I think MKP will do better than he did in Jan vs MVP, but tvt finals will be interesting

Funnily, I had a dream last night about white ra vs MC, and when I woke up I was like “Oh yeah thats coming up on the TSL this weekend.” In my dream, White-Ra demolished him with some crazy build that completely dominated the 4 gate and revolutionized the matchup.
But after he lost to San, Im hoping he shows something more akin to his win over MC in the team format. The 3 gate stalker thing is just too hard, since it’s luck based in killing the probe

MVP demolished MKP. MKP took 2 games, but one was a secret 2 rax rush when mvp went fast expand, and the other was a really long game where mvp was 4 bases up and went BCs and died

nasl looks great. i’m lazy right now but anyone know who they got commentating? will their be booths like gsl? my only silly complain is that they had a more legit website instead of using the nasl.tv; i would have preferred nasl.net or .com.
edit: as I type those addresses in, I see that they are taken. sc2nasl.com would have been good.
Actually the first 9 weeks are all online play; after that they do top 16 in person.
The only commenters I know of are InControl and …HD starcraft.

Hey, it’s been a while since I asked for comments/analysis, so can you guys analyze this replay? Me Losing. Some general tips would help.
Also, Grand Masters League is live tomorrow. Now, what exactly does this mean? I know for one that all the top pros will be able to play each other so practicing for them will be so more beneficial. I am also excited to watch replays and yada yada yada.
Are there any other benefits to Grand Masters for the below avg player like myself?
Just watched it, heres what I think
Firstly, if you’re gonna 4 gate, do it with aggression. Your 4 gate is a bit slower than traditionally (chrono that warpgate!) seen but still effective. But then you waited too long warping in units; especially since you saw he was going at least 3 rax (there was a 4th too) you know he was gonna have a lot of units, so you just gave him more time to catch up, making your 4 gate lose steam.
I liked the opening stalker/zealot combo, but you got way too aggressive; keep the stalker at the bottom of the ramp, pop up with the zealot for vision and snipe a kill or two. You got out but barely.
Once you warp in your first set of units, start the aggression, and build a second proxy pylon closer so you can warp up into his base. Get some zealots in there and you’re golden.
Even still, you won the first battle, he is forced to retreat up into his base defensively, you have a nice mass of units and you… stand around waiting for more warp cycles. You could have walked up and ended him, but you let him hang on here, get more units from his 4 rax, and then you mis microed your way up the ramp, let him get too many shots, kept your stalkers too far behind, and focused the depots instead of his units. The end result was you limping away from a 4 gate, but still with a sizeable lead. You did a nice expand, but then your colossus gets out too late and his +1 bio army completely rapes you.
For this, I’d practice (god knows I need it) better forcefields, cutting his army in half instead of just blocking a few units. so that you can deal with their insane DPS. Too many of your sentries died with too much energy still in them. Your colossus came out too late, this is my problem too is that I don’t transition into robo play fast enough, but Im starting to think vs bio you have to get it out before 6 gates, which you didn’t. You paid the price there; imagine, just 1 or 2 colossus and he would have stood no chance.
So I’d say firstly, if you’re going to 4 gate, do it properly; hit them before the 7 minute mark, hit them hard and keep the pressure going. Cut probes at like 20ish, on only 1 gas, chrono your warp gate and stomp him hard. If it doesnt work then gg. But what you did was a more economical 4 gate that really didn’t transition as well into the mid as you’d like.
So I think your pressure could be just as effective with a 3 gate expand, you do the same thing, build units early pressure, then go home when you expand, get collossus and win. In theory at least. The 4th gate is just making your expand come too late and your probes are just making your attack come too late. 4 gate properly or do 3 gate pressure.
And if you’re stubborn like me, and absolutely love gateway play, do a 6 gate double forge build vs terran; +1 attack, then +2 attack/+1 armor with either chargelots or blink stalkers from your double forge, and just crush their bio.
I still think with proper forcefields you would have won that last battle, remember you had way more units, but most of them are weak sentries, so you need to forcefield perfect or you’re dead because they’re just deadweight; in that case stalkers would have been a better unit
i hope white-ra has a chance to avenge himself against MC at dreamhack
He has a chance if he’s not so stubborn about not 4 gating; of course, it is pretty risky to try and out 4 gate the Kratos protoss, but the 3 stalker build seems to be really luck driven in finding the first probe and stopping the pylon

@catchafire, pretty much what Willy said. I personally don’t like expanding in PvP really ever, it makes it really risky for a long period of time. 3 gate pressure into blink stalkers with an obs is a good later build. A proper 4 gate is all about timing, micro, and the map. I am focusing on PvP here I am assuming that is your problem? If you are going 1 gas 4 gate which is the all in imo, you have to cut to just 20 probes and your 3rd pylon needs to be at least aggressive. once you get those first 4 stalkers go snipe. The key in the battle is to have zealots go in first to tank damage and use your stalkers to snipe his stalker/sentry/immortal. Whoever has the most stalkers is going to win… unless he gets 2 immortals.
If you want to practice hit me up man NvMe.524 I still get on a fair amount. Lately I have been playing random however. I can help you a lot more in game instead of trying to cover every possible scenario on the forums.
Thanks guys for all the positive input and I agree with ALL the points made. After watching the replay, I held back when I drove his first army away. And then I tried to attack up the ramp and mismanaged my zealot/stalker play. I transistioned into an expansion and constantly made units/probes, but I failed to get collussus and against Terran you really need that AOE if your a below average player. I think that I should have gotten an armor upgrade and an observer to see exactly what was going on. I was in the dark way too long.
I’m not too upstet that I lossed because I learned something.
Anyone check out the NASL league today???
NASL was pretty good tonight. Watched about half of the matches and was impressed on how well it ran compared to MLG. The first series between Grubby and Moon was fantastic.
