I pretty much just play custom maps tho. The map editor for SC2 is amazing. I’m super psyched to see what creative shit people come up with.
EDIT: Oh, and I’d just like to clear this up, some people seem to think the identifier numbers are the number of people that chose your name before you did. This is not the case. I was not the 863rd person to type in the name Galactic. Those 3 numbers after your name are randomly generated, I think between 100 and 999. So you might very well be the first person to have chosen your specific name, hell, you might be the ONLY person with that name. It wouldn’t matter, you’d still have a random 3 digit number attached to you.

ggs the other night Iren, I really suck versus Zerg. Of course I learned from our last game that I can’t do 4 gate + robo push off one base haha, have to scale it back to 3 or take an expansion. Bleh.
We’ll get some more games in, I’m usually doing games/spectate rotations with small groups of friends

Yeah, just make sure to keep your case clean and dust free (take an aircan, go outside, and clean your heatsink/fans people!) and it shouldn’t be too bad. If your have a bad card, bad air ventilation, or a crappy laptop, you’re screwed; the framerate cap is a good idea if its constantly crashing for you.
luckily I haven’t had any issues at all. I just posted it up in case others did. Though I did cap my framerate just in case.
I played some 2s with a friend. First time I played outside of the practice league (which I’m still in btw), and wow. I knew I was bad, but I didn’t realize just how bad 
. Luckily my friend is in Diamond league and doing well, so he covered my ass in one game (but we got hit hard in another). I really need practice lol

so i been 1v1ing my friend in diamond league to get better. man am i getting raped.
so i play practice league to boost self esteem. practice league is gross. all your ramps are filled up with rocks. so all you need to do is mass air units to win. reminds me of bgh days in sc. nasty.
so i skipped practice league and started placement matches yesterday. my friend told me i can win all 5 by void ray rushing. i played 2 matches yesterday, walled off ramp, built two void rays, and won both games that way. its kind of ridiculous. should i push my luck? it seems too easy. and im not learning much out of it, other than that my opponents arent doing a good job scouting, which would easily counter void rays for free, and that they are salty as hell losing to such a simple tactic. first guy was like “howd you get 2 voids before i got 5 mutas?” and second guy was like “good job noob ray” followed by a 3 letter synonym for queer (why does srk censor this word?)
i think for my other 3 matches i’ll try playing legit, but i suck at this game
Pay attention to your friend’s replays. Void rays aren’t a terrible strategy but they are a horrible crutch to depend on. If all you do is void ray rush then you’ll constantly lose to players who actually know how to counter it and never improve your game. Even if you did advance through the ranks like that eventually you’ll run into a bunch of people who you will never beat. My brother got to gold league by 6 pool rushing every time…but now he has trouble beating people who aren’t phased by that shit.

agreed on the crutch thing, that’s why i don’t want to keep abusing it. its so gimmicky.

also whats a good counter to marauders + medivacs? i was playing another friend who kept beating me with those. finally i beat him using … VOID RAYS :sad:
still learning all the units and what they do, haven’t finished campaign, campaign is confusing because many units in campaign aren’t usable in multiplayer, weird.
IMO SP is its own different entitiy.
When I’m done with SP…I’m starting over with MP.
You can look up your identifier by holding your pointer over the portrait in the top right of bnet or by clicking the add friend button on the bottom right.
Marauders + Medivacs would probably be beaten somewhat easily by a healthy gateway mix. Build some zealots/stalkers and a few sentries for the ranged damage reduction. If you tech up successfully I’d recommend adding some immortals to your mix.
Alternatively you could mass phoenixes and kill his medivacs and then just graviton beam all the marauders for the luls.
IIRC, Gateway units can do OK against marauder/medevac if you can get some mileage out of blink stalkers, well-placed forcefields, or chargelots.
How do you counter Void Rays with zerg? For me both Muts and Hydras get raped. Should I combine the two?
