this is the 3rd âmajorâ betrayal. The prequels had Anakinâs betrayal of the Jedi. And the prequels tried way too many ârhythmsâ and âpoetryâ from the OT. This 3rd trilogy is just more of the same, uninspired, but with way more plot conveniences and stupid storylines that go nowhere
I think we feel the same way. While I liked this movie, as an arc, there isnât very much left for this to wrap up with. As it stands right now, this is a story that feels disjointed. I really wish the concept of turning Star Wars on itâs head was introduced in the first film.
Terrible sequel. Itâs not our fault for being so letdown either, when Force Awakens clearly intended for stuff like Snoke and Rey to have Legit payoffs. The writers just flushed everything TFA was building on.
By the way, check out this rare, leaked teaser trailer for the last jedi:
People keep saying this. But how do you know? The story group has things like general character arcs and major events planned out in advance. Johnson has even said in an interview that having Luke die was something that Lucusfilm wanted in this movie, but he wanted to push it into episode 9. What happened was intended as planned.
So youâre telling me that the Lucusfilm story group. The writers of the story and the keepers of the canon, arenât planning these things out in advance. Great. If my headâs in the sand then yours is up your own ass.
First off, stop projecting your situation onto me lol.
Secondly, planning things out in advance? Yeah, no. It wouldnât be the first series to make up things as they go along. Or scrap plotpoints of the previous movie.
I can see youâre in denial and donât want to face the reality of what a letdown the latest, big Star Wars flick was. Youâre not alone. Some of us prefer to face the music though. The movie sucked a hard one and may have tanked the entire trilogy.
Thereâs a whole entire universe that they have to oversee in books, comics, films, etc. Trust me. All the events and back stories are planned out. Definitely better than the Legends continuity was at least.
Kylo killing Snoke in the middle of Snoke saying what a badass manipulative dark side user he is and Kylo taking complete control of the First Order as Supreme Leader is âNOTHING.â
Rey trying to reach out to Kylo in an attempt to bring him back to the light and failing, thus sealing Kylo as the main protagonist, confirmed by both Leia and Luke that heâs not coming back, is âNOTHING.â
Luke dying before he could complete Reyâs training and Snoke murdered before he could complete Kyloâs training so now you have the two most powerful Force users with no mentors on how to harness and control their strengths and theyâre left to develop in their own ways is âNOTHING.â
The Last Jedi killed my anticipation of the 3rd movie for one.
And the next movie better do some serious damage control! Otherwise the trilogy is ruined and years from now, weâll all look back on The Force Awakens and wonder what might have beenâŚ
Actually, isnât this how Palpatine became the Dark Lord of the Sith?
Anyway, there is no inconsistency I see here. The Rule of Two was being implemented and I was excited to see this, but the moment was ruined by Rey herself.
There is NO THIRD MOVIE because no one gives a fuck anymore. Thats what you are not understanding. At least with the prequels there were some threads dangling that people could still grab onto that people cared about like seeing Anakin turn evil and figuring out how Palpatine got into power. Here there is NOTHING to grab or get excited about it. Its OVER. And the only people who could give a fuck at this point are people who didnt care about Star Wars or the franchise anyway and those who dont care that the story is a fucking dumpster fire and just want to see what JJ Abrams is going to do. I dont care though because the movie franchise is done and theres nothing left i need to see about it.
Lol, again with the âNOTHINGâ in all caps. I donât care how loud you guys keep crying over The Last Jedi- Iâm super fucking excited to see how Rey and Kylo each develops without proper mentors to complete their training, and to see how the Force is manifested and evolves without dogmatic boundaries.
Youâre not excited at the Rey, Finn, Rose love triangle?
Youâre not excited of more Porgs and BB8 antics?
Youâre not excited to see Chewie fly the Falcon or maybe fire his bowcaster?
Youâre not excited about the Rebels vs the Empire in a final epic battle of ties and x wings?
But you gotta be excited over a couple of padawans duel one final time in the exciting conclusion , think of whatâs at stake and the tension ⌠Then tell me, because I canât think of anything important between them
