Everything I’ve seen said the only way to drop out of grandmasters is to let your bonus pool go over 180, and it hasn’t been long enough for that; maybe he was playing on a different server like NA?

Question: In PvZ higher play, why is it that z rarely gets mutas???
My attempt at that question until nature gets to it:
Going mutas means you will have to go away from corruptors which are necessary if the toss goes colossi. Also it means your infestor count will be either 0 or really low which in the current state is dangerous. There is a tiny timing for mutas imo but it is extremely hit or miss. If you don’t do enough economic damage with them in the time before blink stalkers/storm or they cannon up then the protoss just marches up and you die. It would be more viable on maps were the natural and the 3rd are hard to protect. Such as a scrap station. If the toss repels it though you are stuck with a roach muta composition that is going to melt to any toss army.
My current suggestion is to instead go roach infestor corruptor (6-8). Also use nydus worms!! Such a great tool and for how much potential damage they can inflict the cost is nothing. Stay active and spread creep.
If you can get out a large muta stack at once, AND have it be a complete surprise to the protoss, getting some mutas is ok. When they know it’s coming it’s just not worth it. Phoenix’s just straight dominate mutas if they go for outright counter (less likely), and blink + guardian shields handle it fine too (more likely). Mutas are only as good as they can be abused. Maybe you get them if the protoss build 4+ colossus and doesn’t have enough anti air?
i’d suggest getting infestors instead.
Your ground army will melt before mutas can take down colossi, and if it is the case of the protoss being so far behind that he has 4 colossi that die to like 20+ mutas or w/e you were better off getting something else and crushing the protoss early.
To me, as P, it seems like if the Toss is turtling for his deathball on 2 base, the mutas aren’t going to be very effective. Hes going to have stalkers in his base to defend. Now if hes spreading over 3 bases, or if the maps dont allow him to move between bases easily, you can harass those probes and delay him greatly. If hes doing like a 6 gate push, mutas tend to come out just too late to help, making you weak to the push. So its kind of a fine line.
I tell you as a mediocre toss player, nothing ruins my day more than a flock of mutas catching me off guard

PvP is getting changed up to give the defenders an advantage. Still didn’t completely flip warp gate/gateway research time which I think they should, so that warp gates are slower and gateways faster. Ghosts get a small buff in needing less gas, Archons will be useful vs marauders and forcefields, and zerg… well, enjoy your more mobile spore crawlers I guess : P

It changes because the warp gate comes out later, giving you time to get up an immortal easily. Pylon range makes warping up into the base harder, because more defending stalkers can snipe it. Plus with warp gate coming later, the defender can get out more defending units in their base and actually research warp gate later, while the attacker would be forced to walk those units across the map.
It makes 3 gate robo a better defensive build by far, and makes 4 gate a lot weaker in comparison. It also weakens it vs other races too, but not too much.
Zealot time being back to 33 seconds make 2 gate zealot pressure against Z really effective again, and with warp gate time increased, stim timing from T become strong again since they both take the same amount of time to research (though you should get more units out from gateways at least).
I foresee less 1 zealot into warpgate units, and more units coming straight from the gateways

Terrible patch. Give P back quicker zealots, proxy2gate becomes insane again and now stalkers will be faster so proxy2gate pressure into stalkers before T/Z can get enough shit to pressure those gates is more viable
Also if you think Idra left korea because of “cheesing”… everyone good accepts this type of play jesus christ dont expect to read this shit on srk. Its because there is literally no money to make unless you win GSL(very low odds for anyone, even the best players) over there
To Idra, everything is cheese, that was the point of that joke. Anyway, Idra has become Irrelevant because his play has stagnated and he has mental barrier to overcome before he’ll be a threat. I hope he pulls himself through but I don’t see him doing very good at anything in the near future. He has a bit of a scrub mentality, like when he puts down Cruncher for doing deathball play and saying he doesn’t respect that style of play. You say everyone accepts that type of a play, which is true in the overall sense of the community (well, less lately since everything on TL seems to be whining about cheese), but then Idra constantly complains about the game balance and putting down anybody who beats him as playing the game wrong, when a true player knows you play to Win period. I don’t think that point clicks with his play style yet, though it’s refreshing seeing a few 6 pools from him

The main reason I never liked muta / ling is that you really have to catch your opponent offguard, and catch his army out of position. If you go muta ling and your opponent gets close to max, your army will just melt. Lings alone are just too ineffective against forcefields.
I also avoided Muta / Ling because I could let my opponent know I was going roach / hydra and still win. :razzy:
I already suck against early game pressure in ZvP, this patch is gonna hurt, though it should make PvP more interesting… looks pretty decent overall for a minor patch though, maybe a tick too much all over, but whatever… Faster gateway zealot/stalker is going to make it harder to scout protoss too.
idra complains about zvp cuz that matchup is borderline totally broken at the moment. Throw out random ass losses zergs pull out of their ass when a P takes a big risk/gets too greedy(Ret vs MC) and the mu is pretty god damn impossible in straight up play
Ive played(and beat) Cruncher multiple times. The dude is ltierally trash the worst it gets. Its really sad to see him win anything
