I won’t be able to play much this coming weekend, but ranbat sounds fun.
Yeah I’d talked with my brother about that, an SRK league type thing. Maybe just a league period with the SRK branding that we open up to people. I think ranbat battles sound good, and if we just do it where you have to play your match sometime during the week instead of saying “Everyone play at X time on saturday” we’d be able to get more participation. I’m up for it.
You also reminded me to finish my commentaries from the last tournament, I am finally over being sick I think so my voice can handle a commentary without coughing through the whole thing, I’ll try to finish them up this weekend
Yeah a global league thing would be sick but an SRK league won’t work for sure cus it’ll be just us pretty much. Hell if there is a global league I’d change my bnet handle to represent srk cus we all know clans support is beyond Blizzard’s capability.

I just ran into this and it looks like just the thing we need. I don’t know how big it will be though because the sc2 season hasn’t started yet. Signup ends the 17th so we have 2 days lol. The only thing is as much as I love the idea, I don’t think I can fill the roll of a leader so someone more dedicated should sign us up. Irrenicus?
Ro32 of GSL is way better than the Ro64. Hella intense games.
I can’t deny it anymore, ZvT is imbalanced. I will out play my opponent in every aspect of the game yet still lose. I’m about to just switch back to T cause it’s getting frustrating playing Z to the point where it isn’t fun. I like ZvP and ZvZ is alright, but ZvT is so bad that it makes me not even want to play the race (and to an extent SC2).
yeah man, i only play zerg when i pick random race on 3v3 or 4v4 games, and they just seem like the hardest race to play. in tournament results, there are very few zergs, and there are fewer zergs in diamond.
i been reading on TL and one of the interesting points people make is that zerg don’t have nearly as many cool options to use. terran get all these creative openings involving reapers, hellions, banshees, and so on in addition to standard bread and butter MMs, and even more end game options. almost all these units have an special ability that can be activated. toss have phoenix or void ray openings in addition to standard bread and butter. zerg just don’t have many ways to “express themselves”.
In BW they had stuff like defilers and lurkers and muta micro which just made things interesting and opened up tons of options. IMO, the zerg needs another spellcasting unit. unfortunately, putting BW defiler into SC2 would imba the game cause dark swarm would wreck terrans lol, they’d have literally NO response to ultraling dark swarm except hellions. so i dunno.
I think 2 infestors should be able to mutate into a strong attacking unit much like the HT - archon fusion. Maybe like a mini-brutalisk or something.
Ironically dark swarm is in the game; only its on a terran unit AND it only works against your opponents
Zerg might not have any lower level spellcasting units (well they do have the queen), but neither does Terran, that seems to be Protoss fortay right now. Infestors are pretty cool at being that tide turning spell caster, but I’d like to see them able to cast while burrowed without using the glitch, that’d be such an interesting mechanic and kind of make up for not having lurkers by making you always afraid not to have detection
Besides, wouldn’t it be unfair to require zerg to have MORE micro? adding a clutch spell casting unit to the mix on top of already needing to micro roaches, lings, and banelings different (all while magic boxing your mutas) seems to just exacerbate the problem and not fix it at most levels where people are playing the game currently anyway. Give speedlings the ability to morph into a cliff hopping unit and retain their same speed/damage and I think you’d have an interesting twist to help zerg out in an interesting way. I’ll see if its possible to give cliffwalking to units in the editor
The problem with Z has less to do with creativity and more to do with a lack of options in general. We don’t need any cutesy spell casters (or any other additional units), the units we have now are fine. What needs to be done is re balancing these units.
Haha yeah Terran does have dark swarm I forgot about that.
The reason I think zerg should get another spellcaster is just because the other two races have two spellcasters. Terran have Ravens and Ghosts which add all sorts of versatility, Toss have Templar and Sentries. Imo queens dont really count as a spellcaster because they don’t really fulfill that combat support role. So zerg only have infestors, and while they are super cool, it’d be nice if they had other options.
I like the idea of a cliff hopping zerg unit, zerg would be able to do more harass of their own in the opening instead of having to just react to harass.
Starting to feel the jump in difficulty since moving to platinum. Makes all previous platinum players I’ve beaten seem like accidents.

Unfortunately, any cool changes to zerg will have to wait till the xpansion. Zerg will get some boosts in the next patch so hold tight! I do wish the zerg music could improve a bit. That music just blows…
