Star Wars

Finally caught up with the latest episode of Rebels.

Spoiler

Damn, did Tarkin just have 2 imperial officers summarily executedbeheaded on screen?

Looks like Star Wars might get a release date in about 4 months!!!

Yup, hes cold blooded as shit

Also, one cool thing I realized, Sabine is going around painting the starbird logo on everything

this is before the rebels get organized; but its clear the logo shes using turns into the official rebel logo in the near future:

wrong house.

-Starhammer-

pretty spot on!

God damn Grevious was a beast in that.

The fact that Dash Rendar and the Thrawn Trilogy isn’t canon these days still bugs me. Shit Thrawn trilogy would have been a badass set of films.

Also have a soft spot for Boba Fett and Vader fighting on a volcano for a Mcguffin but I can see why that isn’t canon anymore.

That McQuarrie art is pretty god damn impressive, like am not a huge star wars geek or even an art aficionado but there is definately a few pieces there I wouldnt mind hanging on my living room wall. RIP indeed.

Will we see Abeloth and Darth Krayt?

Maybe, J.J. Abram has freedom to use story plot and characters from EU.

in case some of you have never seen the best Star Wars documentary ever made

Since we had the big ā€œFreezeā€ in the south-east, my girlfriend and I sat down and watched the Prequel trilogy (she watched the Original Trilogy about a 5-6 months ago for the first time). Rewatching those movies make you appreciate George Lucas as a visionary, but his is honestly not a very emotive director. She enjoyed them, but unlike the OT, she doesn’t really see the need to watch them again. On my side, I somehow remember the Phantom Menace to be worse. It’s not a terrible movie, but it’s non essential. The love story in AOTC isn’t believable mainly because of the interaction had between Padme and Anakin from the first movie and how it plays out through the second. It just felt that they are supposed to fall in love due to the OT instead of it being a legitimate pairing. ROTS is marred simply because the turn happens like a light switch.

We did get into a discussion about the best viewing order for the movies, for someone who is watching Star Wars for the first time. Watching it in episodic order makes sense, but you lose the reveal in ESB as you can see it coming from a mile away. I am partial to chronological order, but that’s because it’s the way I experienced them. To a person who can just buy/rent/borrow all 6 it just makes 0 sense. What are you all’s thought?

Lucas sucks at doing relationships.

Phantom Menace is 100% pointless
OT first then PT.

I think the best order for new viewers is 4, 5, 2 ,3 , and 6.

Agreed. AOTC (at least that place in time) could have been the start of the prequels. Having the main focal point of the story show up about 1hr into the first movie makes little sense.

That’s how I feel. You still get the reveal, and you end on a high note while getting the whole story. Plus you don’t have to chug through TPM LOL.

I was gonna do a 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6 with my family but for me getting rid of tpm is tempting

Yeah, but you don’t get the pod races, some nice soundwork, the Obi-Wan vs Maul snippet, and one of the best Star Wars themes ever. Do a clip show of the pod race and the final fight. Skip the bureaucratic nonsense and explain the end.

Yeah, pod races and Maul fight are awesome. I’d recommend they watch 1 afterwards, as extra content maybe. But it kind of interrupts the flow a bit with the fucking Gungan.

Sad they didnt put up the episode a week early, they are saving the finale for monday

Though I hope the rumors that

Fulcrum is Ashoka

Comes true!

I found this really interesting:

It seems Lucas’s ex wife was the one responsible for Star Wars being a masterpiece.
