good to be able to recognize a significant short-term advantage.

He was trapped at his natural because of the warpgate push… aka not standard. That was my whole point. It’s not standard to stay on 2 base and have 3 hatcheries. Wind was trapped, so when it was time to take a 3rd he couldn’t.

I even build my 3rd hatch in my main on occasion, usually for the same reason Wind did in his match.

I dont even know why you quoted me, cause what your talking about has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Im not even going to bother anymore, you people keep trolling your self. Like I never said my youtube channel was good, or bragging about it in the 1st place. I was making a point, not bragging. Clearly you people think you know more then koreans and that makes me laugh, I also think its funny to talk about someones channel that not to many people care about since, 99% of people on youtube are idiots and want to watch scrubs play MvC2 .
And btw my other channel is for play throughs which 99% of my viewers come from, most of them dont care about SC2, I put vids on there for the hell of it.

Keep trolling your self people your doing a fantastic job. Thread is full of nothing but noobs and idiots

To be fair, every thread appears that way as soon as you post in it.

Gonna be uploading some replays, so please give me some constructive criticism. I normally don’t play 1v1s unless no one else is on though.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you’re a nice guy and I can only guess that you’re trolling for kicks. If my assumptions are wrong and you’re completely serious then you might need to get yourself checked out. You’re basically arguing with your imaginary rival right now since what you’re talking about doesn’t relate to what anyone else is talking about. You’re just off in your own little world starting arguments with shadows. With that said I’ll just choose the former and say you’re trolling for kicks cause that later would just be sad.

Guys stop quoting him, it’s better not having to read his posts and have him on ignore. Every time you quote him my IQ goes down because I’m tricked into reading it

TLO vs HyperDub Series and random GSL stuff

Spoiler

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Fuck you hyperdub you piece of shit deserve to die for your bronze level play : (
haha not seriously, but I’m tired of seeing good players go out to bullshit tactics. Was so glad that terran player who proxied each game and knocked out the top protoss got 2-0d effortlessly today too

This I’m not 100% sold on. I mean he was contained, he defended it, he had his opponent pull back into his base because of his counter attack, and he finally had some breathing room, and he at this point put down the hatchery. That sounds like the best time to expand.

To me it seems like this: if you need income, take an expansion. Weaker short term but pays off long term. If you need units to attack, put up one in your base. Its easier to defend and lets you get out your attack force better, and you’re not stuck into the “should I build workers or fighters” mentality because you have enough for both. Even the commentators mention how this is becoming more standard in Korean Zerg play, so I’d argue it IS standard to some extent. But zergs typically taking their expansion shortly after this hatch, probably after they have enough units to feel safer with a vunerable expansion.

Too often it seems like Zerg just wants to expand expand expand and then they are confused why they keep dying, and cry about how weak their race is. Of course it does seem they need SOMETHING to help but it’s nowhere near the level zerg players think it is

PFH lake is as delusional as MasterAkuma (Dont know how many of you remember him)

Even when he isnt trying to troll, he is actually trolling harder than anyone could possibly attempt to.

Anyways, the patch is soon upon us! Hoping for many good things, but I know this wont fix all the problems and bring up new ones. Just hoping it doesnt make toss as weak as Zerg is right now.
