They want their (Sad as Fuck) confirmation bias, they want their fan-boi head cannon and fan fics to be validated.
They also asked for something new as they complain The Force Wakens is too much like A New Hope
The Last Jedi is nothing like The Empire Stikes back or any other Star Wars movie to date. It was holly original and it throws all the troupes to the wind
Spoiler
Like how Luke threw that Lightsaber like it was a used up hamburger wrapper
They are drawing SJW connections that are not their all because Troupes were torched
Spoiler
Like how Yoda use lighting to set fire to that tree
[details=Spoiler]They expect Luke Skywalker go all Dragon Ball Z on the First Order Storm Troopers with his Laser Sword and his Magic powers
andâŠ
Every word of what was just said was wrong.

[details=Spoiler]I will say the best thing about this new trilogy continues to be Kylo Rem. He truly embodies this idea of a character caught up in the past and letting go so he can forge his own destiny. Heâs damn near the main character because he gets the most character development.
Also, Lukeâs death scene was handed really fucking tastefully. Like damn I actually teared up a little even if the death itself annoyed me.[/details]
Iâm telling yâall this movie had such great moments that are neutered by the rest of it.
[details=Spoiler]another reason i love this movie and think its a 2 hour middle finger to tumblr. most thought this was gonna be more about reys development in the force as well as diving balls deep into her past. the writers were like fuck alll you reblogging assholes. luke faultered and fucked up, kylo was already fucked up but dove deep because of lukes faultering.
also its funny people are so willing to complain about luke letting fear misguide him and waver. when this is the whole point the jedis hammer why adults cant be trainedâŠthough its really because of indoctrination[/details]
Mark Hamill looks like he is about to go postal on Ryan at the 4:10 mark.
which makes me thinkâŠ
[details=Spoiler] Mark had no clue Luke was going to get killed. None. And that the part after he gets up from doing astral projection, on the rock if you guys remember that part, was all cgi without his knowledge since you dont see Hamill up close. only at a distance with his back turned to the camera from that point on.
which makes me thinkâŠwoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. i think Ryan totally screwed him in post editing.
wooooow.
cuz Mark Hamill is looking like he wants to kill Ryan. hes panting and everything lol
he mad. he real mad.[/details]
at 4:15 mark i can literally see his heart turn to the dark side with murderous thoughts for the director.
oh yea, btw, if i forgot to mention,âŠi totally have a fan edit of Rogue One with john williams music put into it and edited down to 49 minutes. its so much better than original Rogue One. if you can find the movie online, download it.
Aka he got told to shut the fuck up and accept his paycheck by the mouse. When you see those old interviews you can see the passion with which he disagrees with this idea of Luke. This is the same dude who was pissy about Luke cutting off the wampas hand, the man knows his character.
[details=Spoiler]I wonât expend too much energy retreading what everyone else has already said⊠Finnâs whole subplot being ultimately unnecessary and making things worse, Poeâs blithering idiocy and insubordination, compounded by the Admiralâs refusal to let him in on the plan, and the way Luke was handled being the worst offenders.
The entire Casino section could be removed, and youâd have a much tighter and cleaner narrative. In actuality, you could have ended the film after Kylo and Rey serve Snoke and his elite guard, with the Rebels landing on Crait, saving us that drawn out climax and Lukeâs final stand.
I also donât mind Snoke jobbing, as we really donât need another cackling Palpatine redux when Kylo Ren is clearly the main antagonist. That whole confrontation with Rey/Kylo versus Snoke and his elites is one of the filmâs highlights to me.
Phasma jobbing is another matter, but cool-looking antagonists jobbing spectacularly is SW tradition at this point.
Kylo and Reyâs dynamic was handled well, their interactions held the film together when the plot could not.
I understand where they were going with Grumpy Old Man Luke, but the execution was lacking⊠He really deserved to play a bigger role before fading out. His exit was admittedly handled respectfully and with the fanfare it deserved⊠Speaking of which, the cinematography and scene construction was on fucking point.[/details]
I like what Rian Johnson was going for by subverting expectations, and the theme of moving on from the past⊠However, the execution fell flat for most of it.
If you remove the middling and unnecessary second act, and let Poe not be a fucking moron at every turn, you have a very solid film that does the job of establishing the new gen and shuffling the old guard out the door.
All in all, a 6, almost 6.5 out of 10 film. Above-average, with some notable flaws.
[details=Spoiler]
Also, Admiral Ackbar was done waaaayyyy dirty⊠Dude deserved better than to just unceremoniously get blown into space. Not how you treat a fan-favorite darkhorse. Fuck Rian Johnson for that one.[/details]
